Desire to Kill

Two months passed while Henry was in a coma. Numerous surgeries had to be done to realign his neck and spinal column, along with insert artificial teeth but no one could know if he would be able to ever move again much less speak until he woke up and did some tests. This was not even considering the definite brain damage he had sustained.

Henry finally awoke but it was at the worst possible times, well that's what everyone else thought at least. Henry opened his eyes to find himself on an operating chair. The surgeons did not notice that Henry had opened his eyes due to the fact that they were operating on the back of his neck and could not see his face.

Henry was sitting at a ninety-degree angle with monitors face directly down at him for the surgeons to look at. Henry stared at the monitor showing his cut open neck seeing the muscle and bone. He knew he should be scared perhaps even panicking but he felt nothing.

Instead, he stared at the monitor with interest as if it was not his own body. A feeling of complete disconnection washing over him, almost as if he was merely watching a movie or TV. This went on for five whole minutes as he felt everything that was being done while also watching it happen in real time. He had to admit that it was an odd sensation.

Seeing the inside of your own body watching someone move parts around and make adjustments. It ended when a nurse screamed when she saw his eyes open looking at the monitor. She composed herself as the surgeons gave her a death glare.

The smallest mistake, the smallest twitch in their hands could cause irreparable nerve damage, yet this nurse actually thought it appropriate to suddenly scream so loudly in the middle of this extremely delicate operation? The surgeons cursed her in their minds. Luckily though the surgeons were extremely experienced and calm, always prepared for anything unexpected that would require lightning speed reaction.

So unlike everyone else in the room who jumped at the nurse's sudden screamed they managed to stay composed. The nurse struggled to collect herself before explaining the reason for her sudden outburst. "H-he's awake." She said in the clearest way she could.

The two surgeons eyes widened before looking to the anesthesiologist. After walking to the front and seeing Henry's face the surgeons saw his eyes widening as well, thereby confirming what the nurse said. The anesthesiologist quickly increased the dosage of anesthesia causing Henry to slowly fade back to sleep.

When he awoke again he was in a large hospital room that looked much homier and more luxurious than any regular room a patient would get. This was the hospital's way of attempting to avoid a possible lawsuit due to the fact that he woke up mid-operation.

Henry's mother could be heard arguing with one of the surgeons just outside the room. Henry tried calling out to find he could not speak but he regained movement in his arms at least allowing him to hit the call nurse button on his bed.

A minute after he pressed the button a nurse could be heard talking with the doctor before everyone rushed in. His mother was in tears as she saw her son awake for the first time in months. She had managed to be strong these past months spending hours on the phone arguing with insurance and the hospital.

She had kept in all her stress and worry and it all came rushing out as she finally saw that her son was awake. She collapsed next to Henry's bed as she held onto his hand repeatedly telling him that everything was ok now and that she was there for him and wasn't going anywhere.

Henry felt slightly touched in his heart but found that he also felt slightly detached as well. The thought moved to the back of his mind as the surgeon explained that he would be unable to speak for the time being estimating approximately one week before he can make simple sounds and words and two weeks before being able to speak somewhat fluently.

Three weeks was estimated for a complete recovery. The hospital would keep him there for another month so they could monitor him and begin doing physical therapy along with an examination from a psychologist to point out any behavioral abnormalities that may be caused by brain damage.

One week passed in the blink of an eye as he finally started doing physical therapy. Over the past week, Henry had been slightly uncomfortable as he had to communicate with a nurse for help going to the bathroom. Due to this, he was extremely eager to become independent again.

Normally physical therapy would take months possibly even years before a full recovery. Henry though was showing different tendencies. He himself noticed that although he felt pain when walking and moving it did not stop him because it felt as though it wasn't his own pain.

He also used to be extremely anxious about needles but found that he could now watch his blood be drawn without a problem. Whenever he watched his blood get drawn he was fascinated as he imagined his heart pumping blood directly into that vein before it is punctured and his blood pushed through the tube.

He was so fascinated that he wished he could cut open another human or an animal to see how their bodies worked. He wanted to experiment what would happen if different things were injected into the bloodstream while the subject was cut open as he followed the vein of injection directly to the heart.

After showing significant improvement in his physical therapy over another week he began meeting with a psychiatrist for examination. Henry explained some of the things he had been experiencing over two weeks but did not go into detail as he did not feel the need to.

Due to a lack of in-depth information, he was merely diagnosed with a lack of some emotion and feeling due to traumatic brain injury. He was prescribed some pills that would help his body regulate his emotions but there wasn't much that could be done for his lack of feeling.

Before long a full month had passed and he was cleared to head home. He had to visit a month from now for a checkup in which future appointments would be made as needed. Henry was now able to walk and function on his own with the help of crutches.

Although he had not recovered his fine motor skills making it difficult for him to type on a phone or keyboard at the moment it was enough to survive. In relation to this, no physical therapy sessions were needed as the longer time went on as he returned to his regular schedule his motor skills would return.

School had been out for a week now so he did not have to worry about such things at the moment. and even if he did it was likely he wouldn't be forced to go and his mother might actually try to keep him home.

Henry realized though when he thought about school he no longer felt anxiety like before he felt...nothing. He had taken the medications he was prescribed but they did not seem to be very effective as in reality, things were not as simple as just a lack of some emotion.

After another month had passed Henry was able to walk on his own again without help and school was now three weeks away from starting up again. His parents had sat him down and talked to him about going back saying that they could switch to home-school if he wanted which they were hesitant to do in the past no matter how much Henry wanted it.

If it was the past he would have immediately jumped at the opportunity but this was not the past and he was not the same. He thought only for a moment before rejecting the offer saying he wanted to try and attend school regularly.

Another week had passed before his parents were finally comfortable to leave Henry at home alone. As such the house was all his until his parents got off work. The first thing he did was check his brother's room he had been curious due to the fact that he had not seen him in all the time he had been out of the hospitable.

He was slightly worried by this as he knew his brother although mean most of the time cared for him in his own way. Sometimes when he and his brother were alone his brother would tell him that he had his back and if anyone tried anything than to come to him.

Upon entering his brother's room he found all his belongings were still there and neatly put away. Henry was shocked as he had never seen the room so clean before which made him more curious where exactly his brother was.

Just as he was thinking about his he heard the neighbor's dog barking. He was immediately enraged by this as that dog barked all night and although it did not affect him much he would often see bags under his mom's eyes from a lack of sleep.

Combined with the work loud she often had she was getting in worse and worse shape. No matter how much they tried speaking to their neighbor about it he would completely disregard them. The police could not do much as well as it had not been going on for a long enough time and there were not enough complaints.

To Henry thought it had gone on way past long enough. He had lain awake at night trying to think of a way to get rid of the problem. It did not take long before the idea of just killing it popped into his head. This idea then evolved to experimenting on it, 'May as well make its death useful.' he thought to himself.

The only thing missing was the proper tools to dissect the dog. He had thought about using the collections of knives in the kitchen but he did not want to do that as he would have to explain the reason some knives disappeared on occasion which may, in turn, lead to more questions.

He did not want this so he decided to save money to buy a kit of blades and other tools such as clamps and the likes. The only problem being that such kits would cost a lot of money if he were to get the better quality ones and he already resolved to get nothing less than the highest quality.

He had to come up with a way to get money and order the kits online all without his parents finding out. This was when he remembered that for the past months his computer should have been running all this time.

Henry had always been the tech-savvy type and hopped on the bitcoin bandwagon as soon as it had gained publicity. As such he had long been part of a well-established mining pool for two years. He had 0.7 bitcoins due to him contributing a large amount of computing power to the pool.

This was already more than enough to buy what he needed. As such he opened up a special browser to access the deep web on the lookout for what he needed. A smile spread across his face as he finally found a kit that contained everything he could want in one bundle.

He immediately clicked on it opening a chat with the anonymous individual who was responsible for selling the product. The first thing he saw when the chat opened was, "Bitcoins only do not waste my time non-negotiable.". Henry slightly chuckled as he imagined how many people had come to him to cause him to set that as the first thing one saw in the chat.

Henry sent a message saying he had the bitcoin and was ready to proceed with the purchase. The person on the other end greeted him politely after knowing he wasn't another idiot who thought they could just use their credit card.

A special software was used to send the bitcoin for the product and fees for overnight shipping. Overall it cost him 0.03 bitcoin or 193.35 USD which was the value of that amount bitcoin at the time of purchase.
