After resting for a few hours, Samad woke up. He stretched his arms and let out a yawn.
After a tiring day it felt good to take a good rest, he mused as he stood up carefully but didn't feel the pain he was expecting. He looked down at the bandages that covered his wounds and removed them.
To his surprise, all of his wounds healed without leaving a single scar. He asked in wonder,
"System! How can my wounds heal so fast?"
"While host was asleep, your seal was removed to allow you to recover fast"
"So, you are saying that my internal energy can help me recover fast?"
"Internal energy reinforces your body making it more sturdy and help it regenerate faster."
"Hm, that puts me at ease. If I suffered injuries again, I would depend on you to unseal my cultivation.", said Samad.
Samad looked around him and saw the dirt piled up in the cave he was living in.
"I should clean up this place a little, after all, I am going to stay here for awhile."
Samad suddenly stopped moving and started to feel melancholic as he remembered his home, his friends and family. His eyes welled up as he felt sadness within him.
"I wonder if I will be able to see my parents again? ", Samad asked himself.
After sitting silently for a while, he got up shaking off all the depressing thoughts as he started cleaning the place. He collected as much dead foliage as he could from outside and lined the ground with it in hope that it would add some comfort to his shelter when he sleeps.
After he finished touching up his shelter, he got out ready to go practice again.
After traveling north for about half an hour, Samad reached a lake. He hid behind a rock nearby and looked towards the water.
There were many beasts lurking around the water, some of them were resting while others were quenching their thirst. They were enjoying the clean environment with harmony that you would not expect from these beasts.
"Maybe it is like a safe zone for them; a place where they can roam freely without the fear of someone attacking them.", thought Samad.
After staying there and observing the beasts, Samad quickly got an idea. He quickly got up and left the place in a hurry while smiling sheepishly.
After few hours, just a few meters away from the lake a boy could be seen panting. After catching his breath, he looked around him and smiled in satisfaction.
Samad thought that instead of searching for a new suitable practice partner every day, why not just find one and battle it every day? He liked this idea very much and started planning to capture one of the beasts near the lake where they were in plenty. He began searching for a suitable place to build a trap.
He searched for a while and found a perfect place for it. Just a few meters away from the lake, a small piece of land could be seen. It was surrounded by rocks and was desolate. It was shaped like a really deep crater with a single path to enter or exit.
Samad was happy to find this place, it was the best place to trap a beast and could also allow him to spar with it freely. He quickly planted some traps around it.
Samad asked System to unseal his powers and rolled a huge stone from somewhere and placed it in near the path to the crater.
After he finished all the traps, System sealed his cultivation again indicating that it was time to lure the target.
Samad moved quietly towards the lake and took cover behind a tree. He watched the beasts as they were busy enjoying a peaceful afternoon.
He started looking for a soldier level beast who was alone but he could not find a suitable target.
In some distance away from Samad, a bunch of beasts was drinking water. They had red scales covering their body and they looked like hyenas but a lot bigger and very ferocious. By the way, they were acting it looked like these beasts enjoyed hunting in groups.
Two of these red scaled hyenas were playing together, hitting each other and enjoying the cold touch of water. After playing together for a while, they separated. One of them went to his family while the other one started walking towards a small snake who could be seen a distance away.
Samad was starting to get irritated, sitting there waiting for a beast to get close. He started to have thoughts of giving up but as he was busy consoling himself, he saw a beast come closer. His heartbeat began to increase as he felt excited. He became alert as he waited for the beasts to come closer.
As the red-scaled hyena approached the snake, it started playing with it by its long paws. The snake began to twist around as if rebelling against the beast. The hyena was busy keeping itself entertained but suddenly something hit him.
Samad was attentively monitoring the beast movements. He saw the beast as it came closer and started mocking a snake. Samad rejoiced as it entered within his range. He picked a stone from nearby and threw it towards the beast will full force. The stone hit the beast on its head and of course, didn't do any damage. He observed as the beast got angry and rush towards his position but instead of getting scared he cheered and started running towards the crater.
The beast was angry when something hit him, it ran towards the direction the stone came from and saw a human escaping. It shrieked as it rushed towards the despicable human that hit him. Other beasts at the lake looked towards it and ignored it afterward thinking that it was probably playing around.
Samad was frantically running taking some turns and jumping around periodically as if avoiding something. The beast who was chasing him didn't note this and kept running straight at him blindly but suddenly it tripped against a vine that was somehow appeared in front of it. Its 5 ft high body fell done heavily, raising a cloud of dust. This greatly increased the distance between it and Samad.
Samad looked back after hearing the yelp of the poor beast and cheerfully started making weird faces at it.
The beast was confused as it stood up but when he saw the despicable human mocking it, it roared with anger and started chasing him again.
Seeing the beast stood up and leap towards him, Samad flashed a cheerful smile and started running again. His smile angered the beast more as it increased its speed.
After chasing Samad for a few minutes, the red-scaled hyena saw him making a sharp turn but could not respond fastly and fell in a hole that appeared in front of it.
Samad looked back and saw the beast fell in the trap again but this time he didn't stop but kept running as if he knew that the beast would escape from the pitfall soon. And indeed just after a few seconds, the huge body of the pitiful beast leaped up from the hole.
The red-scaled hyena was really angry, its eyes turned red as it felt it's pride hurt. It gave a loud roar and its body began to glow and increased in size. Its nails began to grow longer and the scales on his skin became more big and thick.
After finishing its transformation, the beast howled and swiftly chased after Samad in an amazingly fast speed.
Samad turned his head around when it heard the beast roared and his face took a turn for the worst as he got shivers seeing the beast transform. He gulped and started running like a madman. His legs moved so fast that even he was surprised.
Samad was really nervous as he felt the shadow of death loam over him. He ran frantically towards the crater. He felt the beast come closer and closer. His heart nearly jumped out his chest when he felt the heat coming from the beast on his back.
He understood that he underestimated the power of this soldier class beast. As he was busy cursing himself for getting ahead of himself, he saw the pathway to the crater appear in his sight. He rejoiced and started running towards it.
The beast outsped Samad and decreased the distance between the two of them sharply. It grinned as it began to imagine what it will do the human after catching him. But as it was busy in its imagination, he saw the human increase his speed all of sudden.
The beast was puzzled but didn't fret and increased its speed too. Soon, it saw the human enter a narrow path and after running for a while, he stopped abruptly.
The beast was startled and put a brake to its engine causing it to slip. It stopped after a while and looked cautiously at the human as it wondered why its target suddenly stopped.
Samad was breathing heavily as it stared at the beast. He smiled in relief as the beast finally entered the trap. He took the knife that he got from the system before and cut the rope under his feet. And soon a loud bang sounded as the entrance to the crater was blocked by a big piece of rock.
The beast was monitoring the human in front of him closely when he suddenly took out a knife and cut something under his foot. It didn't have much time to think about this as he heard a loud bang behind him. The sound gave him a scare as he turned around and saw a huge rock blocking the way out.
After calming itself the beast turned around and but what awaited him was the sight of the human climbing the edge of the crater by the help of a vine. It was immediately angered and ran towards him.
Samad quickly escaped from the crater and as he turned back, he saw the angry beast running towards him. He sighed in relief after he watched the unsuccessful attempts of the beast to jump up the crater. After getting sure of the fact that all exits to this trap were sealed closed, he fell down breathing heavily.
He thanked God as this time it was a very close call. He trembled remembering the previous situation. If he had been a little slow....he trembled just thinking of the possibility. His back was covered with sweat. After a short rest, he began to calm down. He looked at the beast as it was going crazy.
The beast ran crazily in the crater wishing that somehow it could escape from this godforsaken place and tear that despicable human.
After observing the crazy beast for a while, Samad stood up and smiled.
"Be a good boy and wait here. I will back tomorrow."
He was too tired and didn't want to fight the beast right now. He looked at the beast and ran towards his "home" after flashing an innocent smile at the beast. The beast helplessly watched as Samad walked away.
It looked upward and gave a angry roar but alas it was bound to be trapped here.
