The Dragon Elder (3)

"I don't understand." Nyla had given up and was resting up against a wall. Lucas, Kavira and Linx were trying to figure out how to push a bolder across that was short in height but heavy. There was a drop between where the group stood and the other side where the entrance is.

The voice that they heard told them that they would need to cross the bolder over to the other side. No matter how many times they tried, the group of four couldn't move the rock once. Kavira was the only person left who hadn't collapsed from exhaustion.

After the other two took a rest she decided to use her magic to lift the bolder but she was no match for it. She had tried using every single ability she had just to cross it over, she couldn't fight on anymore.

Kavira almost fell to her knees, her body was about to give way when she thought of just one more idea. It seemed ridiculous because of that that had already experienced but she had no other option. Kavira bent down, placed her fingers under the rock slowly lifting it up.

Linx, Nyla and Lucas all watching in amazement, mouths wide open. They had tried to pick up the bolder several times and it wouldn't budge, but Kavira lifted it by herself and it moves?

Kavira used her Irrang powers to fly across the drop and placed the rock on the opposite side. Her body immediately fell next to the bolder. The floor that was missing from the drop appeared and Linx ran to Kavira, bring her into his arms. "She doesn't look too well."

A black dragon appeared at the exit of this widened hall way, he wasn't enormous but you could sense his power as soon as he appeared. The dragon shrunk down into human form, his scales remained black and his eyes followed the same dark gray pattern.

"You have managed to pass the test of strength. Don't be fooled, these tests are for the Fiena alone. The rest of you are but mere mortals, just companions of the Dragon Elders real guests. Take this." The black dragon man knelt down and handed the weak Kavira a token. "This will open the next challenge. Good luck."

After the token was handed over the black dragon disappeared into thin air. Linx offered to carry Kavira or put her on Jacko but she refused.

These tests were for her, whoever the elder was she knew they were watching their every move. She couldn't show any weakness, she could simply rest and continue on the path that they chose.

The group took a much needed break and continued on to the exit. They found themselves in a dead end with three doors to choose from. Each door had a different word, Death, Poison, Torture.

None of their options were ideal. Kavira wanted to discuss the matter with the group but none of it was their decision. She had to complete this next challenge on her own.

Before Kavira stepped forward to insert her token into the chosen door, Link stopped her. "This doesn't feel right Kavira." She knew exactly what he meant but there was no turning back.

"If I fail.. I don't know what would happen. I can't believe it will be anything good but I have to do this." Linx wanted to argue but he couldn't. He knew that none of this had anything to do with him and all to do with his beautiful girlfriend. He simply kissed her on her forehead and let her choose whichever door she wanted.

Death.
