Oh Crap!

Unfazed by the fact that he killed two people and covered the artifact in blood, Khusus felt very tired. The cosmic reaction in his body causes him to lose his emotions temporarily.

He decided it was a smart idea to take a nap. Not in the mysterious building of course, he headed to his home. Before he went home he went through the items until he saw the book he was reaching for. 'Cosmic Machines'. 'What a disappointment' thought Khusus as he left. When he got to his house he received questions like, "What were you doing?" or "Is that blood.?" from his mom. He ignored those questions and headed towards his room.

When Khusus got to his room he saw his father standing in front of the door. Khusus didn't feel like talking so he tried to push pass.

"Where have you been?" Youchi asked.

"..."

"WHERE have you been?" Youchi asked a little louder.

"I don't know." semi-told the truth Khusus.

"Even if you don't where you were, you still know what you were doing and what caused blood to get on the artifact." said Youchi, "Why did you go so far from the house on your own and what were you doing?"

"There was a suspicious man." Khusus didn't feel like lying because it would cause the situation to last longer. "I followed him 'cause I thought he was going to do something bad."

"Why didn't you tell me?" asked Youchi.

"I was curious and I wanted to do it on my own." replies Khusus.

"Do what on your own?" Youchi was still calm.

Khusus sighed and told Youchi what happened, except for his encounter fact that he had with the two people. Youchi seemed to believe his story, but he had a few questions like "Why did you go in?" or "Why was there blood on the artifact?". Khusus tried to avoid the last question to the best of his ability, but ultimately failed. Youchi finally showed anger on his face.

"I don't know what you're hiding from me, but I don't like it." Youchi looked at Khusus in disappointment.

Khusus knew that his father would be able to see through him eventually. He had a little determination that Youchi wouldn't be able to discover what he did, but Youchi found out. Youchi stared at Khusus for a minute because he knew he heard the truth, but couldn't believe his son would kill a person. Not only did Khusus kill a person he killed two! Khusus was mentally preparing himself for his punishment when Youchi finally spoke.

"Come with me." Youchi motioned for Khusus to follow.

Khusus didn't talk and went to where his father took him. Youchi brought Khusus to the old room and sat down. Repeating the actions of Youchi, Khusus sat down as well. Youchi reached out his hand to Khusus. Khusus grabbed the artifact and gave to his dad. His dad pulled out a rag and polished the artifact quietly and calmly. All the confusion and anger on his face from earlier had disappeared.

"Are you mad?" asked Khusus.

"You've accomplished two things today. How could I be mad?!" smiled Youchi.

"...?"

"First, you protected the sword and Second, you overcame your fear of killing." said Youchi.

"It wasn't a fear, I just wasn't prepared."

"Then can I ask, how did you prepare yourself?"

Khusus had to think for a minute. He remembered that his father's words rang in his head and he knew what to do. Khusus thought there was more to it though, so he didn't say that as his answer.'Why would I kill someone?' Khusus asked himself in his head. Then he remembered. To kill those who were worse than him as if they were scum.

"There life had no value." Khusus finally answered.

"I see." Youchi replied calmly.

Youchi had just finished cleaning Austėja's Sheath and handed it back to Khusus. He then smiled and stood up.

"You're ready to move on." said Youchi.

Youchi explained that since Khusus couldn't control his cosmic energy he wouldn't be able to learn those types of skills. Youchi explained how there were more skills that didn't require cosmic energy that he could learn. Khusus was very happy upon hearing this and wondered why he hasn't learnt about this earlier. He decided that he would focus on learning this to the best of his ability.

"Where do I begin?" asked Khusus.

Youchi brought five books Khusus was unfamiliar with out of one of the corners of the room. Khusus was very upset because he had lost interest in reading already and didn't want to go through the same process of not learning anything.

"I hate reading." said Khusus. "The last time I read I wasted two years and learned nothing."

Youchi was surprised by this because Khusus use to love reading as a child. Youchi held the books in his hands and walked to Khusus' room. Khusus, seeing his dad leaving, followed. Youchi put the books down on the floor.

"Just in case you change your mind," said Youchi. "Let's talk about something else."

"Do you think you'll be able to protect the artifact like this in the future?" asked Youchi.

"No," Khusus answered honestly.

"You need to come up with a way to determine if someone's life has no value." stated Youchi.

Khusus layed down on his bed after hearing this and thought for a few minutes with his eyes closed. He had to come up with a way to determine if someone's life had no value. 'People who steal have less value than those who give,' thought Khusus. Anyone who tried to take the artifact would have no value, they're life would weigh nothing compared to those who give. Khusus finally thought of something, a way to rank someone's value of life.

The Life Value Scale.

He decided on ranking people based on his sharp analyzations and deductions. He would compare the person to himself to determine their value. Since he wasn't necessarily a good person he would be 0. Those worse than him would be negative and those better than him would be positive. He'd give the person a number based on his deductions.

Khusus opened his eyes and sat up. He recognized that his father had left and that he was in the room alone. He looked out the window to recognize that it was dark out and no one was on the streets. He went over to his door to open it when he realized that it was locked from the outside. Khusus thought for a moment and tried to forcefully break the handle and open the door, thinking something was wrong. He failed multiple times and turned around to go back to his bed, when he saw Austėja's Sheath.

Khusus picked it up and went over to smash the door. Khusus succeeded, but didn't have any time to celebrate because he knew his father wouldn't lock him in his room for no reason. The reason Khusus didn't leave through the window wasn't because he was stupid, it was because he always wanted to break down a door.

After leaving his bedroom Khusus headed to the central room. When Khusus arrived, he was greeted by blood and destruction. By that I mean the room was a mess and there was blood on the floor. Khusus saw that the blood led to the kitchen and he followed the trail. The front door of the house was letting cold air in and he saw his father slumped over at the table holding his side and it looked like he was writing something.

"Dad!" Khusus cried out.

No response. Khusus rushed over to his dad to check his condition. No pulse. Khusus was breathing heavily and started to cry.

"You don't need to worry." Youchi spoke.

"Dad?" Khusus was still crying.

Youchi looked in Khusus' direction and smiled. He placed his none bloody fake arm upon his head. He stroked his head a couple of times before moving his hand to the paper. He handed the paper to Khusus and closed his eyes. He placed his hand on the table and started to focus.

"That's all you need to do." Those were the last words Youchi spoke before he laid silently on the table.

Khusus tried to stop crying so he could read the paper in his hand. He decided on completing his father's request seriously.

'The Drawer'

Khusus knew exactly what that meant. Youchi use to put all the things he didn't want Khusus to have in that drawer. Khusus went into his father's room and opened the drawer. It was empty. He remembered his father's last actions. He placed his hand on top of his father's desk and focused. Nothing. He tried again. Nothing. Khusus tried about twenty more times. Failure. Khusus began to cry. As he cried he felt his body absorbing cosmic energy. 'Not now' thought Khusus.

He tried to stop crying and focused on the drawer, but his body was already having its reaction. Khusus slumped over the desk and felt the pain in his body again. The desk began to shake as the reaction began to stop.

Khusus began to open the desk drawer...
