He smacked Shen Cao across the head sending her flying across the dark alleyway.


She landed on the ground and began rubbing her cheek spitting out a mouthful of blood. "Lord Lingxiao why would you strike me and not this Shi woman to obtai my friends?"


"Shut your mouth I shall not lay a finger on my sister!"


Shen Cao narrowed her eyes then glanced at Shi Rong. "Sister, Lord Lingxiao are you sick in the head you told me your only blood sister is dead and you don't acknowledge your adopted siblings, there is no way this woman can be your sister you are clearly from two different origins!"


Xia Lingxiao stepped forward in anger. "I said shut your mouth, do no question me Shen Cao this woman is my sister and should be treated with respect!"


"Even if she wasn't your sister this foul rooster should treat her with the respect she deserves especially when I'm around." A calm cold voice carried through the alleyway. 


Ling Yiyao and Quijie walked forward. Ling Yiyao carried Mo Yu in his arms appearing like a perfect father son pair as they walked.


A cold chill crept up Shen Cao's spin as Ling Yiyao walked beside her placing his tender hands roughly on her shoulder applying just enough pressure not to seem obvious he was hurting her.


Shen Cao wrinkled her brows as her forehead became drenched in sweat. "Ye...Yes...Yes Lord Ling Yiyao…..I apologize."


Quijie blinked his pink eyes then glanced at Shen Cao speaking a in a cold voice so cold it sends a chill down Xia Lingxiao's back as well. "An apology is not going to work little lady for you have caused a great sin upon my lady including her current state, so Shen cao."


Upon hearing name her body tenses up under Ling Yiyao's grip.


"How are you going to properly apology to my lady or should I further damage that body of yours." His voice dropped a few degrees colder as he narrowed his pink eyes further. A cold light flashed through his eyes.


Shen Cao gulped looking at the two men she glanced at Hui Mian with a pleading look. Hui Mian bit her bottom lip then turned away with a sorry expression. She turned her gaze to Xiandi. He looked at Quijie and Ling Yiyao before quickly retreating behind Shi Rong lifting her chin into the air as he turned his back on Shen Cao.


She looked down as she began chewing on her lip. Her eyes watered with fear. She lifted her fearful and pleading gaze towards Shi Rong. She stood across from Shen Cao with her arms crossed over her chest with a calm and disinterested expression. Her fairy like face brightened by the moonlight caused Shen Cao to catch a flashback from the past.
