The Outer Rim (3)

Prince Jacob had just finished enjoying some time of games and pleasure with Katia her face covered, nothing was essentially damaged to the rest of her body so he had no objections to entertaining her. He was laying down while Katia twirled her fingers around his chest. "You really screwed the pooch this time. You're also lucky that I still know a potion to grant an appearance enhancement or else I would have no mercy on you. All I need is the money and I'll be able to buy the ingredients."

Katia wasn't happy with her perfect face changing but she didn't mind that this potion would still make her an irresistible beauty. Prince Jacob wasn't going to lie, he missed her looks but alas, he was a prince and finding beautiful women was no difficult task for him. "The suns down, I'll go get the shells and be right back." Prince Jacob picked up some pants and pulled over a shirt before walking out the door.

A few minutes had gone by, Katia was done dressing herself waiting for Prince Jacob to return on top of his bed very messy bed. Prince Adam strolled into the room, he had heard from Prince Jacob's guards that there was someone in his room. They informed him that they were doing shameless acts, he had his brother followed many times to know that the person he was with was none other than the underground witch, Katia.

"Adam!" Katia immediately stood up. "What are you doing here?"

"So this is what you have become." Adam wanted to laugh so loud the whole city could hear him but he wasn't about to waste his breath. "You messed with the wrong person and you ended up burnt, Jacob may not know who you are but you will not be taking anything from here... Mother."

"Adam, I'm just trying to collect some money so that your momma can become beautiful again." Katia stood from the bed, reaching her hands out when Adam took his sword out and cut her right hand off. "You abandoned me. Unlike Jacob's mother who died giving childbirth, you abandoned me because having a son was a burden to you."

Katia was crying in pain from her wound, her tear filled eyes looking out at her right hand that was now on the floor in a puddle of blood. "I was young and naive Adam. I am so sorry." Her words were incoherent but it didn't matter to Adam, his mother was just a prostitute that abandoned him.

"Pick up your hand and get out, Jacob won't be coming with any money." Adam left the crying woman and informed the guards to follow her out of the premises, if she didn't leave the room in five minutes they had permission to drag her out themselves.

The hunters had packed up all the tents and set them in their designated caravan. Tonight they would be sleeping on simple blankets till dawn, they set up a few camp fires to cook a well rounded meal before the beginning of their journey.

Kavira and her group had a camp fire all on their own, they were given deer and rabbit to eat but unlike most cities, in Black City all they ate were vegetables and fruits. Dalton and Lucas was more accustomed to eating meat so they took their pickings while the rest shared the vegetables.

After the food was done and everyone went about their business, the hunters fell to sleep and Kavira stayed in the golden tent that was still up until it was time to leave. Her and Linx were asleep in the bed while the others took their places on the floor covered with blankets.

Kavira had been lightly sleeping when she heard subtle movements of someone leaving the tent, she opened her eyes and curiously followed them out. "You didn't have to come meet me." Clain kept his voice low hoping not to wake anyone up. He had realized that Kavira was keeping her distance from him for a while now and as much as it bothered him, he wasn't anyone to tell her to stop.

"I couldn't help myself. I've been able to read your thoughts as of late." Kavira really didn't want to go into detail about which thoughts but she decided she couldn't hide this kind of information from him.

"Is that why you've been avoiding me?" Clain noticed she was nervous to respond so he reached for Kavira's hand and strolled past the camp site to a few clumped trees not too far from the golden tent. "What kind of thoughts have you been reading?" He saw Kavira's tender expression looking back at him with an innocent vibe. "Can you read my mind right now."

Kavira said nothing. She wanted them to just have an acknowledgement that she can read his mind. She never expected this uncontrollable heart to have a mind of its own and beat as fast as it's beating now. She took her pendant into her hand slowly trying to calm her unsteady heart. "I really want to kiss you." Clain couldn't hold his words in any longer and he took a step closer to her.

"I know."
