Many new recruits suddenly felt uneasy. Just as Sergeant Connell had stopped talking, a large group of people appeared in the darkness outside, forming a circle to surround the recruits in the middle of the square. The recruits were perplexed, and suddenly began shouting out in fear and confusion...
"This is bad! We're surrounded!"
"What's going on here?"
"The recruits' rules? What does that mean?
"Sergeant Connell, what are you doing?"
The crowd grew even more restless, as everyone felt the hostility of the veterans. Even though they didn't know what was going to happen next, they were certain that it wouldn't be good.
"Sergeant Connell, what are the recruits' rules?" Steve stood up and asked.
Sergeant Connell gazed playfully at the recruits below, then replied, "Today's program shall allow the veterans and recruits to get along well in the future. In the army, we believe only in strength and in the comrades around us. Hence, fighting is vital."
