Wolf den

"Damn that was exhausting, I need to do something about this stamina problem, it runs out too fast it might kill me sooner or later." I mumbled as I walked towards the corpse of the fox to pick up my loot.

The thing about loot in this game is that it's possible to claim loot in two different ways, one is system loot where system loots everything for you but the price for that is drop in the quality of the things you get, and another way is to loot it yourself. You need its bones? Rip it out, you need its fur? Skin it then. Luckily for me quality doesn't matter much to me right now so I used system loot.

"+1 Wild Fox fur, +1 Wild Fox teeth, +3 Copper, +2 Wild Fox meat, +2 Wild Fox bones."

Convenient isn't it? Well I got what I needed from it so I can evade further foxes so I can avoid trouble.

Funny enough while I was sneaking around the forest towards the cave I generated new skill from it."

"Sneak skill created."

"Sneak 1/?: Reduces player presence and allows player to sneak past danger."

Skills like this generally don't cost mana if I didn't use it in the first place so it's quite handy skill for start. After an hour of sneaking through the forest my Sneak skill leveled up and I arrived at my destination. I was crouching behind a bush near the entrance of the mentioned cave. Inside this cave is a beast called Silvermoon wolf queen and it's a first elite monster I will encounter for now, my objective unfortunately isn't to fight it, at least not for now, I need to lure it out of the cave and rob it before it returns. This is where that fox and bunch of branches come in handy, I distance myself about hundred meters away from the cave and start stacking branches on a pile, after I piled up decent amount I started digging holes on random spots around the pile and sticking sharper branches into holes after which I cover them up with leaves to mask the holes. After about dozen of holes I got a notification from the system.

"Trap making skill created."

"Trap making 1/?: Creates a trap on a designated place. Mana (Optional): 5MP."

You might be wondering what that optional means, it is actually simple, system can create a trap instantly for me so I don't have to dig on my own but then it costs mana, unfortunately the cost is quite high and I can currently only create 2 traps before my mana totally empties out. For now my only way of regenerating mana is resting and that takes a minute per mana point to regenerate which would mean I can make one trap every five minutes. There is actually a problem with mana usage, once it hits 0 you get a debuff called Mana Depletion and it causes a hell of a headache until you regenerate at least a 10% of mana, which is currently only 1MP but that's still quite a problem because I have to endure a minute of pain if I overuse my mana. Per usual whatever system does for a player reduces quality of it, simply saying system gives you quantity and ease of making for the price of mana and quality but I don't need quality for this so I keep digging traps while making a new trap every five minutes while keeping my mana above 0.

After what seemed like an hour has passed I finished digging up traps I finally finished and can proceed with the next step of the plan. I came up to pile of branches and took out fox meat I had in my inventory placing it on a makeshift skewer I made out of thing branch and stuck it above the pile and slowly started igniting fire using wood rubbing method, after some time fire finally started and I sneaked back behind the bush in front of the cave entrance. Luring plan complete, next part is robbing, I don't know since when but I started feeling thrilled and adrenalin slowly took over my whole body as I waited for the scent of roasted fox meat to spread to the cave entrance.

It didn't take long for scent to spread and slowly the she wolf left the cave. Its look was amazing, it had silver white hair and it had air of majesty around it, it sniffed for a bit after leaving the cave and walked slowly towards the source of the smell, fully confident of itself.

I waited for half a minute when it left and quickly rushed into the cave and wandered inside it enveloped in darkness until I ran into wide expanded part of the cave which was lighted slightly with a variety of glowing stones embed in the walls.

At the far end of the cave was a pile of items scattered across the ground, I ran up to that pile and started quickly grabbing items.

"+1 Enchant stone, +1 Beast skin paper, +1 Rune forging manual, +2 Glow stone, +12 Unidentified bones, +2 Map fragments."

That was all the loot I could grab before I noticed a black furry ball next to the pile of items, because of the low visibility in the cave I took me some time to notice it, I quickly took out rune forging manual I grabbed and patted it on my forehead.

"Rune forging technique acquired, do you wish to learn it?"

"Yes." I answered quietly.

"Rune forging technique learned."

"Rune forging 1/?: Allows the player to draw simple runes. 2MP/Rune."

After that notification I took out beast skin paper and bit my finger using my blood to draw couple of runes which Gab thought me earlier. I swiftly drew runes with meaning of Soul, Bound, Synchronize, Life, Death.

It took me whole 3 minutes to draw up those runes and my mana is almost emptied, after which I took that paper and threw it at the black furry ball in front of me with a low shout "Bind!"

"Congratulations, you have successfully bounded with Blackmoon wolf."

"Soul bind with a beast detected, synchronizing bloodlines, synchronization successful."

"World announcement! Player Zero is the first player to successfully bind a creature! +100 general reputation +5 Gold."
