Demotion

"hello" an almost terrified voice said. Roy said it instinctively. Obviously, this person was strong. Just the fact that he could use portals showed that he was one of the experts in GW. If he was an NPC, and this was an event, then Roy thought maybe he had a way out, but he wasn't sure. He had a difficult time thinking, but because of the fact that he had attributes that made him around 41 times smarter than normal people, he still kept a somewhat "calm" mind. After all, he was in a few life threatening situations. But there was still the problem of soul suppression. That was something like mental suppression, but it would suppress the whole soul because of the mayor difference between the power of each soul. It would literally make the weaker person's soul shake and tremble. If the stronger person didn't control their presence or aura, the weaker one's soul could actually shatter and collapse.

[Achievement - Meeting an Admin:

Meet n' greet an Admin of GW

Title - "Connections 10"]

"admin?" Roy somehow managed to ask himself.

"Shh sh sh" the Admin laughed. "That's how you find out? Yea, 'm an Admin. I'm Zack!" The man grinned.

"You're lucky to get to 'now me. You know?"

"who the hell is Zack for me to be lucky to meet him?" Roy thought. Trying to maintain a neutral expression. But his face made an awkward expression, that seemed to be someone's being in a meeting with powerful people and being nervous, but trying to maintain a happy face. Making it just weird.

"Who the hell? An Admin." Zack said.

"I just wanted to give you a skill for being "nice" to my tree. This skill will save you from basically anyone or anything you meet."

[You were given a Skill:

Complete Demotion]

"???"

"Complete? Sure, I'll bite!"

"Complete Demotion" Roy initiated the skill while thinking and looking at Zack. He thought that this was the only way out of this situation. Plus, his mind was hazy, so he probably didn't make such a great decision.

"Shh sh sh" Zack laughed. "Just like I thought you'd do. I usually can't directly influence the world, but if I'm just "generous" and give a skill to someone, how can I be held responsible? Well thank you!" Zack grinned.

[Complete Demotion - Picking random target]

And something like carnival wheel started spinning before Roy. Seemingly having endless parts to chose from, each marked with a different color. It spinned so fast, it seemed like one whole color.

After awhile, it started slowing down. Zack sat next to Roy, like he also saw his system's options.

You could now start seeing some words, because of their glows, golden colors, elemental effects, etc.

There were things like "Random - 500 000 people", "Random - 1 750 Ice Elemental monsters, "3 Persons garden plants", and so on. It seemed like almost every possibility was listed here. That was probably because the Complete Demotion could apply to everything. A rock could be turned into dirt, a diamond into poo, butterfly into a bacteria...

It spinned for a few seconds, and started slowing down. There were a few "special" parts close to what seemed like the stopping of the wheel. One was "Intended Target", and another "User", which shocked Roy. What would happen if it landed there? Would he become a useless blob of goo? He didn't dare think of it.

There was also something else that was close. It was "Everything". What horror would happen if it landed on that?

But Roy didn't know that there would be another wheel spin to decide the type of demotion. It would be to decide what would be demoted. But because he didn't know that, he panicked.

The wheel started landing on "Everything", it seemed like fate. "Ohh? I ques my "innocent" wish worked its wonders." Zack said.

[Complete Demotion - Everything]

*...*

"f*ck..." a thought came.

[Complete Demotion - Choosing type of demotion]

"Huh?"

"Yes! I won't destroy the universe!" Roy's happy thoughts escaped.

"No no no, wait a little longer. This one was completely random. I've literally chosen this one from a list. It took me a whole week writing the types. And I think you'll like it. Shh sh sh" Zack laughed again.

It spinned.

"Who are you?" Roy somehow asked, almost unfazed. It was probably because the worry of demoting everything was greater than meeting an Admin.

"Shh sh, I'm Zack." Zack said.

*Visible Shock*

"What you're Zack? How can that be? Nobody in the world knows you, so that doesn't mean anything to me dumba... doesn't mean anything to me." Roy quickly corrected himself.

"Heh, humans really are amazing, calling an Admin a dumbass. Bravery to the end huh? Well, maybe I'll tell you sometime later. Let's just watch the show." Zack said in excitement.

"..."

They waited a little longer. And the wheel landed on:

[God World System]

"???"

"How the hell will that work?" Roy asked.

"Shh sh sh, not the reaction I thought I'd get, but still something. Well, bye Roy. Nice meetin' ya." Zack chuckled and made a hand gesture.

"Hey! Wait! What will happen!" Roy said as he was being sucked inside a portal.

"Oh, and I forgot to tell you," Zack said as Roy was being dragged trough the portal. "You can reverse the effects of the spell, but it'll be hard." He said in confident tone.

"What?! Hey! How?!" Roy yelled back, but it was already too late. He was back at the tree.

[System Announcement:

GW will update in 1 HOUR. If you have the chance, get somewhere safe so the update won't put you in danger, if there will be new confusing features.

This feature was initiated because of an Admin. If you think it's a mistake or bug after the update, please contact us through Support.]

"Update? No, it must be Zack's trick to make people happy and look forward to it."

"Tch, using suppression to make me do things. he tricked me! How's that fair? I can't be hold accountable for this!"

"..."

"No... It's my fault as well. If I wasn't so weak, I could have fought him off, or at least do something. But it did seem like he was super powerful. I mean, he was an admin, so he must be strong, right?" Roy contemplated.

"Shaaajt... I should get into the town, or something might happen." Roy also checked the skill he got.

[Complete Demotion (active):

Demote a Random number of things, monsters, or people, by a Random degree.

Cooldown - 1 Month - Special Requirements have to be meet]

*Sigh*

"I've really f*cked things up today."

"But he did say I can reverse the changes. I ques I'll just have to look for a way to reverse things if the changes will be too big. But what did it mean it'll demote the GW System of everything. Will we lose it? Or will it become more of a burden than a blessing?"

*Gritting teeth*

"I should't have come here in the first place. Why did he pick on me of all people? Did I hurt him in my former life? Probably, or maybe he picked me at random and wanted me to rack my brain over it. Gaaah! Dumbass, yeah, I called you a dumbass..." The more Roy thought about it, the angrier he got.

*...*

He arrived and entered Dener. And as he entered, he heard cheering. People were yelling about how happy they that another update came, and discussed what it would be this time. GW updates normally came about every 15 years. The first update came in the 15th year, 2nd in the 35th year, and the last one in the 45th year. Now, it was only about 5 years, so people were ecstatic. Why wouldn't they be? Every time an update happened, there were great changes that made everybody happy.

The update came at exactly 2 o' clock in the morning. People heard the news before the update, so a lot of people rushed in GW to see the changes for themselves.

[Update 4 - 2.00 Am 7. 7. 2116 BW (world of blessed):

We're changing the way the GW System works.]

"YEAH!"

"WOOOO!"

"..."

[The biggest change will be to attributes.]

"HELL YEA!"

[Levels will now only add 1 Attribute Point.]

"F*CK YE...? Huh?"

"WHAT?!"

"HOW'S THAT GONNA WORK?!"

"YEA! WE'LL BE TOO WEAK TO FIGHT MONSTERS!"

[The same will be for monsters and other NPCs.]

"?!"

"!?"

[INT and WIS will now work the same way other attributes work.]

"..."

"Well, I ques that's good thing..."

"Shadup!"

[Everyone that has already leveled up will undergo the same change. If you are level 15, you will now only have +15 Attribute Points.]

"WHAT?!"

"NO!"

"YOU CANNOT DO THIS!"

"YEA, GW IS OURS, NOT YOURS!"

"well I mean, they(?) did make it, so it is their..."

"SHADUP!"

"WHAT DO YOU KNOW!"

[We know that some of you will probably be upset by this change.]

"NO SH*T!"

[But you can thank a certain person that "persuaded" us to make this change.]

"WHO?!"

"WE DEMAND THAT PERSON'S NAME!"

"YEA!"

[There will also be other big changes. One for example, is a new type of primary mana, which we decided to add all on our own.]

"WELL GOOD JOB!"

"YEAH! YOU DID IT!" Sarcastic voices yelled on the streets.

[End of announcement.]

"..."

[;D]

"Oh fack off lads!"

"YE... huh?"

"What did you say?"

"Geezer, you don't know what this means. We will become incomparably weaker than we were before!"

"Dude, I think he's an NPC... So he doesn't see announcements. It's just natural to them... He thought we're yelling at thin air..."

"..."

"Let's just go home..."

"Yeah, the mood's ruined..."

Roy didn't know how to react. He was 10k times stronger than normal people before, but now, he'll be just 11 times stronger. That's a whole factor of 1000. Now, if you wanted to be as strong as you were at level 11 (with normal base attributes), you would have to be level 2000+. That was basically unheard of.

Fortunately, monsters and other NPCs would experience the same "nerf" / debuff. Even so, people still wanted the overbearing power at only level 10. If you could make it to the small milestone of level 20, you'd be a Million times stronger than a normal human. Now, you'd only be 20 times stronger than a normal human.

And even though INT and WIS would now work the same way as other attributes, they would still rise much slower than they would normally. Before, you'd be 60 times smarter than normal people at level 20, and now you'd be only 20 times. Incomparable!

Most people didn't know how to deal with this change. It also felt "really good" being smart, and having a clear mind. But now, they will be "dumber". They couldn't learn half as fast as before, and they would think that they are dumb by their former standards.

The higher levels would have it even tougher. At level 100, you would have attributes the power of 10^30, now , you'd only have attributes at the power of 101. You couldn't imagine the difference. The former could beat the latter by just thinking about winning in that fight, literally!

The "smallest debuff" would be to INT and WIS. They would literally be one third as effective as they were before.

The only good news was that there was another type of Primary Mana added. If it was stronger than Dragon, at least something good would happen. But it still couldn't compensate over the loss of attributes.

Roy was terrified, shocked, dazed, etc. He thought that people would kill him if they found out. He just wanted to dig a hole, and hide in it.
