6 years passed by rather quickly for Tyler, after all there isn't much you could do as a young kid so everything that happened just blurred together.
There were however a few events that stood out of his otherwise bland lifestyle; half a year after his birth his whole family got invited to celebrate the birth of Tyler's cousin, Kaguya Otsutsuki.
That's right. His father apparently had a brother that was the head of the branch family, while he was the head of the main family and on top of that THE Kaguya Otsutsuki that would cause that whole mess in the elemental nations in the future is most likely the one whose birth they would be celebrating.
The branch and main family system was very similar to the Hyuga clan that might come to exist in the future, the only difference being that the Otsutsuki branch family didn't have some kind of shitty seal that the main family could use to command them.
That being said, the branch family was still subservient to the main family, if only because they were weaker.
There was also apparently a tradition that would bind the first born female child of the branch family's head to the first born male child of the main family head, in this case Tyler and the current baby Kaguya. Basically, Kaguya was going to be his personal servant/friend/playmate as they grew up.
Tyler: 'wow that's really something I never expected… I guess I can just say bye to canon now, since the simple fact that she is now bound to me changes everything… Well, I could still ask her to go to retrieve the god fruit in the future, or the canon events might still play out, but with a different Otsutsuki, who knows. If there is a chance though, I'll definitely get Kaguya to eat that god fruit, those horns are just too cool and sexy after all, and if she doesn't eat it, she might never catch up to my level of power. Can't have a weak servant now can I?'
Anyway, Tyler quickly figured out that the bond made it possible for the two of them to exchange thoughts and memories from seemingly any distance as well as share their senses (vision, touch, hearing etc..) if they so desired.
Of course since Kaguya was still just a newborn without a proper consciousness he had basically full control of the link.
He also noticed that it seemingly made Kaguya develop a natural attraction towards him as well as somewhat making her want to obey his demands, although she could resist if it was something she absolutely didn't want to do.
After that interesting experience, things got boring again. Tyler cultivated in silence for the next 4 years whenever he could. Of course he also made time for his family and occasionally played with Kaguya but most of the time he stayed locked in his room.
On the day, when he broke through the Immortal Realm's Core Compression stage, the eyelids on the palms of his hands that had stayed closed for so long suddenly opened! He had finally awakened the rinnegan. The whole clan was shocked! He was hailed as the greatest genius the clan had ever seen since its creation, since no one before him had awakened the rinnegan before turning 20, not to mention awakening it at 4 years of age!
Some people of course were not too thrilled about this, particularly some branch family members that wanted to rise in power and take over the whole clan. They saw him as a massive threat to their plans and thus sent some assassins after him, which was actually perfect for Tyler since he could absorb their souls with the rinnegan and restore his own soul as well as lengthen his lifespan.
Having gained the memories of the assassins, he knew exactly who the rebels were and informed his father, who quickly took care of them with the help of his brother. Following that event, no one dared to mess with him anymore and thus he unfortunately didn't have any more access to souls to heal himself.
One more year passed before he suddenly remembered something, he had the resurrection stone!
He could just use it to summon some random souls to absorb! He did a massive facepalm, he felt so stupid. How could he not have thought of that?! He was supposed to be a cunning apex cultivator in his past life, yet he couldn't even think of something so simple. He felt like a failure…
His self-confidence and trust in others had taken a severe hit when the system betrayed him, leaving a shadow in his heart. He had slowly opened back up and gained confidence when he was in the Harry Potter world, but fell even harder when his own son murdered him in cold blood.
That was the reason why he remained a loner the whole time he was a detective in the Death Note world. He was scared that he would be betrayed again. Even now that he had a loving family he didn't really open up to anyone except Kaguya, and that was only because he had some control over her through the bond, making it easier for him to trust her. After all, if she were to betray him, he could use that link to kill or severely harm her, even if it wasn't intended to be used that way, he was an expert with many tricks up his sleeve after all.
His little episode of self-loathing over, he proceeded to use the resurrection stone to summon some souls and immediately activated the rinnegan to absorb them. He wasn't some hero that would save everyone, or some good samaritan that would randomly help people in need, no, in fact he was quite the opposite. He was selfish and used any means necessary to achieve his goal even of it meant destroying a few random unlucky souls in the process.
In fact, even in his first life, before he got the system and before he knew magic, cultivation, and the multiverse were real, he was the type of person who would see someone get harassed in public and just continue on with his life without a second look, thinking that someone else, probably a wannabe hero, would step up and help eventually.
After all, why would you help some random stranger? What benefits would you get other than self-satisfaction and a boost to your hero complex? It was just more trouble than it was worth in his opinion. Of course, that didn't mean that he would never help someone, it just meant he was unlikely to do so without some kind of enticing reward.
Coming back to the present after his random flashbacks, Tyler was quite happy. Why was he happy you ask? Simple, because his soul was almost completely healed! Since he remembered the resurrection stone he had been summoning and absorbing souls practically non-stop, gaining their knowledge and using them to mend his broken soul. He was already at the Core Ascension and the Longevity Compression stages in the two respective immortal cultivation branches. Soon, it would be time for Tyler to venture out into the universe to gain some experience and look for chances to break through.
