"It happened last year. My best friend Jason and I used to hang out all the time since we were kids. We decided to join the track team together and be the best friend track duet. We wanted to become unstoppable but I was a faster runner than he was. The coach said I had a "natural talent" for running. Initially I was placed on the varsity squad as the starting long-distance runner and Jason was placed on the junior varsity team as bench. He couldn't stand all the recognition I was getting so one day he placed drugs in my locker during a routine drug search. I was placed on suspension and was dropped from the track team.
When I found out the truth I became furious. I placed my future on the line, I was going towards a scholarship and had it all ripped away by his jealousy.
One day during my suspension I snuck on campus and went into the track team's locker room and confronted Jason. We got into a heated argument and started pushing each other. He pushed me into a locker and it came open. He kicked me in the head as we yelled.
The locker that swung open belonged to a member who was also on the school's baseball team. I grabbed the bat that was in his locker and hit Jason with it. I hit him over and over again. Some team members heard the commotion and came to investigate.
They saw me beating him and pulled me away then called the principal. The principal called the police and ordered my expulsion. My parents were furious.
My mom was so mad she couldn't even look at me. Jason ended up breaking his leg, pinkie finger on his right hand, and his right forearm. My dad ended up having to pay the hospital bills.
I couldn't get into any schools in Greenville Alabama after that.
We tried other family members but nobody wanted to take me in, in fear I was a loose cannon. Mom called Alex and told her of my situation and she agreed to take me in. So here I am."
She grabbed my hand and looked at me with a sorrowful expression. I tightened my grip around her fingers and looked her in the eye. "I'm sorry I made you tell me that," She said.
I chuckled slightly with a hint of sadness. "No don't be, to be honest it feels good to tell somebody my story," I said.
She placed her head under my chin and went silent for a moment. "This is the Asher family mausoleum, my mother, father, brother and sister are buried inside," she said with a whisper. I can hear her voice choke up. I started to rub her cheek as she spoke, "My mom was a witch, she practiced black magic and was burned at the stake in secret out in the woods by a scared group of villagers."
I looked down at her and wiped away her tears as she continued to speak. "My father drove himself mad after her death, some villagers grew fearful of him and spread around the word of him being cursed by my mother's witches plague, and was stoned in front the old Shakespeare theater while the officers were busy inside watching a play."
"What about your sister and brother?" I asked.
"I don't know, I disappeared shortly after my father died," she responded.
She choked back her tears.
I locked her into a strong embrace and stroked her head. "And what about you, what happened to you?" I asked slowly.
She grew quiet and responded, "I don't remember about how I died, I just remember it was very frightful and painful, afterwards I awoken as a succubus from my mother's curse and my hatred towards men."
