Chapter 14: Going to the Mall (3/3)

John walked out of the building knowing that they'll be fine considering that the way was clear back towards the GNR station so he decided to look at the big reward he was rewarded. He looked into his inventory to find a small car that resembles a lot like the car from Mad Max series its a Ford Falcon XB GT but the one in the second movie looking at the design of it. 'Hey, System how am I going to use this out in the ruins? isn't the roads blocked all in the city?' when John ask him the System responded,

*Not all streets are blocked mostly all are open paths because of the constant supply routes in and out of the city for the past six decades and also the car can be summoned like off the movie 'Ready Player One' for easy deployment and concealment* He was stunned by hearing about how he could deploy it but also put it back into his inventory, so he picked it out of his inventory and tossed it lightly trying not to destroy his new beauty and when he threw it expanded to its full size in mid-air stunning him.

After a while of looking at his favorite car, he then checked the interior to find it looked exactly like in the movie he also noticed the driver seat on the right side. When he checked the two gas tanks on the back he noticed the bomb that was originally strapped under it was deactivated and he released a happy sigh that he was going to blow himself and the car up just by touching the gas tanks. As he opened the door and set down he felt extremely excited to be driving in this world and he also he can get to the mall faster this way so he turned the key which was in the ignition he heard the V8 engine come to life, the only thing came to mind and out of his mouth was "The black on black is resurrected."

As he traveled down the road leading to the mall he enjoyed the sights of the city in an old nostalgic view on the world that was destroyed by mankind ignorance and over the compulsion to reach for more power to destroy each other and where they ended it all. As he was thinking he looked at the fuel gauge to find it at half a tank which was kinda hard to believe on how long he was traveling. He was thinking of how to get but considering that it would probably come from the System's store, so he didn't worry that much about it.

A few hours went after some setbacks from roadblocks and ambush points from raiders and super mutants alike. He got to the point where he had to go into a building that was infested with ghouls while traversing through the building he came up upon a feeding ground that looked like it used to be an old caravan route but a feeding ground. He used his [Ghost] skill throughout to take down the ones that were in his way through the hallways and broken corridors overlooking some apartments that were now collapsed during the great war.

John made it through the broken bones of the old DC to find what he wasn't looking for but was amazed by the sight that had a view of the sun rising over the Capital building and streaking across the scars of trenches from a bygone war.

John traveled past the network of trenches and went straight towards the museum of technology to find the piece he needs. As he approached the museum he could see markings of super mutants being here by looking at the bags of mutilated body parts and fresh blood smeared on the walls and windows, "Well there goes my appetite," said his thoughts out loud while pushing open the doors. He made his way inside to find the same thing that he saw in game minus the totems of animals and humans put together like it's supposed to be there, he walked around looking at the display cases of empty guns which to his disappointment that only two were still there but dismantled to bits not leaving one piece that resembles the guns part.

As he looked around he found the Vault-Tec exhibit up the stairs to the left and saw the collapsed 'Hall of the past' a felt disappointed about not seeing what kind of things that might have been presented. It took him a while to sneak through the exhibit before he came to the rocket they on display and the mutants that were on the stairs talking about what meat was tastier. He then attached his silencer to his M4 and switched out the long scope for the holographic sight and then proceeded down towards his objective while taking out the mutants in the lower part of the room.

After a few minutes making sure none heard the actions, he continues his way towards the satellite dish while checking the catwalks while keeping an eye out for anything that looks like an ambush waiting to happen. when he got to the door to the lunar exhibit he saw the dish clear as day so he looked around for something to throw but only found a nuka-cola bottle so he threw it across the room to make sure that nothing was hiding, then waited for a few minutes and nothing happened so he took out the toolkit that he found in the back seat of his new car and started to take off the dish and put it into his inventory for safe keeping.

He heard noises coming from up above him and took off quietly towards the entrance and then he ran up the stairs and place down some hand claymore he bought from the Systems store then placed it at the top and ran towards the entrance, as he got there he rushed to it and pushed up with the sunlight bursting into the dark museum while escaping.

It took him an hour to outrun the mutant and make it to the Washington monument to install the wish that needed for three dogs radio broadcast. Upon walking to it two brotherhood of still members stopped him, "Halt wastelander only brotherhood personal authorized in here turn back now." As the Brotherhood member said this John radioed back to Sarah Lyons to ask for permission to enter the monument and by her surprise that I made it there with the dish and already waiting at the Washington Monument. After some time the said brotherhood soldier got a call on his radio to let me pass.

The brotherhood soldier told him to proceed up to the building for him to finish his job, as he walked to the door he opened only to hear the soldiers behind him talking about how wastelanders shouldn't be here and all that basis against people who are not part of the brotherhood. John continued up towards the top and as he got there he saw a view that made the wasteland look somewhat beautiful and nothing that looked like the harsh world he lives in now. He went up to the broken dish and replaced it and try to test the signal strength and found it in the green zone for three dog.
