12 O'Clock Solar Lynx

His father turned to him and shouted "RUN!" as he went to intercept the beast jumping out of the bush.

Ezekiel ran, as his father told him straight towards the village. He only looked back once, and saw his father desperately fighting against the beast, slowly loosing his ground.

The beast was covered in orange fur, and had two sharp ears with white hairs sticking out of the top of them. Its piercing yellow eyes glaring at its prey. Ezekiel knew what this was, It was the Earth Rank-3 12 O'Clock Solar Lynx.

They were called 12 O'Clock's because they leave their nests when the sun is at its peak to hunt, because that is when their power is at its strongest. They are one of the few beasts that prefer to hunt during the day rather than at night.

His father was only a Earth Rank-1 warrior, and stood no chance against the Lynx, and Ezekiel knew it. He knew staying here would only be a burden to his father, so he ran towards to village to get help as fast as he could.

Imagining the death of his father he yelled as he ran, he knew that if he could get help in time, then he could save his father.

---

"Run" He said as he pushed his son away, sending him towards the village. David ran to intercept the Lynx trying to buy as much time as he could for his son.

His son was the most important thing for him, so he was willing to die in order to protect him. He ran at the Lynx as he pulled out his sword from his scabbard, and thrust it at the Lynx.

The Lynx would not fall for such a simple thrust and quickly evaded to the side, as it swept its paw towards David's gut.

David jumped back to dodge the swipe, as he switched the grip on his sword slashing back at the paw that was extended too far.

The paw was slashed, and the Lynx roared in pain glaring at David. The wound would not even physically impair the Lynx, but it still wounded its body, and its pride.

It, an Earth Rank-3 predatory beast was wounded by an Earth Rank-1 human. It was an outrage! The lynx quickly pounced at David attempting to pin him on the floor before going for the jugular.

As if anticipating this David rolled to the side out of the way. He got up as quick as he can to try and counter attack, but the Lynx was faster and was already swiping at him again. Its claws were fully extended, trying to catch a grip on David.

David was not fast enough to dodge this attack, so he tried to defend with his sword, and was blasted away by the Lynx and slammed into a tree. He coughed up blood due to the impact and shakily stood up to meet the next attack.

Beast and Humans both have their advantages and disadvantages. Humans are naturally smarter than beasts, while beasts are stronger than humans. And in this fight both parties are using their traits to their advantage. It is just that David is out leveled by the Lynx, so he can only do so much in the fight.

David shakily gripped his sword as he steeled his heart. He knew he might die today, and he was going to be alright with that. At least his son got out alive.

He smiled at the Lynx and said "Well if I am going to go down, I am going to take at least an arm of yours with me!"

David began to enjoy the fight, now that he had accepted death. He slashed at the Lynx as he received multiple wounds in return grinning all the while.

David clashed with the Lynx and this time his chest was raked by the claws leaving deep bloody gashes. David fell back onto the floor and sighed in grievance.

He was not grieving because he was going to die, He was grieving because he had to leave his wife and son. And he also was unable to take one of that bastard's arms off.

He lied there on the floor as the Lynx was taking heavy breaths glaring at him fiercely. This was the hardest battle the Lynx had ever had with such a weak opponent. It was an ambush predator, so it was not used to frontal fighting. This was also the reason that David could last as long as he did.

David closed his eyes as he waited for the claws of the Lynx to come. Slowly time passed and he heard a guttural growl from the Lynx. Hearing this David felt that this was the sound of his impending death. He closed his eyes as he waited for darkness to consume him.
