Fate

Everyone immediately understood that Qai must have had a fortuitous encounter during his training so they didn't bother to inquire into details.

Besides, the more important cause of celebration was the new addition to the family.

However, they obviously couldn't figure out why Qai would bring home a wild mortal beast. But just the same, they simply didn't bother to ask him as well.

The night was eventually spent merrily with small talks about the future of Shu Kongxu.

"I think little nephew here will be the first to enter a sect in the family," Qai said. "I can feel that a cultivation genius is finally born in the family."

"Little brother," Shu Wu quickly deflected the credit. "You yourself is a genius in my eyes with the speed of your cultivation."

"No, no, no..," Qai answered back with a slight smile. "I am not.. I'm just lucky, besides, I am not planning to leave this place."

He then seriously looked around into the eyes of everyone present.

"I am going to help father 'build' this place," he said.

"Not bad..," Shu Wei said in jest. "ha ha ha ha, not bad."

And so, after some more exchange of words, everyone eventually retired to their respective rooms.

Inside his room that night, Qai sat in a lotus position holding an arrow.

He pointed gently the tip of the arrow onto his thumb until it made a little cut—just enough to make an opening for a drop of blood.

Qai the made a drop towards the spatial ring before finally wearing it himself.

It was not the first time for Qai to see a spatial ring. His father actually owned one although it appeared that his father's was of lower quality than what he got.

His father once said that acquired it during his tenure as a guard in a clan in Jiang City.

After wearing it, Qai took a peek to see what kind of treasure the esteemed elder must have stored in it.

There was nothing much but 10 gold coins, 5 pieces more of Supreme Qi Gathering Pills, a small bottle of liquid of some sort, and an emperor grade skill scroll named 'Spiritualize.'

From the looks of it, he knew that the scroll was a unique class skill scroll since it appeared that it would not require any elemental affinity.

However, Qai did not know what to do of it—in fact, he was not even sure if he could reach Emperor realm himself.

In his mind, he had only two choices for now. It was either he would sell it for a big sum of money to help his family or he would just keep it for himself.

Not knowing what to do, he placed it back into the ring and decided to figure out what to do with it some other time. He though that to be certain, he would have to research first what 'Spiritualize' was for.

As for the bottle of liquid, he felt his father would know of it. So he thought of giving it to him.

As for the Supreme grade pills, he decided to give each one of his family in order for them to make a breakthrough. He knew of its effects as he himself made use of one.

But as for the gold, he was intent on keeping half of it and give the other half to his father to purchase skill scrolls for each one since everyone was about to breakthrough.

And as for the spatial ring, he already made a blood 'contract' with it so he decided to keep it for himself.

While thinking of these things, he noticed that the black tiger was starting to make a gesture as if it was prepared to make a minor transformation.

Qai kept on observing and concluded that it was actually awakening!

The black-colored tiger cub was undoubtedly starting to emit some kind of elemental aura.

Qai had no idea how beasts awaken their elemental affinity. But he thought that this cub was experiencing it too early.

So he watched closely.

He noticed that the stripes of the black tiger suddenly became silvery white in color emiting small scorching sounds.

'It's lightning,' he thought with a grin on his face. 'It's a Lightning element Black Tiger.'

"Hahahaha, Qai laughed excitedly, "..aren't we fated with each other!?"
