Chapter 13: Going to the Mall (2/3)

"I can already tell this is going to be a long walk, hey system are there any vehicles in this world besides the enclave helicopters?" while saying that as John walks towards the direction of the mall, the system pops up a notification.

*Yes there are different types of vehicles that are not stored or be used such as BMP's, jeeps, off-road trucks, and different types of motorcycles and helicopters that were put in by the system to make realism a factor here*

Just by the system saying that he could possibly find a car or something to drive he was excited about it and also felt a cold chill running up his spine because the thought that went through his head, "Hey system do raiders have vehicles too?" and just as he asked a sound of a vehicle coming out of an alleyway slowly as he noticed the sound of the vehicle coming to a stop just up the block from his current spot were five raiders getting out an SUV that's been modified with an M60 on top and curly has miss matched armor plating all around it and only the gunner and the driver has the most protection.

Looking at the raiders and their equipment the only thing going through John's mind is 'this is bullshit wherein the hell did they find that at' as John just looks from his hiding place as he thinks of a plan for taking them out it didn't take long before he heard a whistling sound and saw the raider in the gunner seat head snap back, then out of nowhere the raiders were all lit up by machine gun fire. When he looked over to see as the fight would die out he noticed multiple people wearing black BDU's and combat gear on fighting he looked through the ACOG scope and saw a white eagle claw painted on their vest and he almost forgot about the most annoying mercs that plage the capital wasteland, Talion Company these guys were more annoying than finding a blonde trying to get a ticket for Xbox live.

John looked over the rubble where he was at and figured they wouldn't be after him since he never disarmed the nuke in megaton and not being stalked by Mr. Bruke. He planned to stay but one of their members spotted him hanging around the rubble and yelled at him, "Hey wastelander you can come out now we won't bite!" But how the member yelled was really weird as like a cat call, then I saw who they were really calling out for. It was a little girl with short brown chestnut hair in a ponytail no taller than my shoulders and her dad or brother from what I could tell they looked the same he was slightly taller than the girl with same color hair both were wearing ragged clothes.

Then out of nowhere, a quest popped up surprising him making him check what it was all about.

He was thinking I'll go save them and take to the GNR building with Sarah Lyons and Three Dog now I'll go back and check on them. The mercs were talking to the older sibling with smiles and one took a few glances towards the girl which I found disturbing, so I aimed my rifle down range at the talion company mercs then I just watched them until it was nightfall so their decision was to make camp in one of the buildings next to the raiders SUV with both siblings, so I went to the building overlooking their spot. As I watched them closely I saw the mercs were laughing, and drinking with the guy the little girl was in another room next to them writing in a book or something so I only paid attention to the door connecting the two rooms. I heard movement in the next room so when I checked it looked like one of the talion mercenaries had a sniper rifle checking on the party across the way.

As John checked on what he was doing John heard someone on the merc's radio that they wanted the girl alive and waste the boy, as the sniper was about to take aim John grabbed a chunk of conceit and slamming it on the side of his head making a snapping sound on contact with the guys head. Making sure the others didn't hear any commotion on his end he traveled over towards them making sure he had the radio off and sneaking up the stairwell towards the siblings. as he got to the stairwell he heard a commotion happening up above him and he knew that the talion company was making their move against the guy and his sister.

John rushed up there to find the guy defending himself with a machete swinging it around while the little girl was behind him scared for her and her brother life. John came up the rest of the stairs and saw this while putting on his mask just incase something happened, he lifted his Colt out of its holster and fired a few rounds into all three talion company mercenaries while still having one round in the chamber he was surprised that the didn't get back up. He looked over to his right and found that their armor was off and layed on the side, after truly checking if they were dead he searched them for anything useful and found plenty of ammo and weapons that they had on hand.

As he was checking the equipment in a pile, the two siblings looked at him and wonder who he was and why he saved them. John looked at them and reached into his bag and at the same time he bought two candy bar's and tossed them towards the siblings and said, "Here's some chocolate for you guys", as he said that the little girl quickly took the candy bars and tried to hide them from John acting like was going to take them back which made him laugh at her action not for her to take the candy but to not be shaken up by the three men that just died.

While he was thinking about what to do about the dead talion company mercenaries the guy spoke up and asked, "Why did you save us for?" As he looked like he was still suspicious of what happened I looked at him and calmly answered, "Because I wanted to that's all. So what do are you doing here by the way?" When John asked the guy gotten stiff by John asking and looked towards the doorway thinking about making a run towards it. John seeing this only said something to help them, "Theres a squad of brotherhood of steel at the GNR building they'll help you, if not I'll come back and take you to megaton after I fix a radio also tell them John sent ya."

As he was leaving the little girl yelled "thanks" while numing on the candy bar in her mouth. John waved goodbye and left them some equipment for protection, when he left he saw the two run towards the GNR so he smiled and was rewarded with the quest making him really happy about the rewards as he continued to the mall.
