It is time...

The rays of sunlight beamed through the window onto the girls beautiful face, out of instinct she opened her eyes to come face to face to a wooden ceiling. There had been an elderly plumped lady with a bun dusting the window sills and a clump of flowers in a vase on the far end of the room where the two walls meet. The elderly lady hummed, nonchalantly as she walked along the wall. "I'll come bring fresh flowers tomorrow, these are starting to wither." She said to herself.

The elderly lady picked up the dirty sheets that were placed on the bench at the foot of the bed, turning to leave the room she was startled by the sight of emerald eyes looking at her. She dropped the duster and the sheets lifting her hand to cover her horrifying gasp. "General!" The elderly lady called out for the General a few more times before running out of the room at full speed.

When the elderly lady returned she brought a tall, built man, warm brown eyes and black hair with white streaks on both his beard and his head. The man, referred to as the General, stepped closer to the bed bending to looked deeply into her the girls opened eyes. "Can you hear me?"

The girls felt a slight pinch from her stiff neck but gave the man a gentle nod. "Can you talk?" The girl opened her mouth to say something but only empty air came out. The little girl tried to move her arm to touch her throat but she felt too weak to move.

The General noticed her slight movement and realized that she hadn't fully recovered consciousness throughout her body. "It's okay, take your time. Ms. Folly here will bring you some food and I'll have a doctor come right over."

The girl look at the General in appreciation before he and Ms. Folly walked out of the room.

Two days later.

"Cindy's back. Apparently the girl that saved Dark City all those years ago is awake." Linx was holding the wooden sword and sparring with Nyla in their sandy pit on the far side of the Fei's House courtyard while their master went off to meet Nyla's father, Lord Fei.

"I don't understand, they said she's human but that she's different. Wouldn't a doctor do just fine? Different or not, having Cindy play here every time the General thinks there's something wrong just feels odd." Nyla was reminded of the Clain's worried expression every time Cindy traveled to the Dark City. He was a distant person to begin with but he was so incredibly handsome. He trained hard along side them to become a better warrior when he first should up at the Fei house with General Tross.

Five years ago, the General came and introduced him to Nyla and her adopted brother, Linx. He was just sixteen then but under the careful eye of the General and sheer determination he had to protect the girl he grew strong than both Nyla and Linx in under a year after training with them. He was definitely on par with their master or even stronger at this point.

Nyla thrust her wooden sword harder attacking Linx head on pushing him back. "Maybe, we should go introduce ourselves?" She was curious about this girl, she had the attention of the fairy elder and the General. What could be so special about her?

Linx was loosing his footing but he defended all of her attacks eventually finding an opening and disarming her. He smirked, zoning his deep blue eyes in on Nyla and laughed genuinely. "You're just jealous that Clain pays more attention to her even though she was asleep all this time."

Linx walked to the side where a bench was waiting for him with his cup of water. He grabbed the copper cup and threw some water over his jet black hair, gliding his fingers through to give a proper visual of his well cut six pack and biceps. "Who knows, maybe the general will send her here to train. He has kept her next to him all this time after all."

Nyla rolled her eyes at Linx, she wasn't happy at all. Linx and Nyla were on track to become commanders of their own platoons but something in the air made her feel uneasy about this girls awakening. They we both seventeen, Nyla was trained from birth to become a true warrior since her oldest brother would be the diplomat to govern the city after her father. Linx, on the other hand, was adopted by her father at the age of five because he was causing ruckus on the city streets and he saw fight within him.

Although Nyla was slightly older than Linx these two got along extremely well and were able to finish each others sentences like twins.

"I don't know what it is but something feels different." Nyla came up to stand next to Linx, she glanced towards the direction of the General's house, took Linx's cup and drank the rest of his water. "Just watch my back."

"And you watch mine." The both looked at each other, laughed and went back into the sand pit to continue sparring.
