The Talking Crystal (2)

"In that case, Prince Adam's new bodyguard is one of my friends." Kavira wasn't going to watch Clain be a guard for any longer, it brought pain to her heart. This honorable man having to do something he didn't want to for the sake of her getting a compass that this King has already said he would hand over to her.

"Is that so? Come warrior, take a seat with us then." King Adonis smiled pleasantly. "My, my.. a true warrior. I've heard a great deal of stories about you all but I've only seen a few of them myself. What is your name, warrior?"

"Clain." Clain took a seat directly opposite from where Kavira was sitting. Jacob wasn't as open as his father, King Adonis, or his brother, Prince Adam, he held too much skepticism about this girl. His father was giving this girl special treatment and his brother on the other hand was to obsessed with the her to try and catch only the abnormality of this situation.

"Why do you seek the Dragon Elder's compass? Does it have to do with what father said, your dragon eye mark?" Jacob was butting in more than the King liked. If he would have known that his sons would be this disturbing then he would have just skipped dinner and brought the girl to his study shortly after seeing her.

"I suppose it's not a secret. If you try to find the answer then you will find it. The dragon's eye symbolizes someone that has all the magical powers presented in this world. Meaning, that yes, I have magic and I am in the search of the Dragon Elder to help me find answer to questions I, and no one else can answer." Kavira wasn't afraid. These people were looking out for her because they were told to be aware of her.

"But magical being are said to have disappeared from this land over three thousand years ago." It was the first time Prince Adam had said anything that didn't involve trying to court Kavira and she felt appreciative for that.

"That's what they say, hence, we are looking for the Dragon Elder." Clain wasn't particularly happy about Kavira exposing so much information but he trusted in her judgement and decided that she might've had a good reason for it.

"We are heading to Keero. I'm sure Nyla and her friends will be there. Did she really think that leaving the Fairy Domain would stop me from looking for her? I have people everywhere." Lord Yoru's silhouette was dark but the fury could be felt by everyone in the room.

Bort came forward. "My lord, the pixie wouldn't help me but I had a fly following her and that's how I knew where they were headed. A few folks saw her with Nyla and a man flying east on a Thunderbird."

Lord Yoru banged the floor twice and the fire on his cane lit up. "You did well Bort." Lord Yoru let the flames slither from the cane and conjure the five large shells for the dwarf. "Your reward. Now, tell everyone to pack their things, we are headed to Keero."

The hunters spent the night packing camp and waiting for the moment that Lord Yoru would release the order to make a move heading east. The order came sometime past midnight, every caravan carrying a different load along with a few men. "Dalton, why didn't you come back? You traitor!"

Lord Yoru was in a caravan all on his own, he was reminded of the day he met Dalton. A small fawn at the time, he raised and trained him to be a fierce warrior but in the end he had failed to harden his heart. Dalton honored and respected Yoru but he was afraid of him more than anything, if the people he was captured by treated him well then he must've succumbed to them.

Lord Yoru couldn't deny that he was a tough man to please, but a failure was a failure, why wouldn't his loyal right hand man come back? "I will find you Dalton... and when I do, I'll kill you with my bare hands."
