"Please set the name for your character."
"Zero."
You must be wondering about the name and its origin, but that's a long story and I might tell more about it later. Well I already finished editing character even though by editing they only allowed coloring, everyone will look the same as they do in real life, mind the colors. Which is something I approve of, it makes things simpler and reduces the number of country falling beauties and drop dead young masters, don't get me wrong I'm not judgmental or anything, I just don't like people trying to be something they are not, even if it's just in the looking department.
Well there's only a minute left before the game starts so let's warm up, mentally.
"Countdown 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Let the game begin!"
With a flash of white light I was transferred into some plain field in front of what seems beginner village, I look around myself and notice more and more people being spawned.
"Ok, time to start the blood rain." I mumbled as I started running in the opposite direction of the village towards the mountain in the distance. Oh why am I not picking up any quests you ask? It's quite simple actually, starting quests do give nice amount of EXP but nice amount isn't good enough for me so I decided to do something more extreme, in the future it will be called cross level grinding, which is basically just killing monsters that are higher level than you.
Every new player is spawned with set of plain clothes that give absolutely no bonuses and a wooden sword, which to be honest does less damage than fists, but there is at least safety of distance when you use that sword, however small that distance may be.
For the past year I trained really hard in a, well let's call it ancient movement technique and also footwork technique. Confused a bit? There is a difference between both, one focusing on moving and another focusing on dealing damage with legs. Why legs you ask? Well answer is quite simple, I don't have my preferred weapon so there is no point in using my fists when they are supposed to hold weapons, but mind you it's not like I can't or don't use my fists, I just prefer using my weapons. What are my weapons you ask? Let's keep that a secret for now, you won't have to wait for long before you find out.
As I ran down the fields I bypassed a lot of neutral monsters that don't generate agro if you enter their range. Fowls, rabbits, oozes, sheep's and goats alike, all different kinds of starting monsters. But soon as I started nearing forest at the foot of the mountain I noticed my stamina dropping to the bottom so I have to rest before I continue my journey.
Now let's take this time while I'm resting to explain about my current goal. First of all let's divide the forest in front of me into layers; entrance layer, mid layer, deep layer and mountain layer. My goal is somewhere in between of entrance layer and mid layer, it is a cave where a powerful beast resides. No, wrong answer, my goal isn't that beast; it's actually its cave, or what's inside it.
After resting for 15 minutes I continue with my running and on the way I pick up all kinds of branches I find on the ground and stash them into my inventory. Everyone starts with 20 inventory slots and some bread and water in it; luckily those branches are stackable so they don't take much of my inventory. Now to explain about branches, I need them for two reasons, one is fire and another one is to set up traps, you will know more about it soon enough.
Soon enough I enter the territory of wild foxes, those are level 5 monster and are quite vicious but cowardly monsters, they are fast and deal heavy damage but once they health drops to critical they try running away or call for backup.
Let's say it's my luck, or lack of any but I didn't even pass a hundred meter mark in the forest and I already encountered one fox. Now one of the differences between this game and rest of the games is that this game won't show you even basic of info's about the monster you engage because this game insists on its realism, but there's a catch, every player has its own monster encyclopedia and information about monsters in it is shareable between player via trade, but for you to get information about the monster you have to kill it first before you get a record of it.
That fox soon noticed me and it charged towards me, I use my footwork technique and sidestep it with a following kick to its rib cage. Fox yelped in pain and started growling at me after it landed, even though that kick wasn't anything special it carried quite an amount of force behind it, even though my current stats are restricting me from unleashing its full power.
The thing about stats in this game is it is actually somewhat hard to get them, you don't get them on level up, but there's plethora of ways to get them.
Back to the fox, considering it is charging towards me again it's obvious that its health isn't critical yet. It leaped on me with the speed that is hard to follow, but I didn't train for a year for no reason so I rolled under it and smashed it while rolling with my heel and it flew upwards, I ended my roll with a jump and flip, my next move would thrill a lot of football fans, scissors kick right in the head of the falling fox. The same fox smashed into the tree with the broken branch sticking out of its rib area.
