Once in one's life we encounter situations where it freezes in time. Some call it a golden moment and others a coincidence, but for me it is an opportunity to shine.
It all started with getting up to the alarm at 4:30AM and stumbling to turn on a light. The day was crisp and surging with untamed energy of an approaching storm. The ride to work was a short trip and I quickly started my shift. The average morning tasks were set in motion and I bravely face the whipping wind as I dashed into the pelting rain. The rain fell like angry tears, which I ignored as I snapped my wrists to put the trash can liners in place. The wind tried to snatch the liners from my hands like that of an upset child. After struggling for a few minutes, I then was able to dash to the dumpster and disposed of the garbage. I answered a car and then dashed inside to wash my hands after I take their order. After cashing out their order, my eyes widened as I am met with a surprising scene before my eyes. I quickly ask the customer if they want any sauce as I hand them their order. I tried to mask my surprise with staying busy but I felt butterflies as I smiled at my friend who had walked through the door with a vanilla bean drink from Starbucks. Before I can talk to him, I am abruptly interrupted by a guest in drive-thru again. I professionally take care of my guests and then talk to my friend. Walden only stays for a few moments and then headed out for his shift after telling me the drink was for me. I smile happily and excitedly accept it with gratitude. I felt so at loss of what to say that I ended up bowing my head and dashed to put the drink in a safe place to enjoy later. When I returned, he had already left Taco Bell.
"So tell me who is he?" My boss asked with enthusiasm.
"Oh he is a suitor," I gesture as I then answered another car. I take their order and grab some napkins as I wait for the other customer's meal to be handed to me. "He actually is my suitor," and I wink.
"I think you got yourself a good catch. I approve of him because he was thoughtful and brought Starbucks." She genuinely smiled at me. "Here your order is up!"
"Thanks!"
