Cyrene Kairais

Ezekiel was running to his house as the sun was beginning to lower over the mountains. He had cut it close this time. In only a few more hours the sun would have set on him, and then he would be screwed.

He walked up to his house quietly, and opened the door as softly as he could. He was trying not to alert his mother. She would give him a new one once she found out he was staying out almost till dark.

He quietly closed the door then sneakily tip toed towards his room. He scanned the house and did not even see a shadow of his mom. He let out a sigh of relief and began walking towards his room.

Once his hand grasped onto the handle he heard "Welcome back son!" and his hand froze in mid air. He gulped as he slowly turned around plastering a fake smile on his face trying to hide his anxiety.

"Hey Mum!" Ezekiel said in mock cheerfulness. He turned around and saw a homely looking woman who had brown hair and was mildly plump. She had brown eyes, and an aura around her that would make all people feel like protecting her. This was his mother Cyrene Kairais, however she was currently acting different than she normally did.

"So Ezekiel, dear. What were you doing out so late? hmm?" She said with a smile on her face. This smile was one of the scariest smiles he had seen on her face. This was not the normal tender and affectionate smile she had, but one that gave clear warning of the impending discipline.

Ezekiel laughed as he scratched the back of his head "I was erm..helping Grandpa Erick with his animals. They were quite rowdy today, so It took a while to calm them down". This was the excuse Ezekiel came up with, because he had a natural affinity with animals. He assumed it was due to the Monster Farm, but he didn't really know why.

"Oh really? Because I just was over there at his farm looking for you, and you were not there." She said as she tilted her head and knit her eyebrows as if she was confused as to why he was not where he said he was.

You have to know that Ezekiel was not the kind of kid to lie to his parents. Ezekiel knew he had been caught so he sighed and began to explain what he had been doing, even if he had to cover up the truth a bit.

"I was in the forest hunting for a chicken, so I could surprise you. I was not able to bring one home though" he said explaining where he was, but hiding the real reason he was there.

He did not like to lie to his parents, but something told him that if he told them of this Monster Farm it would bring them more harm than good. Maybe when he gets more power he can tell them, so if anything goes wrong he can protect them also.

As his train of though was drifting away he asked the system "Am I able to also bring people into the Monster Farm? Or is it only Beasts?" He asked in his mind.

"Once you gain more permissions you will be able to bring people into the Monster Farm" Genesis replied.

"Ezekiel! Ezekiel! Hey are you listening to me!" he heard his mother trying to get his attention and shook the thoughts from his head.

"Yeah I was just thinking of something" Ezekiel smiled.

Sighing his mother finally released her fierce smile. "Listen I know you want to help out the family, but making me worry for you is not doing us any good. Next time if you want to go into the forest tell you father, and he will go along with you. I don't want you to get hurt." She said as she pulled him into her arms.

Ezekiel smiled and felt a blanket of love and affection envelop him. A mothers embrace was the most comfortable thing after all.

"I know mom, next time I will pay more attention to time" He said.

His mom looked down and rapped him on the head with her knuckles.

"ow ow..ok ok, and I will take dad with me" He said as he clutched his head in mock pain. His father was David Kairais a hunter for the village, and was one of the stronger people in the village, however even they do not stay in the forest over night.

His mother smiled and kissed him on the spot where she previously knocked on his head. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to you" She said as she released him.

"I got it mom! Don't Worry!" He said as he patted his chest.

He mom smiled and shooed him off "Alright now you can go to your room. Dinner is almost ready, so when your father gets home come back out to eat" She said as she walked back into the kitchen to finish preparing dinner.

Ezekiel nodded and headed into his room. He loved his mother, but he sadly had to hide some things from her.

He clenched his fist as he resolutely though 'Once I am able to take people into my Monster Farm I will take my mom and dad, then we can travel together'. He headed into his room with determination filling him up.
