Surprise!

Su Clan Leader Su Bai, came out of his cultivation chambers three weeks after Kong Fang left for the forest. What greeted him was a wretched looking Su Pingdan.

It looked as if Su Pingdan hadn't slept in a month after being caught in a lightning storm. This typically immaculate looking aide of his looked beyond haggard.

"Pingdan, what happened?" the Clan Leader asked. "It's them," pointing with his thumb toward the outside, he immediately fainted. Once he saw the Clan Leader his last ounce of energy left him and he collapsed into an exhausted coma.

The Clan Leader was extremely surprised. He checked on the young man and found he was still breathing. He was alive at least.

Looking toward the outside, the Clan Leader heard some rumbling coming from outside. He left Su Pingdan on the ground intending to get someone to help him but thought he should see what is going on first.

Stepping outside, he saw all of the elders of the clan and some of the more important members of the clan looking at him angrily.

Some people looked fearful but all of them were staring daggers at the Clan Leader.

"It must be nice being the Clan Leader. You can hide away and cultivate and not worry about the Clan. 'The Clan what's it got to do with me, I'm just the Clan Leader.

Oh, I know, since I have nothing to do let me use up all of the resources of the clan. What, there's a crisis?

Someone else deal with it, I'm too busy cultivating in case I'm ever needed to do anything." This mocking voice came from Elder Su Kahn.

"Master Kahn, you better explain yourself!" The Clan Leader said angrily. "So you want him to explain himself, but all of us are here to hear you explain yourself 'Clan Leader,'" this time the person was Elder Su Mu.

Finally, the Clan Leader realized something was going on. He was confused, usually, Su Jo handled all of the problems in the sect.

"Where's Elder Su Jo?" asked the Clan Leader. "You mean the guy who actually runs the clan so you can use up the resources of the clan to make yourself stronger? He's left and joined the Yobai Clan," said Elder Kahn.

"He did what?!!!" exclaimed the Claim Leader. That traitorous bastard; if he got his hands on him he would definitely kill him!

"What are you upset about? If you did to me what you did to him, I'd probably join the Yobai clan as well," said Elder Kahn.

The Clan Leader was really stunned. "What did I do to him?" he asked. "Have you been so busy cultivating you forgot you had the Yobai Clan kidnap Elder Jo's son Mo?" asked Elder Mu.

"Yes! I mean, I never ordered such a thing," said the Clan Leader. "Really, it's amazing you say that because a weak prior to leaving the sect Master Su Jo tore apart the sect looking for his son. He had been kidnapped. Then after one week of not knowing where his son was, he received a letter from the Yobai clan.

He showed us the letter and it gave him two options. He could either enslave himself to the Yobai clan and save his son, or he could remain faithful to the Clan Leader who arranged to have his son kidnapped and sold to his enemy because he felt threatened," said Elder Kahn.

"But...But, I never did that!" yelled the Clan Leader. "If you didn't do it then tell us who did? Along with the letter from the Yobai Clan they sent another letter in your handwriting using the Clan Seal proposing the deal. Can you explain that?" asked Master Mu.

"No, I don't know, it wasn't me! You have to believe me!" said the Clan Leader. The Clan Leader was in a truly pitiable state.

He was very happy coming out of his cultivation session having made decent progress only to be faced with an angry mob, the betrayal of his right-hand man, and all of it seemed to be his own doing.

"Wait, I know, there's someone I have an arrangement with. He has connections and is even stronger than me. He'll help me get to the bottom of this!" declared the Clan Leader. Everyone was very interested in this person so they patiently waited.

Sending his sense into his spatial Ring he tried to find the pledge stone but couldn't find it as well as a few other things. He had been robbed!

"Who stole my pledge stone?! I've been robbed! I can't contact that expert now!" The Clan Leader was feeling very bitter about the situation.

"Well, isn't that convenient," said Elder Kahn.
