. Water

A few minutes passed and it seemed like no one would help us just for their fear of this one evening that comes around every month. I thought, people would help others even when the day or evening is at its worst. I thought people had more compassion than what they were showing, but it seems, our world is all equal, humans and supernaturals are all the same.

Us humans say that we're more a human than they ever would be because we care for our community but in difference, I think the supernatural community is more human than we ever will be.

The floor boards had started to get unbearably hot and some areas where it was more compact, the boards had started to flare up and climb up the furniture.

My parents were dead, my sister and I were trapped in a burning building. No one was coming.

JoeJoe and myself jumped up quickly as a spark of fire started to pinch at our backs.

The floor flared up quickly after that spark. We were left standing on a small patch of wood that hadn't been lit yet.

The flames spread and caught my legs, I tried to muffle my yelp of pain as I covered my mouth and nose with the sleeve of my hoodie to try block out the smoke from my already smoke clogged lungs.

I looked to my sister to see her head in her hands and her body shaking, most likely from the overwhelming pain.

I noticed water dripping slowly from her hands, attempting to walk forward to investigate, I collapsed to the ground. My legs were burning and numb after the fire had burnt enough for me not to feel the pain reaching my hips. JoeJoe must've heard my thud because her head snapped up and I became surprised to see her eyes were glowing a brilliant blue. They looked like waterfalls were within them.

"You're a..." I trailed off, surprised. She hesitated before cringing and looking away.

"I'm sorry," I heard her whisper before raising her arms up and doing a strange motion that looked a bit like a dance. Blue light shone brightly from her hands as a shimmering flow of water spread throughout the room, crawling across the floors and splashing up at the walls. Stopping the fire on my clothes from climbing any higher and most likely putting out the heat from downstairs.

My legs started burning again as the fire was put down and they started cooling down.

"Is there anyone in here?" I heard someone yell from downstairs. JoeJoe crawled towards me, I shuffled away. She looked hurt before calling in a dead voice: "upstairs."

We sat in an uncomfortable silence before two men and a woman with glowing eyes joined us in our room.

"She's a gifted too!" the woman exclaimed, rushing to JoeJoe's side. They were all supernaturals.

"Hey kids, what happened here?" one of the men asked. He was tall with midnight blue hair, glowing grey eyes and a black, slightly dirty suit, probably from the charred building.

"We were attacked by L.I.A.R.." JoeJoe responded, I couldn't find the words to return.

"Why is she so scared?" the other man asked, he was a bit taller than myself, couldn't be much older either. He had bright green hair, a grey suit and glowing red eyes, just like the eyes of the crazy man earlier. Was he gone?

"This is her first time seeing people like us," JoeJoe says.

"But you have the gift of natural water, how wouldn't she know?" the woman asked confused. She had shoulder length ginger hair with a freckle scattered face, a red dress and dark grey glowing eyes.

"Myself and father were gifted, we think JJ got my mother's ability. Which was just a plain person," she explains. I want to stand up and run away, I couldn't. My legs hurt too much.

The boy with green hair approached me, I tried to pull myself away.

"I'm going to pretend not to be hurt. Trust me, I'm not going to hurt you. Or I'll try not to," he tried to reassure me as he knelt down next to my legs and looked at them.

"We can still save them, don't worry, you'll be walking again soon," he smiles at me. Two dimples appeared deep in his cheeks as he smiled at me. What was there to smile at? I was almost burned alive.

"I'm Conrad by the way, the moody guy is James and the woman is Angela," Conrad introduced everyone. James just huffed but Angela waved and said hello "loudly" to me. Conrad must've expected me to introduce myself back but realised I wasn't going to talk so he just smiled half heartedly and stood back up, walking over to the other two people.

"I'm JoeJoe, nice to meet you. She's my twin, JJ," JoeJoe introduced us properly, "did you see our parents?"

"I'm sorry, your mother was too burned and we were too late for your father. He must've been bleeding out for ages before they finally struck him with the finally blow on his life," Angela apologises, tipping her head forward solemnly. James hit her lightly in the head.

"No time to be sorry, let's get these girls back to HQ before that one looses a limb or two," he says without hesitation.

"Great choice of words," Conrad sighed, face palming before walking over to me and placing one of my arms around his neck and holding it in place and then placing his free hand around my waist. Standing me up, I cried out in pain as my weight suddenly dropped to my feet again.

My body started getting colder. I felt my legs becoming numb again, Conrad placed me back on the floor and looked at his comrades.

"Are you sure she's not gifted?" he asked. Everyone looked at him confused.

"Positive," JoeJoe says, pulling herself to her knees and looking over at me curiously.

"Well something has happened because she just started freezing," he says bluntly. He turned to look at me again, everyone had faces filled with disbelief before Angela sighed and clicked her fingers. I felt myself floating off the ground.

"We'll have to move her around without physical contact then, just in case," she says before standing up and walking, pulling me along behind her.

I looked back to see my sister using Conrad and James as a support. My vision blurred until I found myself drifting off to a cold sleep.
