A different World (3)

"Oh? Does she know about me?"

"First Miss…..actually, everyone is saying that you are dead and the head Furen and Mistress is not saying anything. They also told me that I should not say anything to anyone until they find out who is spreading these rumors."

"Mmmmm, go and tell mother and grandfather that I am awake and would like to see them."

"Yes, First Miss" replies Suyu before hurrying out the door.

I lay back down for a while before hearing two hurried footsteps.

"You're finally awake! Thank goodness! Both your grandfather and I have been worried sick that you might have fallen into coma again." Says beautiful mother.

I look up at both parent and ask the question:

"Did you find out anything?"

Grandfather looked at me puzzled before answering, "Not yet."

"Suyu says that people are saying that I am dead, yet here I am alive and well," I say while looking at grandfather.

"Rest assured, I believe this to be a good thing. Since they believe that I am dead, let it stay that way" I continue.

Mother looks puzzled and the glances at grandfather without saying anything and looks like she wants to say something but grandfather shakes his head.

I saw all of this but say nothing. Instead it was grandfather who finally asks.

"Why?"

"So we can stay in the dark while our enemies are in the light. Also, I would like you to look everywhere to find someone who can cure my legs. I don't believe it is incurable. Also. I would like two other servants. Both from cousin's courtyard."

They both look at each other again and then at me without asking anymore questions and say,

"Done!"

"I am kind of poor, I would also like more money" I say while remembering that I gave away more than half of my dowry to that Huanyou.

"Done!"

"Later today I will send some servants with some money for you to spend on anything your like."

"Mother, did you tell them what I said?"

"Yes, and they both were not too happy that a cripple would not know what's best for her."

"You should have seen the crown prince face when I told them what you said but at the same time you could see how happy he was to get out the engagement"

"No worries. All in due time," I reply to mother.

"I will also like if you made me a chair with wheels, so I could get around."
