He sprinted towards the one that was right opposite him.
The Hobgoblin reacted to that with swinging a club at the Wolf. The other goblins and hobgoblin just stood there to assess his strength for now. They would aid their brother if it got dangerous though.
The Hobgoblins and goblins were seen as cowards and weaklings to most of the people.
However, while they may be weak, they are by no means cowards. They will run if the opponent lets them all run, but, if that opponent holds one of them as hostage or kills them in front of them, they will stay and fight to the death.
The Wolf just dodged the swing and attacked with a swing of his paw at the face of the Hobgoblin.
It was too fast to didge, so, the Hobgoblin prepared itself for the paw.
He flew.
The paw had so much strength behind it that the Hobgoblin just flew away. It was stopped by the wall.
It was still alive. That was surprising. It was a hit to the head that made it fly, but, he's only unconscious, it had also got a big bruise on his face from that strike.
The other 4 were shocked!
They thought that although the Hobgoblin wouldn't have good chances at winning, he would at least been able to hold his ground....He was finished in one strike though.
They couldn't underestimate their enemy as there only were 4 capable fighters left. The Hobgoblin looked like it wouldn't wake up anytime soon. The goblins also would die from that strike, they would be more of a hindrance to the other Hobgoblin, because, he would need to look after them and wouldn't be able to fight at its fullest.
The Wolf sensed that and looked at the Hobgoblin. The Hobgoblin then heard a voice say "Tell them to stand back and watch. They will die if they interfere."
The Hobgoblin shuddered. They should have just run away instead of trying to fight him.
They were underestimating him though, and, that would make them pay a price they won't be able to afford.
The Hobgoblin was conflicted. It knew that the normal Goblins also wanted to protect their brother, which was the hobgoblin. They looked like they would be ready to die if they had the chance to drag him down with them.
The Wolf grimmly looked at the Hobgoblin which sighed shortly after. It told the 3 other Goblins to stand aside and let him fight.
The Goblins didn't want to just wait and sit by. They eventually agreed though.
The Hobgoblin then looked gratefully at the Wolf. It did that because the Wolf didn't sneak attack them.
The Hobgoblin looked at the Wolf with a very serious look. The Wolf just looked into the Hobgoblins eyes.
The Hobgoblin found itself unable to move. Something was restricting him the moment those eyes locked onto it.Its instinct told it to run with all it got.
That didn't change anything as he still couldn't move and even his siblings were not running away, so, how could it dare to be the first one to flee?
This 'Pride' of theirs was also the main reason why they were killed so often.
The Hobgoblin threw a punch at the Wolf. The Wolf just barely dodged it and bit the Hobgoblins arm. It wanted to cry in pain but held it inside and instead threw another punch with his other fist.
The fist landed. A loud 'breaking' noise could be heard. It was actually quite scary to hear that sound. It would leave one to have a chill run down their back.
The Hobgoblin couldn't suppress his pain anymore at started to howl. IT punched HIM, why was IT injured then? The reason was simple. The Hobgoblin hit the head of the Wolf. The Wolf could break stone doors that were 20cm thick with a headbutt without feeling pain, how could a weak little punch hurt it there, then?
It couldn't. The Hobgoblin calmed down after screaming a bit more. His fist was unusable since he used his whole strength with that punch. The other arm was also still bleeding. He could still use it, but, he couldn't even use half its original strength.
It knew it lost the fight, but, he showed no hesitation in taking the club from the other Hobgoblin to smash at the Wolf.
The Wolf was feeling excited by fighting this Hobgoblin. He found out more about his power and got more ideas how to fight it with each passing second. It was incredible, he saw the Hobgoblin move in slow motion, smashing the club at him.
He wanted to dodge but knew he wouldn't be able to make it in time. Thus, he just prepared himself for it to land on his body. The moment it was just a few centimeters away from touching him, he just jumped back a bit to reduce the power of impact.
He only took 40 percent of the strike which made him not feel much since the Hobgoblin was already weakened to quiet a degree. He moved forward and wanted to bite its throat.
He was stopped as he sensed some danger approaching from behind. The danger it was sensing were the three Goblins doing a joint attack. Each one of them had red eyes as they couldn't watch on any longer.
The Wolf jumped aside and killed one of the Goblins since they were really slow. Even the Hobgoblins were left behind by its speed, so, how could the Goblins even hope to cope with him? After one Goblin was killed, he quickly moved to the second Goblin and planned to scratch its face with his claws.
His claws suddenly enlarged a bit, they grew to the size of daggers and slashed the head into pieces.
The Hobgoblin had bloodshot eyes.
It just saw two of its brothers die. It was truly enraged and saddened by the death of those two. He looked at the Wolf with an killing intent that was the strongest it had ever shown.
It run towards the Wolf and wanted to kill it. It knew it would die, but, he at least wanted to drag him down with it.
The Wolf felt the killing intend and got even more excited. He killed the remaining Goblin at his fastest speed with his claws and then rushed towards the enraged Hobgoblin. He felt his blood boil and his claws radiated a scorching hot heat.
The claws color changed from black to a faint red.
The Wolf stared at the Hobgoblin, and saw that that it got slower. It was because the Hobgoblin was so enraged that it didn't care much about its life anymore, thus, only slowing him down instead of making him unable to move.
The Wolf Dodged two swings before he saw a big opening and jumped into the air to slash at the Hobgoblin with his claws. The Hobgoblin just smashed his club at him and it landed on the ground, thus leaving him with that big opening.
The Hobgoblin couldn't be blamed much for losing his cool and rationality to think in a fight since he just lost three of his brothers. It felt enraged. Enraged because his brothers were killed by the Wolf and because it was too weak to protect them.
Just as the claw was landing on its head, threatening to slash through it, it felt a force pushing him aside. It was the other Hobgoblin. It woke up and saw his three brothers dead on the ground. He was also enraged. BUT he didn't want to lose any more of his brothers, thus his decision to push his last brother aside.
The Hobgoblin was cut through like butter and caught flame. It was burning him crazily. He died after a few seconds.
The fire was so strong that it only left bones…
Something loudly clicked when the last Hobgoblin saw his elder brother pushing him aside to save him...
