Chapter 15

"Ho ho, it seems pretty lively down there." Headmaster Osmond was looking down, from his office, at the courtyard where Guiche and William were about to duke it out.

A worried looking Colbert replied, "Should we stop them? It may become dangerous."

"Ah, let them be. They are in their youth." Osmond tried to nonchalantly bent sideways so that he could take a look under his secretary's, Longueville, skirt. Unfortunately, his spine decided to give up on him at that exact moment and he got stuck in a rather compromising pose. Suffice to say, it served as a great divine punishment.

Everyone downstairs was getting riled up. Some just wanted to see how a fight between a noble and a peasant familiar ends up as. Others just wanted to see a peasant get crushed and humiliated. Then there were some that were silently rooting for the peasant...and others not so much.

"Trash him up! I know you can do it dear." Kirche was completely hyped up. As far as she was concerned, William was in no danger. If it turned out that he was on the losing end, she could just come forward and use her salamander to destroy Guiche.

William wasn't paying much attention to the crowd right now. Right now he had to make a very tough decision. How to kick Guiche's ass to maximize publicity? In the end, he decided to go full Saito on him....except the beatings. He turned to look around for a sword but realised that it was a magic academy.

Though he soon spotted Tabitha's staff. He calmly started walking towards her to borrow it.

Although he didn't know what William intended to do, Guiche being the testosterone fueled teenage idiot that he was, thought of this as a great trash talking opportunity.

"Are you scared? Well if you beg on your knees I may be kind enough to forgive you."

William had read similar lines in a lot of novels and knew that this was a cliche trope. But listening to them personally in real life, really gave him goosebumps. He couldn't imagine how someone could be so shameless and disgusting to talk like that. Well, since Guiche was doing his part so well, William felt that it was his duty to complete his part - beat the shit out of Guiche in front of his friends.

"So here you are. And what is this I'm hearing about a duel?"

A fuming Louise stomped out from one of the academy buildings. William acted as if nothing was his fault, gave a shrug and replied, "This dipshit, I mean noble wanted to teach me a lesson because I stole his food. I wanted to tell him that it was all because my master wouldn't feed me. He wouldn't listen to me and wants me to either fight him or apologize to him on my knees...That means I gotta fight him. I was just gonna ask Tabitha if I could borrow her staff."

Louise was completely nonplussed by her servant's reaction. While Louise was trying to make sense of the situation and scold him once again, William had already bribed Tabitha with a handful of

Ski**les and S**rs.

"Master, you have come at the right time. Do you remember what I talked about yesterday? Do you know why I'm your familiar? Well, I will give you a small taste of me."

By this time Guiche was completely irked by being ignored by a lowly peasant. He wanted to say one of his long monologues again but William just wanted to go back to Kirche's boo *cough* Kirche's laps so he decided to end this quickly but in a spectacular fashion.

"Shut your trap for a moment, please. I will give you 10 seconds to do whatever magic you want. I have to go back and continue my tryst with Kirche. I will start attacking after 10 seconds, so hurry up."

The spectators comprised of nobles with a few maids mixed in. Obviously, Williams attitude didn't sit right with them. William had certainly created some kind of record by turning over 90% of the viewers into his rival's supporters in such a short time. Sadly, none of the famed record-keeping companies were around to record it.

Guiche didn't take kindly to being talked down by William. He decided to start the monologue despite William's kind warnings. William had completely tuned him out by now. He was trying to focus on his staff and rune to see if the mysterious power of Gandalfr applied to it or not. Unfortunately, it seemed like mage weapons were a no-no.

William would have to beat him using pure speed because he didn't have a single iota of experience with staff shaped weapons. Though all was good because both 1,000 and 100 were greater than 1.

As soon as the ten seconds ended, William sprinted with just enough speed so that everyone's eyes could follow him. It still appeared lightning fast to a mage student with no combat experience. Before everyone could understand what was happening, he struck Guiche's head lightly. It didn't hurt much, but it was enough to make Guiche fall on to his knees.

Just as Guiche's hand were about to touch the ground, William's feet appeared right underneath them. As all of this happened very fast, the normal students only saw Guiche down on his knees holding William's leg as soon as the match started. Didn't take a Newton to guess what the scene represented.

Seeing the stunned crowd, William felt that he had done a good job of appearing strong and mysterious. Maybe he could get lots of contracts from a certain friend of Louise.

"You lose, Mr Noble. Alas! We are not on a battlefield or I would have really liked to harvest your life."

The casualness within those words made everyone's soul feel cold. They didn't know that William was a complete noob right now. Although he had had countless training session and spars with strong opponents, he still hadn't gotten into a real life and death struggle. If they were a little experienced they would have realised that William was truly joking.

With a cheerful wave, he walked towards Louise and said, "How was it, master? Aren't I a badass?"

Louise was completely shocked by her familiar's performance. She just realised that there is more to the innocent looking familiar than it appears. She had never met such a fast warrior. Not only that, none of the experienced and great mages that she had met in her life, told her that she had the void element. All they said was that she was a zero. Before she could continue her fantasies anymore, William gently broke them by placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Master magic has always been about following your heart. Also, I'm your partner, if you can't do something I will help you out. In return, you need to help me out when I get stuck."

He gave her the reassuring anime gaze that he had learned recently. It was a decent trick if someone wanted to trick an innocent young girl.

Louise got tricked by it. She realised that there was a path open for her now. All she had to do was work hard to walk on it. But before she could give a thank you to her familiar he had already walked away from her.

After looking around a bit, she found him, Kirche and Tabitha sitting in a secluded corner of the courtyard. When she saw William pleasantly sitting in Kirche's laps, she felt like a lightning bolt had struck her. It completely burned out the thoughts of a thank you. She angrily stomped towards him again.

"What are you doing with this wench?"

William looked up, slightly confused by her sudden outburst. He looked around to find the so called wench. Didn't find anything. He "looked" genuinely confused and asked, "Who are you talking about, cute master?"

"The big-boobed bimbo in whose lap you are sitting." Louise snarked back as she somehow managed to glare at both Kirche and William.

"Zero, you can't control the love between me and dear. We are meant to be!" Kirche was completely ready to start the war.

William felt that he should drop a nuclear bomb so that it would be more fun to watch.

"Oh! You mean Kirche. She is not a wench. She is a good friend of mine. She even fed me when you had abandoned me, master. If not for her, I truly don't know how I would eat food in this world."

Well, the nuclear bomb perfectly ignited the fuse of the Tsar-Louise-bomba. He looked at Tabitha and said, "They keep this place so lively right? Would you like some candy to munch on while watching their war?"

Tabitha's gaze was enough to express her willingness for the candies. William felt a little bad for offering candies to a little girl but quickly decided that it was okay since he was younger than her.

(*Ding* A new matured spiritual dragon has been detected on the farm.

'Um, Saphira are you angry?'

(*Ding* Oh my, why would I do that host. The fact that you are using the store to buy candies to pick up little girls doesn't make me angry at all.)

Sigh! I just wanted to be friends with a lonely girl like her. Well, at least Itachi is a reliable subordinate. It hasn't even been two days and he got a new dragon. I should meet it tonight.
