The monkey staff

At home

"Hao, how is going your study? Any news?" His father asked.

"Nothing new yet…" He answered and sighed heavily.

His father did the same. He blames himself because Yun Hao's problem with cultivation, he never blamed his son, but self-blaming is worse than he was blamed by his father. They talked over and over about it, but there was nothing they could do. Going through the hard path was what he had to do. Would take time if he could achieve something, in this life.

He was in no rush, he did what he could, studying control to improve his use, so his quantity would last longer. Of course, he was weaker than a lot of people, but if he was smart he could try something, so wouldn't be so embarrassed.

His knowledge about theory was amazing, although his practical skills weren't that good. He didn't know which grade was his spiritual energy, although he was guessed it was low, on the other hand, his manipulation or control would be in a higher grade. If this real, he was good and bad at the same time, that' why he was so strict about his social cycle.

Yun Hao raised his head and spoke with confidence in his eyes. "I will definitely achieve a godlike realm father, in the future they will write about me, you can rest assured about that."

"You and that dream again, just do your best kiddo."

"Sure, I'll do, that's why I'll achieve the sky. Just wait and see father." He said while scratching the back of his hand like a playful little boy would do.

His father laughed and left the room.

Yun Hao was alone with his books, now It was time to finish the books that he borrowed from the library.

He grabbed 'Cultivation, what is and its importance' and restarted the reading, he didn't want to lose anything good. A few minutes he was where he had stopped. And a new chapter came. It was about the cultivation schools, a place where cultivators were together under the guidance of a higher realm cultivator. The book was outdated about this matter because there was a long time since it was written.

In the beginning was only for cultivators, human beings using spiritual energy to kill the monsters, years passed and the second type of school appeared, it was for martial artists, those who practiced martial arts to fight against the monsters and weren't too good with cultivation, or just preferred their own way to fight.

In less than a thousand years a third type appeared, they were the mix of both, scholars from both types of school united under the same idea, improve so they can kill more monsters.

The three types of schools had success, a lot of schools spread across the continents, a bunch of the first and second type, but there was only one school per continent that it was from the third type, the mixed one.

He kept reading.

The next chapter was about the tests someone would do to enter a school, of course, they were outdated, they are harder now, and each school choose how they do their tests, Yun Hao knew this because he felt by himself, the hardship of a test, because he already went through a few, when he was trying to get into a better school.

He closed the first book. He had just finished, four more to go.

The next one was 'Martial arts and cultivation, it was a red hardcover with letters in white. That was a pretty cover indeed.

There was an endless amount of pages, each fighting style with more than 30 pages, the variety of weapons was big as well, Yun Hao didn't know which one to pick, there were martial arts based on swords, guan dao (spear), knives, staffs, rods, and kept going. In his house, there was a sword, but it was from his father, and the man liked a lot, he wouldn't even bother asking for it.

His idea was to find one himself or buy one, although he couldn't do either of these options because he wasn't strong enough to go outside without the risk of dying, and if he found something good, he was afraid his companion could still from him. The other option, to buy one, was out of his mind, because of the price. His family couldn't afford.

It's just for training, anyway. Yun Hao was thinking with his hand under his chin. An abrupt idea took his thought out of a sudden. He had a perfect weapon to practice at home, the broomstick, with this he could practice at least the staff and the rod.

He went through the staff section and found one 'The monkey staff'. "Interesting…" he was speaking out loud. Although others were interesting as well, they had some requirements, like a higher realm, and the one he chose, didn't have. But he promised to go back and study those from higher realms when he achieved, because to him, become strong would happen, this was for sure, as clear as the day. Yun Hao went through the pages in less than three hours. He was addicted to that knowledge.

He knew that the sword was the most picked weapon, that's why even his father had one. The techniques weren't that complicated, although the power a swordsman could achieve was really amazing. Even the heroes from the novels, most of them had as a weapon a sword.

But the possibilities that were described in the book, almost exploded Yun Hao's head, he could do amazing things.

"This seems too good to be real…"

"Can I do it?"

"I guess i can, there is no realm required …"

"Probably someone made that up, this can't be real."

"But if it is real or not, we are going to figure it out. Let's see how far you can take me, 'the monkey staff'." A bright smile appeared on his face.

He was talking to himself, that was one of his traits, when he was in doubt he would ask for a professional's opinion, he answered himself everytime that this happened.

In the next bedroom.

"After all those years he still talks to himself…" Said a man.

A beautiful woman in a red robe just nodded slightly.

"I've never seen something like this" after that the woman chuckled.

"His confidence…he shouldn't be so confident, yet he is more confident than my brother, and he is way stronger than him…" the man replied.

"I know, I know…if just his veins were normal…" the woman spoke with a sad voice.
