Chapter 46 Can't keep her waiting

Jay had now been put in 'the breaker' for about 12 hours and now the other recruits were with him. In the breaker you are kept awake, no food and you hear these taboo sounds. Baby's crying, people screaming and in pain, these weird machine noises. This is where two thirds of the recruits break and withdraw.

The recruits who had just joined Jay didn't know that he had been in there for over half of the day, they had blindfolds on and isolation headphones. On top of all that, they were standing and sitting in positions meant to bring aching muscles and discomfort.

...

75 hours in the instructors were hesitating if they should stop the only person left who was Jay. It was the first time a recruit lasted this long. They were about to pull Jay out when Major Samuel came along with a man who's name was Jace he told them to wait just 2 hours before they go in.

"How long has he been in there for?"

"It's nearing 76 hours sir."

Jace firmly nodded and went into the room. The others watched in the sidelines as Jace went ahead and gave a good kick to Jay's thighs. But the kick didn't surprise them as much as Jay's reaction. Jay's didn't move an inch nor grunt in pain, he stood there in the same position as before like the kick didn't hurt more then a mosquito. "Good take him out."

Michael nodded and brought Jay out who was covered in sweat, Michael himself wondered how this 16 year old put up with all that discomfort, pain and sounds meant to drive you insane. And the cherry on top, the room went from insanely hot to insanely cold. Many dropped like flies while this young man- boy endured it all and all he had asked for was for them to give him this vile of liquid tested to be toxins for the body.

"Hey...gramps. When'd you get here?"

"Not long ago. How are you feeling?" Jace gave Jay a bottle of Jay's favorite protein shake with a proud smile plastered on his face. "You did good- oh right Amber has gone crazy. She's missing you and won't go back home till she sees you."

"That sounds like her." Jay got up with legs of jello from sitting down too long, "can't keep my future bride waiting."
