A Big Brown Bear

Leona who was not in good shape earlier was getting fine after she took a short nap.

Agnes: "It was a quick healing!" She was impressed.

She looked at Leona who opened the can of biscuits the she gulped the soy drinks.

Leona: "Was it a compliment? Huh…" She chuckled and wiped her mouth.

She was looking around. She saw Uncle Bob and Uncle Matt already fell asleep in their sleeping bag. They didn't lit the fire as they worried such fire would attract the wild animal there.

Leona: "I want to check around" said her and put her small dagger into her right black boot. She tied up her silky hair into a bun hair.

Agnes: "Wait, I'll go with you." She also grabbed her knife and put it to her right black boot.

Leona: "Alright, let's go."

They both slowly walked down to the hill and inspected the surrounding. The light from the moon led their way. It was bright enough and they could stroll around with less effort.

Not far from the foot of the hill, they could hear the sound of streaming river. They both hurriedly went down to the river. It was a scenic view with the beautiful natural landscape with the small rocks along the bank. Before they entered the cold and fresh water of the river, Leona held Agnes' arm and pulled her to her knees.

Agnes: "Wha.." She was shocked and looked at her.

Leona: "Shhh.."

She signaled her to shut her mouth. Even though it was under the moon light but she could see Leona's expression clearly. She almost forgot that they were in the dark because of the moon light.

They both bent down and tried to hear and observed surrounding from the bush of wild flowers.

"Shit!! What are the two of you doing here?" A male voice suddenly abrupt the silence.

It was Don!

He was lying in the river to wash himself half naked not far from their hiding.

Leona: "It's Don! We thought someone else here!"

Leona and Agnes came out from their hiding and walking to the river.

"Bad… you should share the nature you know, don't you?" Leona added and slowly submerged her both leg into the river after took of her boots.

Don was a few meters away from the girls.

Agnes washed her face after she reached the flowing river. While Leona washed her arms and face.

Suddenly the three of them were stunned when they heard a growl not far from them.

Leona hurriedly took out her dagger and looked around. Don also hurriedly came out from the shallow river and grabbed his knife as well.

They both already on guard to look at the growl sound just few steps away from them. Not far from their spot, a big bear walked toward them.

Leona: "What should we do?" Their eyes still looking at the big sized bear.

Don: "Just don't move."

Leona: " Seriously?" She said in her whisper and looked at him by only moving her eyes.

Agnes also stood near Leona with her dagger in her hand.

The brown bear in huge figure walking toward them. They could see it by the help of the moon light. The three of them just stood still and watched the bear. They gripped their knives tightly. They breathed slowly even though their heart beating like crazy!

The bear already seen them and then suddenly raised it big paws and tried to hit Leona. Leona was able to dodge in and move to the other side of the bear. Agnes also jumped to the back. Don instantly kicked the bear hard, right to its shoulder and it made the bear few steps moved backward.

Leona who was right behind the bear, tripped the bear with her body. The bear turned to its back and their eyes met. The bear was on top of her body. Leona hurriedly raised her knife and waited to see the bear's reaction. The bear opened its mouth and wanted to bite her shoulder. She pierced the eye of the knife right to the bear's right eye.

The bear growled in pain and then its left paw hit Leona's arm. Leona kicked and pushed the bear hard to make it moved away from her body but the bear still toppled her body down it. They both struggled and then suddenly the bear didn't move.

Don and Agnes hurriedly stabbed the bear from the back. But the bear didn't move.

Agnes: "Leona! Don , please move the bear!"

She tried to push the bear away and then Don followed pushing away the bear with all his strength. The bear was huge! They could not see Leona under its body! They both struggled to move the body.

When they able to move the bear away, Leona was covered with the blood all over her face and body. They were not sure whose blood was it belonged.

Their face were totally pale to see their colleague in that state.

Don: "Leona!

Agnes: "Leona!"

They both called out her name out loud.
