you idiot

Matthew pov ~

"Anyone you like?" Blake, looked over curiously.

"Yea, I do like someone actually." I answered.

I was surprised to find him at practice. He isn't a part of the team since he'd a freshman but he's not bad.

The coach wanted to give us an easier day, since he said healing Is also a part of sports.

Yeah, whatever. My muscles don't mind playing everyday but he's probably right.

I didn't notice before, but I looked to my side to see Liam gone.

"Where's Liam?"

"Dunno. He sounded pretty pissed though."

"Agh, what's the point of coming here then. I'm going home."

"Zach's free now so I'll go pick him up. See ya!"

-------

I haven't seen Liam all day, but I did text him yesterday.

He said he'll get me snacks today after practice so that's something to look forward to I guess.

"There's a party today, you coming?" Blake asked, I didn't notice he was walking behind me. It's almost like he comes over after every practice.

"Nah, I need to be somewhere." I'll probably go over to Liam's.

"It's a Friday though!"

"So tomorrow I can sleep in."

"You're boring."

He walked in the lockers after me, closing the door behind him.

"Why did you-"

"The person you like., it's Liam isn't it?"

My eyes widened.

"Anyone can tell man. The way you look at him." He walked over.

"I expected you to be straight, maybe not." He smirked.

"I guess I'm bi, I only like him."

"I'm kinda jealous honestly."

"Can you stand a little away if you don't mind? Personal space y'know?"

"Youre also nicer to him than most people." Blake wrapped his arm around my neck. The fuck?

"What are you doing?"

"Just trying something." He stood on his toes, closing in. Oh wait, no.

"Go try with someone else-"

"Just think I'm Liam." He finished, and before I knew it his lips were on mine.

I was still hung up on Liam's name, and I didn't realize what's happening. He pulled my face Futher down to make up for the height difference.

I heard the door open.

"Hey Matt, I think i-" I watched as Liam's eyes turned from cheerful to a horrifying look. He stood there frozen, almost as if he was still processing what was going on. His eyes found mine, and it physically pained me, to see him look that hurt, but most of all shocked.

I pushed Blake away, and as soon as I was gonna walk to him, he was gone.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Are you guys going out? Crap Im sorry, I didn't know."

"Even if you didn't, I didn't want to kiss you. What the fuck were you thinking?" I screamed, unable to hold of back.

"Goddamit Liam."

"Matt what the hell happened to Liam?"

"Perry?"

"I should leave for now." Blake said, looking shaken but walking out.

"Perry I promised him. What am I gonna do now? He won't believe me." I sat down, buring my face between my legs.

"Tell me what happened first."

"That guy kissed me, ofcourse I didn't want it. Liam walked in then, and before I knew it he was gone."

"That's why he looked miserable."

"What should I do?"

"He'll probably understand, go look for him. I'll take your bag home, yeah?"

Liam's pov

I parked the car outside my apartment, my mind still blank. I walked inside, closing the door behind me.

Its still something I can't believe. I saw it with my own eyes, but I couldn't bring myself to fathom the possibility of him already kissing other people.

When I walked in, it didn't even seem unwanted. He was basically bending down.

It isn't anger, I'm just disappointed beyond belief. He shouldn't have made a promise if he planned to already get tired of me.

I felt tears sting my eyes.

Fuck him, I'm the idiot who thought he was being serious. Of course not.

I don't wanna cry over him, but I can't help it. It fucking hurts.

I don't know how long I sat there, right behind the door. But at some point I heard the my phone ring, then the door bell ring.

"Liam! Open up, please." It's Matthew huh?

"Hear me out. I know you're there, I heard your phone. "

Crap.

"Go away Matthew." I said in a hoarse voice, probably from the crying.

"I'm not leaving until you let me explain."

He sounded....pained?

But what are you gonna say. 'he wanted to confirm his Sexuality'? He's already bi.

"No."

"Please."

Dammit. I can't deny that voice.

I slowly got up, opening the door but not looking at him.

"What do you want?"

"Look Liam, I really didn't mean to- I mean I guess I didn't even kno-"

"Stop lying."

"I'm not lying."

"You were bent over him, you can't do that unwillingly Matthew."

I tried to shut the door, but he stopped it with his leg, pushing the door open.

"Let go Matthew."

"I'm not done yet."

He forced his way in, attempting to wrap his arms around me.

"Stop it." I pushed him away.

"S-sorry, just listen to me, yeah?"

"I didn't initiate it, I didn't even know it was coming. Blake didn't know we're going out, but picked up on me l-liking you so he told me to just imagine you."

"And you agreed?"

"Of course I didn't, he managed to pull me down before I could disagree, and it wasn't long. I wanted to push him away, right then you walked in."

I looked up, observing his eyes. I was almost surprised at how sincere he looked. He probably picked up on my surprise and taking it the wrong way.

"L-look I'm sorry I should have been more careful. If you don't believe me you can ask Blake, or well Perry if you want, it meant nothing to me, please dont-"

"No no I believe you." He looked at me.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, just please don't...uh make that face..."

A small smile made its way to his face, but dropped almost immediately. He slowly came forward, carefully hugging me.

"I'm sorry. And I'm sorry I made you cry again."

Slowly, I wrapped my hands around his back.

"Damn, I'm pathetic." I buried my face in his neck.

"Shut up, don't talk shit about my boyfriend."

"Fuck you."

"I deserve that."

"Never thought I'd see Matthew cry twice." I chuckled, pulling away.

"It was scary y'know?"

"And I made you cry twice."

"So did I." I sat him down, sitting in his lap so I could be taller, and wrapping my hands around his shoulder.

"No but like I hurt, hurt you. I couldn't do the one thing a boyfriend should do."

I wiped his tears off. "I guess I didn't know you as well as I thought I did. You try to be stronger than you are."

"but It's fine, you can cry, it doesn't make you weak."

He picked me up from his lap, putting me between his legs and then wrapping his legs and hands around me. A human sushi? Or a mochi? Idk man.

"And you're stronger than you think, y'know. Let it out."

"Then we'd just be 2 idiots crying together."

"It'll be a nice bonding moment." He chuckled.

"Just kidding, I'm not the one to be comforted right now. Your eyes are red."

"You asked for this you moron."

"I'll be there." He finally put his hand in my hair, the familiar feeling of comfort putting me at ease, that I'd been looking for all this time.

And I did cry, but passed out soon, the days tiredness getting to me.

See, kids. Communication is important in relationships!! Don't expect your partner to understand whats in your mind without talking to them. They're humans just like you, they can't read your thoughts no matter how in love you are :)

Have a good day ~
