Chapter 2: Vase-kun?

On the way to his apartment, Bnan walks slowly as he still feels tired after the jogging session with Caroline.

It is not he is tired physically, instead, he just feels a little dispirited as the date ended quite abruptly.

"Haih, just when we want to have fun, aaaargh," said Bnan grumpily.

Bnan lives in a tall apartment and has a good relationship with his neighbors.

He often cooks as he lives alone, so while he is at it every so often he will give some to his fellows' friends which live near to his room.

If he cooks more than he can eat, he will straight up give them to his neighbors instead of put it in the refrigerator.

He believes in his cooking skill which he already hones from secondary school.

Don't you worry, he will eat it first to make sure it is edible!

At the same time, he aspires to improve his cooking skill so by sharing his food with his neighbors, he does not feel like he loses anything.

Plus, he can sew some good karma, so why not right?

In addition to that, Bnan himself loves to cook, and he always tries to make different types of dishes such as Chinese, Western, Italian, Thai and Japanese.

So he sometimes read about the ingredients as it is crucial to know what they can do to your cooking.

For example, why people add salt to their cooking?

Salt has many roles in making your dishes taste delicious.

Firstly, salt enhances flavor, not only does it create a 'salty' flavor element, one of the most desired tastes by humans, but salt can also affect other flavors, such as sweet and bitter.

In small amounts, the salt will intensify sweetness, so it is sometimes sprinkled on fresh fruit or added to candies like caramel.

Salt can also counteract bitter flavors in food — it is often used to debitter cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and olives.

They are also important for our nutrient source.

This is because pure table salt is composed of approximately 40 percent sodium and 60 percent chlorine.

Although most of us consume far too much sodium, it is a nutrient that is essential for survival.

Sodium is needed to help relax and contract muscles, conduct nerve impulses, and sustain the proper balance of minerals and water in the body.

Most table salts in the world also have iodine added to them to prevent iodine deficiencies, which can cause disorders of the thyroid, including goiters.

You can google the disease if you want though.

Mind-blowing? Wait after Bnan explains to you about the herbs he learned during last summer.

Due to Chinese cuisines have too many uses of herbs, Bnan helplessly needs to make a lot of research about them before he started to cook them.

At the end of the day, Bnan quickly learns many names, characteristics and the herb's uses in cooking and medicine too.

Noticing he already near with his apartment Bnan said happily, "Huhu, nothing will beat a hearty meal after working out."

He ponders while still walking, "Hm, what should I make aye? Braised chicken drumsticks? Yes, that should do it."

Chicken is very good for diet purposes if you cook it correctly.

Chicken is rich in proteins, good for the heart, plenty of phosphorus, abundant in selenium, boosts metabolism, rich in niacin, natural anti-depressant, promotes eye health and essential for healthy tissue.

This makes chicken quite suitable after a work out session.

But fried chicken is still not healthy bro, no matter what you do!

.

Meanwhile, in the same apartment with Bnan.

"Diane! Wake up!" shouted Enma to his daughter.

"It is still early, mom. Give me 5 more minutes." Diane replied half-asleep.

Enma shakes her head helplessly toward her daughter's behavior.

"We promise to decorate our porch, right? You're always like this!" nagged Emma.

"Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll get up." said Diane, but she does not seem to move at all.

Emma sighs and goes to their porch. She starts to take out a bunch of flowers from plastic.

"I'll just do it alone then! Hm, where is that thing..." said Emma while searching for something.

"Oh, there she is!" exclaimed Emma.

Emma tries to lift the flower holder...what we call it aye?

But unexpectedly, "Oh my god!" scream Diane loudly.

Oh yea, I remember, we call it vase! The vase slipped off Emma's hand and fell to the ground.

"Damn it! And that darn vase is quite suiting to my liking, Haih, never mind then." sighed Emma.

.

Bnan is whistling his favorite song or you can say try to whistle.

Son, it is a rap song! How you even thinking to whistle a rap song!

Bnan likes to sing, but he is a tone-deaf, such a pity.

Maybe he should go apply to enter some TV shows that showcase a program where you need to eliminate people who can't sing.

But suddenly, all of a sudden, Bnan feels agonizing pain on his head!

"What the-!" Bnan cries out loudly.

He loses his consciousness for a moment and his body falls to the ground.

Then, he tries opening his eyes but it seems he cannot open them for too long.

When his world nearly becomes black, he saw...a flower vase rolling in front of his eyes!

"Dammit, what a day. Just a random vase can kill me huh? I hope Caroline will not become too sad. Baha lol, what I am thinking." Bnan murmuring.

A drop of tear falls from his eyes as he has too many regrets, too many things he doesn't do yet, too many ambitions, too many, too many, too many.

"Why meeeeeee? Out of all the places you can fall. Why Vase-kun..." Bnan shouting...in his heart.
