Talents

"Wow… " Amelia quietly exclaimed, "Isn't that too powerful!? And how did you do that!?"

The ten meter wide indention in the ground was perfectly smooth, like someone had went through and polished it.

'Umm,' Mark said to Amelia through their soul, 'I think we should leave before we start talking.'

That attack had gotten the attention of many people who were fighting not too far away from them, which wasn't that big of a deal, but the beasts that started to head in their direction was a problem.

Amelia nodded, but before they left, she went to grab the marble on the ground. After grabbing it, both Mark and she started running away to find a safer place to talk.

...

"Do you know who those two are," Deus asked Nora, the leader of all humans.

"I don't, but I'll make sure to remember them after such a strange attack. It's too bad that we can only view through this screen, we couldn't even tell how the attack worked," Nora said as she regretted not being able to witness the attack in person.

"A lot of strange things have happened during this tournament," said Vareez. "There are even places that have blocked our viewing screen on that battlefield."

Nora said in agreement with Vareez, "I agree. I have been through hundreds of these tournament, but even I haven't seen so many strange things. Sadly, there is nothing we can do about it."

"Let's just hope that it doesn't force us to break off our peace treaty," Deus said in an almost threatening tone.

"Your being too dramatic," mocked Vareez, "This is, in the end, just a tournament to help find new talents. We are at the peak of the world and can no longer increase our power, so this is just to relieve our boredom."

"I can not agree with that," Nora spoke out. "There are still many mysteries in this world, such as the battleground that the tournament takes place on. I think that there may be a way to increase our power farther, but you all are too lazy," her voice sounded more like a mother reprimanding children at the end.

"Hahahaha, hehehehe," laughed Vita who was silent through most of their conversation. "Old lady, you just don't want to die of old age, so you're looking for ways to live longer, hahahaha, hehehehe, old hag."

"*Hmph*, little brat, you're too immature to understand," insulted Nora, who felt annoyed at the small Vita, who, in truth, was older than her.

...

Mark and Amelia ran until both beast and humanoid alike couldn't be seen. The pillars that dotted the landscape stayed, however, providing them cover even so far away from the battlefield.

Amelia held up the marble and asked Pass, "Hey, can you tell us what this is?"

[Affirmative. The marble in your hand is the result of combining three different source energies. It was created by the spiral of soul energy that was released from killing the beasts in the attack. After the soul energy started spiraling, it gathered dimensional and special energy along with it, until the combination of different laws forced all of the energy to condense into the marble that is now in your hand]

"Wow, so that wasn't because of Mark?" She asked Pass again. It looked like it was caused by Mark when it happened, but Pass's explanation made her rethink that.

[It was caused by Mark. It all started from him trying to apply concepts from two different dimensions. It caused a chain reaction with the strange environment, which led to the spiral of energy. So it was because of Mark and the environment]

'Huh, Maybe I should learn more about Mana,' she thought it would be cool if she could come up with her own original move like what Mark had done, though he needed her help to cast it.

"Can you use this marble?" Mark asked since Pass said the marble was made of energy.

[I can] simply replied Pass.

"Okay, then do it," Mark ordered.

[Collecting energy…]

The marble in Amelia's hand slowly started to break down and disappear until nothing was left.

[1000 DP, 274 EP, 4183 SP(Soul points)]

Author Note: I decided to change SP-Special points to EP-Emotional points

"Can you use the SP to increase your 'capabilities' like you said before?" Mark asked. He didn't want Pass to keep wasting energy like he did before.

[Yes, I'll begin immediately]

[1% complete]

Mark and Amelia sat down against a moderately large pillar, one that was colored brown, and rested until Pass finished. They hadn't really used much energy in their fight before, but that didn't mean they couldn't enjoy being lazy.

[100% complete] Sounded Pass after only a few minutes.

"How have you improved? What's new?" Amelia asked curiously. She didn't even know of everything he could do before, so she was eager to find out.

[Everything about me has been improve over all, and I have two new features]

"Well, go on. Tell us what they are," said Mark, a little eager himself.

[Talents and direct data increase]

"Describe what that means," Amelia commanded, she needed to satiate her curiosity.

[I'll show you first, then you can ask me questions] Pass replied, not making the same mistake as before by explaining everything.

Talent- Uses EP to increase ones natural connection to something.

Direct Data Increase- Uses SP to directly enhance ones data.

"That's pretty easy to understand," said Amelia as she gazed at the screen in her and Mark's soul.

"How does increasing our connection to something help us?" Asked Mark. He wanted more explaining than Amelia did.

[Increasing your connection to something, for example potion making, will make everything you do related to it easier. This can also lead to you gaining special perks or abilities related to the connection]

"If that's the case, then we should try out these new features," Amelia spoke up.

"Okay, this should also help increase our strength," Mark said back to Amelia in conformation. He wasn't too worried about their strength now, but it never hurt to be cautious, so he would take any chance he could get to increase their strength.

"Is there anything in specific that you think we should do first?" Amelia asked.

"I don't know. Pass, can you show us all of the connections that we can enhance, more importantly the ones that our helpful?"

[As you have asked, I put them on a screen in your soul, but beware, there are very large number. If I hadn't limited them to currently useful ones, then the list would be impossible to read in your lifetime]
