The desire to protect

Mormo hardened his body by instinct with essence, and because of that, his body received almost no damage by colliding with the ground.

He quickly stood up while he extracted half of his essence to monitor his surroundings.

He discovered hundreds upon hundreds of giant bats flying all around the cave at a lightning-fast speed.

"MY FRIENDS ARE IN DANGER!!!" Mormo shouted inside his head.

"I FUCKING LEARNED NOTHING FROM ALL OF MY EXPERIENCES!!!" Mormo cursed himself in his heart.

Tens of bats surrounded him, ready to attack at any moment.

"Anything that will stand in my way …" Mormo whispered "WILL TURN TO DUST!".

A boulder flew in the direction of Mormo, as it flew in his direction, he cut the boulder into the shape of a big giant sword while inserting his own essence into the sword.

It was mentally hard for him to use his sword. He created his first sword right after his mother disappeared.

By now he was sure that his mother abandoned him, it hurt him more than any wound could ever be able to, but now he had something to protect, he will do everything to protect it.

It was more important than he himself will ever be!

As the sword touched his hand, the bats started to move in his direction.

Mormo used the power of his essence, which expanded all over the cave, to manipulate the emotions of the bats. He let them experience and feel what true loneliness is, how it feel to have no friends and no family.

Mormo predicted that the giant bats are highly social beasts, so he thought that this attack will cause a lot of mental damage to the bats.

The bats who got influenced by his power stopped paralyzed in place while showing a giant evil smile.

Mormo was confused by their reaction, but he didn't waste any time, at least the bat stopped in place. He jumped into one of the bats and shove his giant sword into the bat's eye.

The eye was after all the weakest part of any creature.

A big torrent of blood flew out of the bat, while tens of bats flew fast into Mormo's direction.

Mormo jumped from the body of the bat while making the sword that still was inside the body of the bat to explode!

He strengthened his body with all of his essence as 3 bats collided with him at the same time, they tried to squeeze Mormo to death.

The giant bats were very strong, each of them was strong as a 9-god-level cultivator, it was a truly scary force! But when a sword full of essence explodes from inside of your body, nothing will help you.

Blood flew on the earth as parts of the giant bat that Mormo killed flew everywhere.

Mormo fell to the ground, some blood leaked from his mouth, but to his astonishment, the last attack despite the sheer mass of the bats and their fast speed wasn't fatal for him.

He underestimated his own strength by quite a bit.

Another boulder flew in Mormo's direction, when it came to him it was already roughly shaped into a giant sword full of essence, the wicked smile that was on Mormo's face showed his hunger for a massacre, while a glimpse of worry for his friends could be detected as well.

The giant bats on the other hand felt real fear for the first time in years, some of them for the first time in their entire life.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

"What should I do?!?!?!?!" Moshe screamed in his head while running for his dear life.

The lion ran fast after him.

"Where is Yaacov??? Where in Master???" Moshe thought to himself.

The lion was close to Moshe, he could reach him at any moment.

Moshe could smell the disgusting smell that got out of the beast's mouth.

"Maybe, they are already dead ?!?!?! Maybe they will not be able to save me ?!?!? Am I going to die ???" as Moshe thought about almost every possible negative situation that could occur, the lion head batted him.

The head of the lion was covered with scales, it was sturdy and strong. Moshe flew while coughing a lot of blood, he hit the ground which made his legs and hands hurt. His back got injured badly by the last head butt. All Moshe could do was lie on the ground covered in his blood, paralyzed in deadly fear.

The lion didn't let Moshe have any time to move or react, it had a lot of battle experience. It will never let his opponent, or prey, have any chance to escape or win against him.

Moshe looked at the lion running in his direction. Moshe was scared out of his mind, he shoved all his essence into the lion again, he tried to lock the beast in place, he didn't want to win against the beast just to escape from it.

Moshe trained a lot with Yaacov and Mormo, he even woke every night to train a little bit more by himself, all to be useful when needed, he was very good at managing his essence.

The lion abruptly fell into the ground, he got crushed by Moshe's essence, shock written all over its face.

After a little while, the beast managed to stand up using its sheer strength and moved slowly but steadily in Moshe's direction.

Moshe couldn't move, if he will, his attempt to lock the creature will vanish, he never trained or tried to lock an object while moving. It was quite hard to do so, apparently, only Mormo could do that.

If things will keep as they are, the lion will come to Moshe's location and kill him fast.

And even if Moshe could move, his body was extremely injured.

Moshe bit his lips, while he lay on the ground covered in his own blood, he tried to use 10 percent of his essence to influence the beast's emotions.

He tried to make the lion scared, but it didn't help in any way, Moshe was scared, but the lion couldn't feel such an emotion, and even if it could, not now against this dying young man.

Moshe tried to influence the emotions of the lion with an array of different emotions, but the lion couldn't be influenced by anything that Moshe dropped at him, Moshe's heart, or maybe his wishes were very weak at the moment.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" Moshe started to laugh, a hysteric laugh … it was so out of place that the lion got a little confused as he stood in place and looked at Moshe.

The beast wasn't afraid, the situation was so weird to the beast that it instinctively stopped. Moshe looked like he is going to die, but his laughter was happy, it sounded like he had the time of his life, like he was completely free.

"How pathetic am I … " Moshe said weakly, as he slowly stood on his legs while removing all of his essence from the lion.

The lion was now free to charge at Moshe, and that's exactly what it did.

"AFTER EVERYTHING I EXPERIENCED, HOW COME I AM AFRAID OF DEATH!!!" Moshe shouted from the top of his lungs.

The lion quickly moved forward and smacked its giant paw on Moshe's abdomen, which made blood pour out of his mouth and nose, and that made Moshe lie on the ground again pathetically.

The beast's mouth was already closing on Moshe's head, as it tried to sever Moshe's head from his body right away.

Moshe thought about his parents. How big of a love they had for him, only to die because they refused to hand him over to slavery.

Moshe remembered the little kid Mormo, who helped him survive in the forest, how lonely but prideful he was, how much did he help him but got nothing in return, in the end, he left him behind because Moshe couldn't help him as he was.

How his current master gave him a new start. Gave him the power that he always dreamed of! His master even promised to bring his parents back to life.

About his new friend Yaacov who taught him so much about his own power and how to utilize it.

But what did he ever do to help others? His friend and master could be dead by now because of his lack of power! He even run and left them behind to die!

That was his real wish, he didn't want to be the strongest, he didn't want fame or wealth, all he wanted is to protect his friends, he wanted to PROTECT ALL THE THINGS THAT WAS IMPORTANT TO HIM! HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE A LIABILITY EVER AGAIN, TO LET THE PEOPLE WHO PROTECT HIM SUFFER! HE WILL BE STRONG TO PROTECT THE ONES HE LOVES!

Something clicked in Moshe's head, the lion already started to sever Moshe's head. Its mouth already started to close in, on his face, but Moshe's eyes shined with a strong and colorful light.
