When all was said in done he escorted them out and made that call to his mate. Overjoyed with the fact they where finally going try to have a baby she asked what changed his mind.
When Darrel told his mate all that happened she was in shock then said "ok darling but important part is you still want a child right?" completely glossing over the fact of everything that happened and wanted him to say yes. "Yes we are going to try for a child." she screamed in joy and hung up on him calling all her relatives to tell them the good news of going to have a baby. Yep he thought should have stayed home in bed and placed his head on the desk.
Back to Lana and Davis when they left the secretary still gave her glares as she left the principal's office. When Davis realized the fact that she was being hostile and glaring at his daughter. He released a pressure out on her almost making her cry. As she didn't see who barged into the principal's office she glared up at him only to receive in mind link one sentence "You will be taken care of later." Fear and acceptance at the outcome happened in just that moment as she realized she made a horrible mistake. He took his daughter out of the office and was about to follow her to class til she stopped him.
"Alright have a good day at work. Good bye." She waived to him as she started to move towards her class room. She took 6 steps before suddenly stopping. Davis ran into his daughter. Her eyes went wide as she looked over her shoulder.
As she made eye contact with him she slowly turned around and asked. " What are you doing?" "Going to class with you. It's tradition that the first day a student attends they will have their parent or parents with them." He responded in a carefree voice. Various thoughts and plans came into her head as she knew that there was no way she was going to have her parent coming to school with her. Tradition or not it was not going to happen.
"Tradition?" She hummed out. Even though her father was careless with her. He was also the one who was over protective of her. She thought back to her child hood and what she asked her mom one year at random when she was accidentally forgotten to be picked up at detention for the upteenth time.
"How would you say your parenting style in raising your children?" She remembered her answer. She remembered her mom thinking a few minutes before replying "well in the short version. We love you all and will protect you no matter what but your fathers and my view is somewhat different on certain things. The one thing that we agreed on was as long as you survived and lived a heathy live than we succeeded as parents. All any parent can do is take care of their child and try their best and if we forget you every now and then Nd you can't rely on your self than we need to work on making you more self reliant and independent." "So you are saying that?" Lana left the sentence hang. "Your parents love you and everything is non essential." Another one formed from when she was almost taken off the street. Her father came out of no where and beat the guy within an inch of his life. Or when she wanted to go to Kimmy's birthday party all the kids where going alone without their parents. Her father would only let her go if she had someone (brothers, her mother or him) with her. She remembered the fight that broke out with them compromising on Jarold her going with her. She didn't want him there as all her other friends went alone but she couldn't win in the end.
Returning back from past memories that only took a moment she shook her head. "Dad?" she said in a firm tone. His eyes widened in happiness. He hadn't heard her say that since before the attack that took her. He knew he was really over protective of his wife and children but he didn't care. What doesn't completely kill her and as long as she was healthy than he would raise her as he would like.
A cold shiver ran up her back as a bad feeling suddenly arose in her. A few moments past through her mind. Her dad throwing her off a bridge into a lake because she was afraid of swimming with real fishes in a sneak attack to get her over that fear, her father being in charge of her group during a class trip and being at a museum left at the museum at the end because he forgot to make sure she got on the bus, her on a camping trip and he decided to tell ghost stories and scare her through out the night making ghost noises outside of her tent with some of the other parents doing that with their kids too.
She always complained to her mom and knew that he could be brought back to a sensible line but now that her mom was gone who would reel him in? Her?! No!!!! she screamed in her mind she had to draw the line and limits. Before she put up with it because she treated it like an annoyance that would disappear after a few months because he had to travel because of his job here. Well the presents were an incentive for her welcoming him back but still. Now she was stuck with him 24/7 365 days a year.
She should have gone abroad in a private school she thought and sighed. All of this happened in minutes and she tried to go the offensive/blocking route. "Daddy why didn't they take me to school?" It took a few minutes before them registered in his mind. He coughed and said as sweat started to slowly form on his back."Well that is because daddy wanted to take us all on a celebratory picnic in the woods and tell them the great news."
Nice save she thought as her face still shown confusion outwardly on her face. Wait how did it go from a restaurant and movie to picnic in the woods!! She hated being out in the woods!! Now wasn't the time she continued in her thoughts. She now knew how she was going to avoid this disastrous route. "Then don't you think that you should go and get it ready for after school then. After all I am almost a teenager and mom said that I need to be more self reliant." He choked when she said mom said.
While they had their differences he always loved her and wanted her away from danger. That was why they were separated. It wasn't til she told him she knew and made him come clean about everything that they started to reconcile through the mistakes he made. Ok maybe it was more like she came to him, punched him in the face, told him she knew, told him everything she knew, and said if we don't work this out than I want a divorce.
He remembered that he sat on the floor in shock the whole time then begged her not to get a forced divorce did everything work out.
He thought about it more and just when he accepted it Lana talked said something more that stunned him. "Don't worry about me getting home. I am taking the bus home. I confirmed it with Mr. tineston."
With all routes blocked and seeing the resolve on her face he knew he couldn't win this round. Normally he would still do what he wanted because he was her father but since it has only been less than 24 hours since she came into his care and he already forgotten her he was going to move cautiously with her. He knew his daughter was stubborn like him. He sighed in frustration and also resignation and agreed with what she said but before he left he gave her a new cell phone with his number in it and told her to call should anything happen. He patted her head once more and gave her a hug reaffirming that it wasn't just a dream. That she was really alive and she was going to class.
She went down the list of obstacles that she would have to face and realized it has not even been that long. Only an hour and a half maybe less than 3 since she has woken up.
Lana finally made it to her classroom and took a deep breath. She breathed in the scents to see if she knew anyone. She was happy she put on scent disguising perfume.
Unless they purposely looked for her scent no one should be able to tell that was related to them. Her 3rd eldest brother Jarold was in her class and a unque smell that got started to get her wolf fidgety.
"Unicorns!" she cursed underneath her breathe. She knew what that scent meant. Even though she wasn't properly (fully) raised or trained for her wolf side she still heard stories. Plus when she finally met her many great grandpa eugene on her mom's side she found out. Her mom made him give her the talk about that stuff since Mom wasn't sure if it was different or not.
But at least Lana got to throw her dad infront as a shield when her mother learned that Lana was a werewolf and her father was her mother's mate. It was really great timing because it replaced her under the you did something wrong list.
She used to be in the number one slot after having an arch enemy sent a group of zombies to her house and the house got destroyed. Her mother was at first scared then completely angry after all the shock wore off because she finally finished getting her home to where she wanted. Repair wise, paid off wise, and most importantly a brand new kitchen with all the latest equipment with black marble tops and an island in the center for when she cooked. Hmm... Lana though to herself will the deal with her wolf side be in effect or not?
After all her wolf was still somewhat in the recovery stage and still needed a few weeks before she recovered. Her wolf was gravely injured in battle from before and it has recovering for a while now. She loved her wolf side and always wanted to protect it just like her magical gift.
Her mom and grandmother always stressed you should always be thankful for whatever gift you are born with and how you use it should always be something you are proud of and won't regret.
She took control and sent her into hibernation so her wolf could rest. Unhappy and still a little sick she feel asleep as Lana prepared her self mentally as she opened the door to officially to her new school.
