Chapter 8: Region of the rivers and the Pleiades

During our trip we made several detours, due mainly to dodge the demonic creatures, although the demonic creatures that inhabit the meadows are not really stronger than wild animals, they come together and form herds which are more dangerous . Along the way we had to change the route 4 times. But on one occasion despite having the mini-map, we could not avoid them, because if we avoided them we would find ourselves near another village. So we had to face these demonic creatures, luckily they were only red-armored boars, unlike wild boars they have a red armor on their back and are more aggressive. But this time there were only 3, and although it cost us to kill them due to the fact that the bronze weapons did not inflict much damage to the armor. But thanks to Haiden's experience and our numerical superiority, we were able to kill them and, in the process, obtain another source of food.

Also during our trip Yoru taught the most basic aspects of magic to both my sisters and other members of the tribe, I thought it would be unfair that only my sisters could learn magic so I told the rest of the tribe members if they wanted to learn Magic. They were happy because it was rare for someone to teach another person magic by being something that puts you in a better social position within any town. Despite my concern that Yoru did not accept, I was surprised when he told me that he did not care. But we both knew that it would be strange that everyone who began to learn would actually learn it, so we had to comment to the volunteers who doubted after our words, but I did not want to disappoint them so I told them that although they did not learn to use magic It would not be bad to try and at least distract them during the trip.

Although I knew from observing the statistics of all the members of the tribe, who would be able to learn and use magic, I did not tell Yoru, mostly to avoid focusing on them alone and to teach equitably everyone.

Among the people who could get to learn magic were my sisters, Yoru's granddaughter, and twin sisters.

On the one hand, there's Yoru's granddaughter, she's called Mira, she's 12 years old like me. And like my sisters and I, their parents also died during the previous war. She lives with her grandfather Yoru and is a very good friend of Aria. She has long black hair, her bangs cover almost the entire face only letting see her right eye, these have dark green, like Ellen skin tone is much more white than other women of the tribe. For some reason she speaks normally with other people but when I try to talk to her she always lowers her head and stutters, I really do not know what she thinks about.

As for the twins, the older sister is called Elys and her younger sister Liz. Both are 15 years old. They have light brown hair, their skin tone is brown. Normally they stick to Ellen, I think they see her as an example to follow. And like most young people and children of the tribe also lost their father. His mother was the one who took care of them with his aunt, his mother's younger sister.

During our trip, I learned the reason for Haiden's attitude thanks to Mors. According to him Haiden did not want to be a leader of the tribe either, this surprised me a lot. Mors told me that both Haiden and he did not want the position so naturally I would end up becoming the new leader, but Haiden wanted to see my resolution to be able to accept me as a new leader, that is why he acted in that way during the meetings. I was surprised by everything I heard, but Mors told me not to tell Haiden that he had told me, since Haiden, despite his serious appearance, is really quite modest.

Our path despite the setbacks was relatively quiet. In the end, it took 27 days to reach the river region.

-Well finally we arrived- while I watched from a high hill the view in front of me, Mors approached from behind and commented.

.if we finally arrived-

-and then now that- this time the one who spoke was Haiden.

-Well, we will go south, taking a detour to get closer to the Pleiades mountains-

-but if the mountains should be north of our position- now I ask Mors.

-yes, but if we approach from the north, the rivers that pass near the mountains are bigger and bigger. So better we will go south until we find a way to cross the rivers that stand in our way, they will surely be smaller and less abundant. Before my answer, both agreed.

-in addition we no longer have to worry about dodging any village since at this distance the villages and tribes of the meadows no longer pose a danger to us-

After resting on the hill for a whole day, we continued on our way.

Since we left, I was exploring the region at the foot of the Pleiades in the mini-map to find the ideal location to settle down and build a new village. I do not have to worry about meeting other people because in this region at least because of what I see in the minimap there is no settlement. Some merchants may pass through this region, but most merchants of the archipelagos reach the meadows through the great river of Aqua and then enter the steppes of Kodor.

During the trip I found a place that was perfect for my future plans, although I could not tell this to the rest of the tribe members and I continued directing the march.

After finding the third day after entering the region of the Lacrimas rivers, one step through these. This delay showed that the region was quite complicated to explore and that was a point in favor when it came to defending the village.

After passing three rivers we found ourselves in a place that I designated. This was about 500 meters from the foot of the Pleiades, the area was surrounded by a dense forest, this forest was made up of yew trees, pines and cypresses mostly, there were also fruit trees and shrubs. We were also one kilometer from a river about 2 meters deep in the deepest areas and is about 40 meters wide. This was our biggest obstacle when it came to getting here. But it was necessary since it would work as another defense barrier.

My objective was not to settle here forever, rather it would be a temporary settlement. Since my main objective was about two kilometers down the river, in that area the river had a peculiar shape, on our side of the river the depth is maintained but on the other side of the river the depth increased to 7 or 8 meters depth, it also widens to reach almost 5 kilometers of amplitude in the widest area, instead of a river could be described as a lake, in the middle of this was an elongated island of about 30 square kilometers in area, in the narrowest part is about 10 meters from our side of the river but in the other is about 30 meters.

In the long term, this would be the place where we would build a city, but that objective is still far away.
