The Door of Viaje (8)

"Why... Did you ask me to marry you?" Leena and Izak were both keeping watch a little ways from where Eric and Amira were sitting. She decided to talk to him since she had nothing better to do.

"You probably don't remember but when you first met me you would run up to me and cling to me, tell me how cute and handsome you thought I was. You were so small but so spirited." Izak turned to look at Leena, she quickly looked away with her bright her tomato cheeks.

"Why don't I remember this?" Her eyes became like a hawk and narrowed them sharply towards Izak. He couldn't help but laugh at the adorable face she made. To him it was only a matter of time before Amira's binsho completely dispels. To a regular human living in the Capital it would mean that she wouldn't be able to recollect her memories but she wasn't normal. She was the last of her kind and one day will be much stronger than Amira will ever be.

"Amira erased the memories you had of me when she first erased your memories of you recognizing your power. I don't know why but after it happened I confronted her about what she had done and she only said that it needed to be done." Leena's expression became saddened, almost puppet like.

"Why didn't she trust to tell me the truth?" Her question wasn't directed to anyone but Izak felt like he needed to input some thought. He knew this whole time after all and didn't say anything to her, not that he could step anywhere near her before now because he sister had filled her head with so many false ideas about me.

"I'm not sure why she would keep you in the dark. I know you trust her but so many things are never what they seem. I was never able to know the real intentions of everything that she did." Izak didn't know the real reason for Amira's actions but he could never help but feel she was up to no good. "Whatever the case. I'm here for you."

"You two go ahead and rest. I'll take the next watch." Eric called out from behind the two sitting on a well placed rock, he hadn't realized that Leena had fallen asleep. Her head laid on Izak's shoulder and suddenly Eric's loud noises softened. "Sorry." Izak couldn't hide the annoyed look on his face but he only nodded.

"Let her sleep. I'll switch with you when she wakes up." Eric was a little disturbed by the seem, Leena leaning on Izak when he's been a cold character in their lives so far. He didn't like it one bit but he wasn't willing to argue and just let her rest.

"Maybe its best if you lay her next to me. I'll keep her company." Amira called out gently to both of them. Izak was hesitant but he agreed in the end letting Eric pick her up, carry her over to Amira who was up against a tree.

"Someone coming." Izak jolted up and closed his eyes to zone in onto the presence. Normally a technique like this would take years to master but they were desperate and they were doing everything possible to keep Leena safe. "We need to wake her up." He glanced over the sleeping body while everyone else turned the frozen panic alarm on their bodies.

"I can feel them." Eric turned to Amira. "We have to go."

"Go ahead. I'll carry Leena." Izak couldn't wait for her to fully respond to him, it would take too long for her to come to her senses and by then it would be too late. He lifted her into his arms and carried her right behind the others.

Leena's body was weak. Her body felt cold and she could hear voices but she couldn't here the words they were saying. Her eyes weren't opening but she felt her body up against another moving hastily. "Something's not right. Leena feels sick."

Amira turned around in desperation. "She isn't sick, she sensed danger and she's getting ready to explode raw power, it's happened once or twice before. She doesn't know how to control it." She looked around and spotted an oak tree. No other tree would be able to resist. "Quick, put her on the rock over there and run as fast as you can to that oak tree."

"Why would I leave her?" Izak wasn't happy with Amira's suggestion but he had no idea what was happening to her body and he didn't have time to further investigate. Her body sweat was steaming out of her from every pore with a light aura surrounding her. He wasn't sure what else to do, he set her lightly on the rock and ran as fast as he could.

"Just trust me! We'll come back for her when it's done!" Amira knew Izak was concerned for her but she knew what was best, they continued to run until they reached the oak tree.

Kreighton had taken initiative and followed his soldiers west. After not having any luck with getting information from Clarine he felt that west was a good way to go since it was deep into the woods. He caught up to his men rather quickly using his mountain bike commanding them to sweep northwest, southwest and some followed him directly west. To him these people were valuable, if his father trusted him with this task, he shouldn't have. For years he tried to find a way find come up from his father's shadow and the Fiena was his solution. He alone would reign over the the country and the capital.

Minutes later there was a sudden burst of deadly power coming from the direction where his men trailed off to from the west. He immediately created a barrier of dirty, weeds, plants, wood and roots surrounding himself, what was that? Was that the Fiena? After the threat dispersed he released the barrier and raced in the direction of the explosion to find a little girl laying on a rock. This is the Fiena, he body was radiating of a light aura and although it was dark he recognized the same ember eyes he's seen before.

She wasn't a delicate beauty but you can see from one look that she was a warrior. A beauty with power that this world had felt threatened by and killed off. "You must be the Fiena." Kreighton kept his distance to not scare the girl that looked more confused than ever. He had hoped that she would be older but she was just a child and with a power like that, he would never be able to control it.

"Who are you?" Leena looked around trying to spot any of her friends or cousin but the only one that stood here was this man. She wasn't afraid, the power she felt earlier was hers. Her only dilemma was learning how to control it and no one would be able to hurt her, theoretically. If there were more soldiers, realistically, she couldn't possibly take all of them on.

"My name is Kreighton. I am from the House of Vadesh. I have sought you out to fulfill my wish but I fear I was greatly mistaken upon hoping for this." Kreighton bowed before Leena. "The last of the Fiena, I plegde my life to you." Leena winced but Kreighton knew exactly what was being exchanged. He felt the gruesome power she exerted and even though her kind may have been extinct she was a natural born leader. One day she will take over the capital and open the land to it's once wonderful glory.

"What kind of wish were you hoping I would grant you? I'm not a genie." Her witty comeback gave Kreighton some light, he smiled and followed her lead.

"I was hoping you would help me overthrow my father but you have just proven to me that I am not yet ready to lead nor will I ever. I would like to offer you anything I can." Kreighton wasn't strong enough and he knew that now, he just had to be patient and follow the only person he thought would do better than anyone. If he took the houses it would only be in her name. "What is your name, Fiena?

"My name is Leena, my friends and I are looking for the Door of Viaje. Have you any idea how I may find it?" Leena sat there looking at this man, she trusted him. He couldn't have harmed her but he didn't instead he pledged his life and demanded nothing. This was his honor.

"Get away from her!" A familiar voice behind Leena approached, she swung her head to find Izak with a long sword at hand and Eric with a bow pointing his arrow towards Kreighton.

"Izak, Eric it's okayput your weapons down. Kreighton here is going to help us find the Door of Viaje." Leena looked over their shoulders to find Amira confused, she can't have him around. If what they did is said among them, she would never be able to face Izak. Even Eric knows what happened.

"You can't listen to him Leena. He is a Vadesh, having him along is dangerous." Leena's right eyebrow arched, Amira's words seemed like a joke. Why was she so afraid?

"As opposed to all the lies you told me. I think I can figure things out for myself. He's pledge his loyalty to me after he witnessed the extent of my powers. I trust that he can help us." Leena knew her words stung Amira but she couldn't let herself be manipulated anymore. It was her turn to accomplish her mothers wishes and live the life she wanted for her.

"You're just a child Leena, you can't possibly--" Amira was pushing every button she possibly could. Her cousin was running at a hundred miles and she couldn't even reach her anymore and all because of this power. Leena carried a fierce expression.

"I'm not a child ,Amira, I am a Fiena. As much as I would like to seek revenge for my people and for my parents. I will fulfill my mothers wish and go through the door as she wanted me to.

Kreighton was a bit disappointed but he understood that although she was a warrior her heart was in the right place. Maybe destroying the capital to rebuild it wouldn't have been the best idea to begin him. "I don't know where to find the stones but I do know of someone who might."

"Lead the way."
