"I thought you said you could only collect special, or emotional, energy and dimensional energy. What's with this new soul energy?" Mark asked Pass through his mind. Amelia took note of what he mentioned so that she could ask him what all of the different terms mean when she gets a chance.
[Originally, that was true. However, this place contains a different type of energy that I can absorb. I didn't mention it before, but this plane consists of and functions off of the two types of energy that I was able to absorb before. Taking into account that this place contains a new energy, I can make a new judgement on what this place actually is] Pass began explaining his new findings and the knowledge that he had yet to impart onto Mark previously.
[This location is not only the collision point of two dimensions, but two different planes as well. The fact that you can enter this place from both dimensions you have been to proves that it is connected to both of them, and based upon the battlefield, it is most likely a collision]
[From the information I have stored, a collision between two dimensions leads to pillars of their laws forming, and this battlefield fits that description] Amelia and Mark nodded in agreement as they once again backed away from the source of monsters so that they could listen to Pass's description.
[As for this being the collision point of two planes, well, I am absolutely certain that this plane only contained those two source energies. Special, or as you call it, emotional and dimensional energy. Using your perception of emotion for special energy is an inept description, but it will work for now. The same applies for dimensional energy]
[Using all of the available information I have stated, I can conclude this space were you currently are is the point of collision between two dimension and two plane; though, I don't have sufficient information to judge what a collision between planes results in, so it could be something else]
"That's kind of hard to wrap my mind around," Amelia thought aloud, her mind still too focused on the new information to care.
[I intentionally left out most of my description as to lessen your confusion, otherwise you probably wouldn't understand at all] Pass said with no emotion.
'That's how he always sounds actually,' thought Amelia.
"I don't think your description really matters to us though," said Mark.
[But you as-]
Mark cut him off, "So, in the end, what does this soul energy do? You can use dimensional energy to create things and special energy to enhance things, specifically me, so what does this soul energy do?"
[Let me ask you a question first,] Pass spoke, strangely Mark and Amelia almost felt the annoyance, even though the voice was flat. [When was the last time I used dimensional energy or special energy to help you?]
Mark thought for a while, not remembering any specific time. Then he suddenly recalled the one time that Pass did, "It was when you perfected our potential, right? I think that was the only time."
[That's correct. I used special energy that you had gathered in order to do so. Now let me show you the numerical value of all the energy you have gathered so far]
A mental image appeared in both Mark and Amelia's mind.
SP(Special Points)- 2833
DP(Dimensional Points)- 327
"How did I get so much, and why didn't you use it?" Mark asked.
[The SP is from emotions. The DP is gained through the dimension itself. You gained three hundred from a mission given by a dimension and the remaining points were slowly accumulated by me]
"Then why haven't you used the points?" Questioned Mark like he was asking a mentally ill patient.
[I never said that I didn't use the points. I have used all of them to combine your and Amelia's soul and altering your teleportation route] Pass responded.
'I feel like my efforts were wasted,' thought Mark. "Okay, so what does this have to do with soul energy?" Mark asked the question that Pass was going through a roundabout way of answering.
[I can use it to increase my capabilities. My explanation was so that you understand that I will be much more helpful if I can get enough soul energy. I've had to waste most of the other energies you have gathered due to my weak capabilities, so once they have been increased I'll be able to directly help increase your strength]
"*Sigh*," the sound came from Amelia. "Honestly, you could have just skipped all of the explaining and just showed us," she complained. After their long conversation, which took time for Amelia to understand, she was still left with a headache.
"So in layman's term," Mark said, "you want us to get more soul energy to help you, right?"
[Correct]
"Damn!" Cursed Amelia, "Just say that then. Sheesh, I got a headache for nothing," she said with a bloodthirsty smile knowing that she now had a real reason to hunt. Saying she was hunting for the prizes was just an excuse to test her power. Now that she had, she wanted to defeat more beast. It seemed that killing beast gave her satisfaction, Mark noted.
Almost completely forgetting the entire conversation, Amelia once again dashed back to the area were the beast were. The large number of beings fighting did not pay attention to her dash, retreat, and then dash again.
This time she made sure there were enough beast for both herself and Mark. The group she attacked was very large, one that the others around them had avoided. It was a pack of spherically shaped beasts. Their size was small, each one no bigger than a mouse, but their sheer number made up for their lacking size.
Amelia stayed at a twenty meter distance from the hundreds of cute white little beasts. She looked back and Mark motioned for her to wait.
He walked up next to her and told her his plan.
"First, I'll attack them from afar to see what they do. Next, we just fight them depending on how they react," his simple plan concluded there, if you considered it a plan that is. Amelia nodded, accepting his plan.
Mark decided that he would attack his hardest so that he could get the most out of the beasts unprepared state. The beasts had grown complacent with their lack of predators, so they couldn't spot Mark and Amelia hiding behind one of the many pillars.
'A great opportunity to test my theory on a new spell,' Mark thought. He gathered Mana outside his body, guiding it with his Will. He stretched the Mana into a mist like form and hovered it above the many beast. The beasts noticed something and became alert, but upon finding nothing, they slightly relaxed.
Mana filled the air everywhere, so it was hard for normal beings to detect Mana that had yet to be transformed. Mark could though, using his Light Marking, which was at the peak of its current rank.
He hadn't learned what many people would consider as basic knowledge back in his home dimension, but Pass had taught him the beneficial things. Many of the things he had learned from Pass only applied to a specific dimension. One of those things that he had learned he tried to apply to create a spell, but it failed. Now, however, laws from both dimensions were present, so he was going to try again.
"Amelia, on my signal I need you to shoot a ball of fire in the middle of those beasts, okay?" He asked Amelia.
"Okay," she replied, mentally guessing at what he was trying to do.
The mist-like Mana he had formed coated the numerous little white beasts. He made sure that he got as many of them in the mist as possible, and then he added more Mana into the mist, making it denser. When about a hundredth of their Mana was inside the mist, Mark started to change it.
The mist became tangible, startling the little beasts once again. Ignoring them, Mark began to apply knowledge from both dimensions to create a spell that would be impossible without both. The mist turned into tiny drops of water, but the water was broken down farther and mixed with with wind from Mark's newly usable wind attribute. The mist completed the change Mark had in mind for it, so he whispered to Amelia, "Fire."
She did as planned, wondering what would happen. Before she could consider any different possibilities, she saw for herself what Mark had done.
When the fire Amelia had launched reached the vicinity of the mist, something that brought amazement to Amelia eyes happened. The fire spread instantaneously to all of the mist, but not the same fire that she had launched.
The mist exploded in blue flame, causing the beasts to shriek at whatever it did to them. It didn't stop there. The blue flame began to spin creating a vortex. The vortex grew several meters, making both Mark and Amelia step back many more meters due to the waves of energy. They moved even farther back when they felt the energy sap away their own.
The vortex, which appeared similar to the one inside their soul, stabilized at around ten meters in diameter. The beasts no longer shrieked, most likely due to their death.
Amelia continued looking on, as did Mark. He was waiting to see if anything else would happen, and it did.
The vortex collapsed into itself at insane speeds, appearing as a vague blur to Mark and Amelia. But instead of exploding again as both Mark and Amelia thought it would, it condensed into a white marble despite the blueness of the vortex before it collapsed.
They became dazed from the amazement of everything that just occurred from such a small amount of their Mana. Their awe was shared with many others who felt the vibrations of energy and looked over to see what caused it.
The attack had completely decimated its surrounding, not even the pillars of law escaped its wrath. A large, ten meter wide depression was left in its wake, as well as a small white marble in the center.
