Zhi Family Banquet (8)

She hooked the broken Ji on her back and swiftly made her way from the side of the building towards the busy streets ahead walking through crowds as she made her way towards a small brick building across the auction hall.

She pulled her white hood over her head and walked into the building. A small girl around the age of thirteen stood behind the long wooden brown counter. Her long dark brown hair was pinned into a large bun behind her head. her cream shirt was to big for her body exposing her small collar bone and white shirt underneath. She stood hunched over tapping her long fingernails on the counter. Upon noticing Shi Rong enter she lifted her head and gazed at the mysterious woman before her covered in white robes and a white hood. She couldn't see her face so she narrowed her eyes and asked cautiously. "Ma'am do you need something from this establishment?"

Shi rong smiled beneath the hood which only revealed her lips and slightly laughed once. "Ha, yes my lady I require a service to help me deliver letters on account of the Zhi family."

The small child averted her gaze and sneered. "Why should I have my fine messengers send letters for the Zhi family you're obviously only a representative therefore I have no need to help you with your request. I despise the Zhi family the eldest daughter imprisoned my mother just because she took a fancy to my father. Afterwards my father killed himself due to loneliness and self blame because he thought she was dead now I'm stuck running this business. GET OUT!"

Shi Rong smiled and pulled out a jade token tossing it towards the small girl. She glanced at the token and looked up with a confused expression only to be met by Shi Rongs chilling grin beneath her hood. "Who said I was a member of the Zhi family or a representative. I simply stated i wanted letters immediately delivered on account of the Zhi family. there will be a grand banquet at the end of the week held in their honor. If you wish for justice aid me and attend the event."

The young girl twirled the jade token in her fingers slowly then looked up with interest. "What do you need?"

Shi Rong pulled a stack of envelopes from her sleeve sealed with the Zhi family crest. "I need these delivered by the end of the day to these families and individuals along with all letters coming and going towards the Zhi family intercepted."

She flipped the jade coin with her thumb into the air. It landed on the counter with a soft thud. "And this jade token?"

Shi Rong lifted the corners of her lips higher. "Consider it payment to keep this our little secret. Jade is a hundred times more valuable than gold yen but also more scarce and hard to come by therefore this should be a lot of money for you."

"Hmph consider it done Miss…."

"Da Lui." Shi Rong immediately pulled back the white hood revealing her face. The young girl gasped when she saw her long white hair and eyelashes. She flinched slightly then displayed a composed expression snapping her fingers.
