"Eh?" the smile faded from Wu Haotian's face as he was caught by surprise.

Seeing his reaction, Yan Bingru regained her senses and realised what she just did. A sense of panic immediately started to well up within her.

What was she thinking?!

No matter what she felt inside, she should not have been this direct!

"N-No, I mean…you are joking, right?" Yan Bingru hurriedly changed her tone.

"Wait, listen to me!" Wu Haotian anxiously reached out and grabbed her by the wrist. "I am not saying that you ar-"

Wu Haotian once again paused halfway through his speech when he noticed the ice cold glare coming from the young lady standing before him. Her cute embarrassment from when they first spoke was now nowhere to be found.

Realising that her glare was directed to his hand, Wu Haotian immediately released Yan Bingru's wrist.

"Believe me, I really did not mean it that way! I really like you and want to be with you!" Wu Haotian said with pleading eyes.

"Thank you for the help just now," Yan Bingru gave another quick and formal bow before turning away to leave, choosing to completely ignore his words.

Wu Haotian was left standing there in a daze, having to take a few moments before he finally managed to recover from the shock. He could only pull on his hair in frustration as he played back their conversation in his head.

Wu Haotian knew that he had truly been too rash this time. Instead of creating a favourable impression, Yan Bingru had probably ended up hating him!

But at the same time, he was still glad to have finally found a connection to Yan Bingru...

Two years ago, his grandmother was part of a community that was attacked by monsters. Unfortunately, his grandmother had chosen to reside on a very remote planet, so the news did not travel to his ears until it was far too late.

When he finally did hear of it, he did a fair bit of investigation to find out what happened. To his relief, Wu Haotian realised that a Hunting Team had been dispatched to take care of the monsters.

On top of that, it was this very lady who had fired the decisive shot that saved his grandmother.

From then on, Wu Haotian had always been paying close attention to Yan Bingru's progress as a Hunter. As time passed, this feeling of slight interest gradually turned into adoration, and Wu Haotian found himself unable to stop thinking about her.

Those were actions typical of a stalker, but Wu Haotian convinced himself that he was a fan instead!

When he realised that it was actually Yan Bingru whom he had just saved, Wu Haotian had been so excited that he actually ended up speaking without properly thinking things through.

Wu Haotian sighed in regret, but he was definitely not intending to give up here.

He believed that as long as he kept trying, he would definitely be able to touch her heart one day! After all, that was also how he had managed to get to where he was in the past!

Yan Bingru finally met up with the other members of her team, and they were quickly sent back up to their vessel through the rescue shuttle that Wu Haotian arrived in earlier.

Wu Haotian did not board the shuttle though, much to his frustration. It was specially requested for him to stay on the surface and stand guard while their own Clean Up Team harvested any useful parts from the wyvern's carcass.

This harvesting of parts was also one of the side benefits to monster hunting.

Most monsters possessed parts that could be sold on the market, be it for ornamental reasons, medicinal reasons, or any other purposes.

Some of these rare parts were able to fetch astronomical prices, and they definitely could not afford to let it all go to waste.

In this regard, the powerful wyvern's carcass was a real treasure trove!

From its protective scales to its razor sharp teeth, almost every single part of it could be sold for a large sum of money.

Even though this was not the initial reason for their presence here, they would really be letting themselves down if they did not grasp this opportunity to take whatever they could!

For that reason, the space vessel that Yan Bingru was in chose to depart from the area first, heading back to their home base – Planet S.

On their way back, the atmosphere on the space vessel was extremely stifling.

Instead of staying at the helm of the space vessel, Hunt Director Ying Min had chosen to remain cooped up in his room, unwilling to see anyone throughout the entire journey back to Planet S.

Everyone knew what it meant for a Hunt Director to have to request for the assistance of an Emergency Hunting Team, especially if it was for a Planned Hunt Operation like theirs.

This meant that the Hunt Director had failed to do his or her due diligence in checking for potential pitfalls, and their reputation would immediately fall to the abyss.

After all, this was a matter of life and death!

When a Hunter accepted a Hunt Director's job request, the Hunter was essentially placing his or her life in the hands of the Hunt Director. This was because all information would be provided by the Hunt Director, and the hunting plans were usually also thought up by the Hunt Director.
