Chapter 7:

Soon, he sank into deep thoughts and started questioning everything.

Jason started to wonder why he tried to ignore Jaselle, making her worried about him. He wondered what actually made him do that. Perhaps, it was meant to tease her, or it could just be a social experiment to see how she would react to his behaviour.

He really don't know the real reason at that point. He rubbed his head and let out a frustrated scream. "Argh... Why... Why did I do that?" He figured that he should at least text Jaselle that he was fine and it was non intentional.

He fished out his phone from his pocket and typed :" Hey Jaselle, did you get home fine?"

*Clicks send*

"Ding", Jaselle's phone rang, indicating an incoming notification. She picked up her phone amidst of all the face blushing. It was as if her face had a mind of its own, it began to burn even more after the efforts she took for it calm down. She saw his text and replied with a "yep".

Jason received her text and began crafting how he should tell her that he was fine and was pulling her leg.

"Hey... Regarding my behaviour just now... I was actually feeling fine and stuff. But I just wanted to tease you and see how you'll react. It was really nothing, so don't worry too much about me okay?" He hesitated a little and shut his eyes tightly as he pressed "send".

"Ding" , another message came in. Jaselle peeked at her phone and figured that it was Jason. She was still fighting with the blush and just could not afford to look at another message that would trigger the "red wave". She removed her glasses and decided to take a nap as she was super worn out by today's classes. She fell into dreamland as soon as her head touched the pillow.

On the other end, Jason was still too afraid to look at his phone. He was afraid that the reply from her would be too much for him to bear. However, he could not fight off the urge to look at his phone. He opened the app and realised there wasn't a reply. He heaved a sigh of relief and decided to put away his phone for now. He then proceeded to take out his school work for some revision.

--Jaselle's home--

The clock struck 6 and it was time for dinner. Jaselle woke up from her slumber and trotted down the stairs into the dining room. She sat at her place and started having her dinner together with her family. She didn't say anything and was silent throughout dinner. Her parents started to initate a conversation and were chatting heartily over dinner. Jaselle didn't want to look abnormal and also eventually joined in.
