Xiangliu (1)

Shi Rong didn't speak not once throughout the entire journey instead she concentrated on the mission ahead.

She had to kill a Xiangliu and take it's heart!

Mo Yu trembled and squealed reverting back to his small animal form as he hid inside of Shi Rongs sleeve.

The air became heavy as they walked forward. The once lush and green ground was now brown and devoid of life. Animal and spiritual beast bones laid scattered across the lands.

A thick black fog appeared around the lake full of a heavy poisonous gas. She pulled out a small jar filled with a thick clear paste and smeared some under her nose. It glowed a faint color before completely disappearing.

"I need everyone to stay here this is something I must accomplish alone." She placed Mo Yu down on the ground and continued forward giving them no time to object.

Ling Yiyao looked reluctantly at the young woman as she stepped forward, desperately wanting to follow her.

Shi Rong stepped through the thick black poisonous fog and proceeded forward with caution. She walked a few more meters towards a large green bubbling lake and stopped. Her heart raced but she kept a calm demeanor as she stood there and waited. A small head peaked through the green water and rose up slightly revealing a young woman's face.

Her face was round with her cheeks hanging. The eyes were small and slender but her smile was sinister revealing a row of sharp and pointed teeth.

Her voice was bone chilling and cold striking fear in anyone's heart but Shi Rong stood calm as she watched the head. "Little lady have you come to offer yourself as a sacrifice to the great Xiangliu beast?"

Shi Rong responded calmly as she pulled out her naginata. "No I have come for your heart and I will leave here today with it."

The head rose higher revealing a long reptile neck, eight other similar heads rose revealing a long snake like body.

She backed away as it crawled from the bubbling lake. It laughed wickedly as it approached her slowly while speaking simultaneously. "Young woman you have dug yourself and early grave for we shall feast on your flesh and bones not even leaving your soul behind for reincarnation but consider it your fault for approaching us!"

Shi Rong readied her naginata as it charged forward and braced herself.
