Arcane Magic [C98]

Seeing the title of the book, Shu Himo was excited, this is surely different from the normal magic spell.

He immediately thought about the magic circle used by Shu Eitha, wondering if that was Arcane Magic.

Taking the book, Shu Himo immediately seated on a chair and started reading.

            Creating a Magic Circle

By closing the eyes and focusing on the flow of Qi inside of the body is possible to visualize the various runes, and by using the mana is possible to bind them together, slowly forming a complete magic circle.

All the runes vary for each person, making impossible to teach someone else the same spell. Every rune has a 'meaning', that may be 'Ice', 'Fire', 'Light' and many other elements, which brought together can form the magic circle. A magic circle usually is formed by more than a thousand runes.

Once a magic circle is devised, the next phase will be to cultivate it inside of the dantian, readying it for use. This phase may take from months to years, depending on the talent of the person. (Warning: the first time may require way more time.)

Once the magic circle is cultivated, it will permanently occupy an amount of mana present in the body based on its structure. Once cultivated, is also possible to modify the magic circle by cultivating it once again.

          Activating the Magic Circle

To activate a magic circle, there are two phases:

The first phase is to create it outside of the body, by projecting it from the dantian.

The second phase is to say its name and pay the required price.

             Name and Price

The purpose of saying the name is to 'inform' the world of the coming of an Arcane Magic, used both as an activation command for the magic circle and to make the surrounding world prepare for the impact, lessening the permanent damage on the area.

The price is instead the energy used to activate the Arcane Magic, taken from crystals. Each Arcane Magic will require a different amount of crystals, not only based on its strength but also on its used elements.

Reading the last phrase, Shu Himo frowned, does this mean that Arcane Magic will be pricey to use?

'Is this a joke? Now not only the system but even magic is stingy?'

[The system is not stingy, it's the User who is too stingy to use BS points.]

Speechless from the system's shamelessness on stating false, Shu Himo continued reading the next pages and found out that they are all about a more detailed explanation of every phase, comprising how to cultivate the magic circle.

Recording the book by skimming through it, Shu Himo asked the most important question, 'System, how much is the price to master everything in the book?'

[The price for memorizing it is: 200 BS points.]

[The price for mastering it is: 10000 BS points.]

'This is a scam!'

After reading through the remaining pages, Shu Himo was about to go away when he suddenly noticed something that shocked him, "Where is the exit? Am I supposed to pass through the destroyed path?"

Walking up to the door, he opened it and noticed that instead of the same path there is a portal there, will it lead outside? Traversing it, Shu Himo abruptly found himself to be at the start of the path, in the same room where he met the middle-aged man.

He then looked around and saw that Phylia was waiting for him, but the middle-aged man was not in the room anymore.

"Sorry, did you wait for long?"

Hearing his question, Phylia shook her head, "No, It's fine… also, the man asked me to give this to master." She then took out a small letter and gave it to Shu Himo.

Puzzled about the content, he took the letter and read it.

"Shu Himo, good luck in your study of the Arcane Magic, and congratulation for having completed the test. May fate make us meet once again."

Reading it Shu Himo was dumbfounded, 'How does he know I chose Arcane Magic? And what is this, it sounds as if he was here just because he wanted to see me?'

Having nothing else to do in the tower of knowledge, Shu Himo and Phylia went back to their mansion.

Later, when he was about to go to sleep, he suddenly heard the usual, *Ding*

[Confined Quest: Learn and Use Arcane Magic!]

[You now have knowledge about Arcane Magic. Create a new Arcane Magic and display it to the world!]

[Quest Difficulty: SS+]

[Quest Reward(Learn): 250 BS points.]

[Quest Reward(Use): 250 BS points.]

[Quest Failure Penitence: none.]

[Warning: As a confined quest, until you complete it at least partially you will not be able to start another quest.]

[Note: Completing the (Learn) part is enough to unlock the restriction.]

"WHAT? What kind of absurdity are these penalties? This is bullsh*t!"

[The User triggered a Confined Quest, an extremely rare quest which stops the User from starting other quests or cultivate to a higher phase.]

"At least they are rare... right?"

[Indeed. From the creation of the system, less than 20 confined quests were assigned in total. Usually, it only happens when the host is considered extremely weak, and require to be stronger to not make everything boring.]

Shu Himo could not believe it, what kind of joke was this? Wasn't this like being punished for not being too strong? What does the system even consider as strong? And how was possible that stopping the increase in cultivation level would make someone stronger?

Not having another choice, he sighed and went to sleep, while as always Phylia acted like a lap pillow for him.

-----

The next day, after waking up the first thing that Shu Himo did is to sit down on the bed and try to feel the runes, but only after thirty minutes did he manage to see the first one.

[It seems that it will require a lot of time...]
