The Outer Rim (2)

"Has everyone made their decision on whether they will stay or leave?" Kavira met Bort in the golden tent, she had lit a few candles so that it wouldn't be so dark. The rest of the group joined her finding a seat where they could.

"Yes, many have left but I believe that more than half of the hunters have stayed. What are your orders?" Bort had followed Lord Yoru for a long time, he too remembered watching Dalton grow up by his Lord's side. He was devastated to see how easily he was persuaded by a shift in power, no loyalty.

"We will be leaving tomorrow at dawn. Make sure that everyone is prepared and ready, we will be going to the outer rim in the north. Do you have any idea where we will be looking for him once we reach there?" Bort shook his head, his Lord hadn't said anything about where to meet him, he was certain.

"I do." Dalton spoke up. "He will be waiting in some ancient ruins. I have only been there once about three years ago." Kavira nodded and dismissed Bort to follow on what she had said.

"Meeting Lord Yoru in the outer rim may be of use." Kavira took out all her magical weapons. "We saw a few magical items in King Adonis' secret chamber but none of them called to me, not like these." Kavira pointed to the staff, the dao broadswords, the pendant and the cane. She then pulled out the broken piece of the diadem. "This, I couldn't find this in your notes Lucas. This Diadem feels really important."

Lucas was the only other person who could see the red aura aside from Kavira. He had never heard of anything with this kind of magic and neither had his mother ever spoken about it. "Why is it red?" Everyone other than him and Kavira looked confused.

"We don't see red." Linx was a bit suspicious. When he was with Kavira at the shop he noticed how she could only focus on this broken piece, he didn't think that it was that important but he then remembered. "The shop keeper did say that his mother had made him promise not him to not sell it or throw it away until the day that someone asks for it, he would then give it to them. Is that why you asked for it? Because of this red aura it has?"

Kavira nodded. "But you and the rest can't see the red aura, I wonder why. Does it have to do with the development of your magic or is it because you all don't bare the mark?"

"That reminds me." Nyla was curious about what was going on but she remembered something that the talking crystal said. "Kavira, the talking crystal said that you knew something about why Linx, Clain and I have powers. It had something to do with what happened over five years ago."

Kavira hadn't forgotten, she just was unsure of how to say it or if it was even possible. She looked down and took the pendant into her hands. "Five years ago, this pendant saved my life. I wasn't sure what the talking crystal was going on about until the pendant showed me. That night I saved Clain, giving him a piece of my soul which means that he would always be connected to me. He was the reason why I didn't die and for five years my soul was being repaired while I slept."

Linx wasn't ready to hear such a confession. So if he would have been the one out there almost dying then he would have had the connection with Kavira but she chose Clain, they had something that he would never have with her. While in the Fairy Domain he read that an ancient text stating that a soul could only be given to someone who is your soulmate, your protector. His mind was flooding with confused thoughts of anger and sadness, he wasn't sure what to do or if he should even say anything.

"On the night I killed half of the dead army I exploded a white aura that went throughout the whole city, I believe that my binsho is giving people temporary power. Meaning that you all weren't born with power, I gave it to you the night I did that. It would explain why you don't have marks but it doesn't explain why five years later you all still have that power. Maybe it is because my magic was so powerful and that's why my soul was shattered but I'm still unsure."

Everyone was in a state of shock, Kavira was so powerful that she could give people temporary magic. They all didn't know much about magic but this seem a little unreal.

"That is why you're the only worthy one, the one the talking crystal had been waiting for." Dalton had learned a few things here and there from Lord Yoru's obsession with magic. "Three thousand years ago it was said that one person will travel to this Lost Realm and restore it to what it once was but not before facing the challenges of war, love and lost. I believe this is you."
