The Depressed Sax

The call went through, and a woman's voice spoke. The one who called was not Lin Wenyu, but Qian'er's stepmother, Liu Yun.

"Qianqian, your father said he got a little carried away just now. He hopes you won't mind." Liu Yun's voice was very gentle and comforting to listen to.

Liu Yun had always been very kind to Qian'er, treating her as her own daughter. To Qian'er, her stepmother was even more important than her own father.

Qian'er laughed. "Would my dad ever apologize to me?"

Lin Wenyu had always been cold and heartless. It did not matter if he was right or wrong — he would rather die than admit defeat. Liu Yun was clearly saying that to protect Qian'er's relationship with her father.

"Haha, he really did! When has Aunty Yun ever lied to you?"

Whether they were true or otherwise, Liu Yun's words undeniably made Qian'er feel much better.
