The sudden silence made De Xi and Lu Chao look towards the certain someone who was throwing a tantrum a moment ago.
"Tired already?" De Xi asked with a small smirk.
"No... I just decided to be a big person and share my Mom's attention with my dear Brother." Natalia said in a proud manner.
"Next time choose a better choice to back you up." De Xi said calmly without showing any mercy to her daughter and her father.
"My choices are like fingerprints. They make me unique." Natalia said haughtily in a confident manner.
"A unique fool is still a fool." De Xi jabbed back in disdain.
"If my genes are faulty, what can I do?" Natalia said with a shrug not really bothered by her mother's comments.
"Indeed you can't help it, not like you could choose your sperm." De Xi calmly retorted back as she hugged and kissed Lu Chao's forehead once again.
Whereas all others who heard De Xi were momentarily stunned before they looked towards Lu Bai whose face was full of helplessness and defeat.
"Dad you are supposed to defend yourself here," Natalia whispered softly, urging him to say something.
"I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at that." Lu Bai shrugged lightly with an amused smile.
"I am so done with this family." Su Yang said in exasperation and disbelief, any more and he believed he might go crazy.
"Where are your Great-grandparents and Grandparents?" De Xi asked Lu Chao and other kids softly as she did not find the elders there.
"They are still in Trento, they will be coming over for lunch tomorrow." Lu Chao answered with a smile.
De Xi nodded her head lightly, deep in thoughts. Just then her mobile started ringing bringing her to reality.
She looked at the caller id and a deep frown appeared on her forehead. She corrected her expression as quickly as it appeared on her face but it didn't escape a few people's notices.
"I'll quickly take this call, okay?" De Xi looked at all the kids around her with a warm and doting smile.
All the kids nodded and then De Xi stood up gracefully from the floor and walked out towards the patio on the opposite side of the forest.
"Eve!!! Pick me up!!!" as soon as De Xi connected the call, a loud, drunk, and unclear voice came from the other side of the call.
De Xi moved the mobile away from her ear in disdain, as she breathed out to suppress her annoyance.
"Where are you?"
"Heaven!!"
"Eun Han Xin!"
"Uwuuu! Is my Evee angry at me? Do you not want me anymore?" Eun Han Xin asked aggrievedly adding more to De Xi's frustration and annoyance.
For the world, Eun Han Xin was a world-renowned art critique, a half-Korean half-Chinese, who possessed the ability to make or break an artist in just a few words.
A dignified and graceful lady with vast knowledge about the field of calligraphy, sketching, and painting.
Yet only her close ones, especially her one of the two best-friends, De Xi knew the real her like the back of her hand.
A very straightforward and unrestrained personality, who would do things the way she pleases, without any regard for the consequences.
It was often De Xi and their other good friend Chang Su, who was a top Asian make-up artist in Hollywood, with her own top beauty products brand, MINE.
"Where are you Xin-ssi?" De Xi asked as calmly as possible, her head already aching.
"In... Heaven? Paradise?" Eun Han Xin said in a child-like voice.
"Who is beside you? Hand that person your mobile." De Xi sighed helplessly as she patiently instructed Eun Han Xin.
"There is a hottie standing right beside me, he is looking at me, shall I give him my mobile?" Eun Han Xin asked in a not-so-low tone.
De Xi sighed softly in helplessness and amusement before agreeing to her question.
"Hello, Ryan Spencer speaking. You must be this lady's guardian?" a gentlemanly but slightly cold tone came through the line.
"Yes, I am Evelina De speaking. Mr. Spencer sorry to trouble you but could please tell me the address of that place?" De Xi asked helplessly with a soft sigh.
Ryan agreed and calmly told her the address to that place, as De Xi attentively remembered it.
"Mr. Spencer, one more request, if it is not too much can you please keep my friend company till I reach there?" De Xi asked hesitantly with uncertainty.
"Sure, no problem." Ryan agreed after a brief pause, clearly sounding helpless.
"I'll be there in ten minutes, sorry for the trouble." De Xi said in an apologetic tone, sighing helplessly she disconnected the call and hurried back inside to the living room.
"I have something urgent to attend to, don't wait for me for dinner if I am delayed." De Xi said quickly in a calm yet slightly hurried tone, the latter part directed towards the kids.
Natalia looked at De Xi in worry and concern, the latter assuring her with a smile and leaving through the front door without further delay.
Though Natalia and De Xi bickered and teased each other most of the time, they share a beautiful bond beyond that facade of silly arguments.
Seeing De Xi in such a hurry Natalia was naturally worried and concerned as her mother is never in a hurry unless something happened to people who hold a high position in her heart.
Meanwhile, De Xi drove towards the bar Eun Han Xin was in at the maximum speed she could drive at while deftly figuring out the traffic of the rush hour.
"Eun Han Xin! Let me get my hands on you, I'll make sure you pay back tenfold to every minute I'm unable to spend with my precious treasures." De Xi gritted her teeth as she navigated her way through the traffic.
Eun Han Xin who was standing outside the bar suddenly felt a chill down her spine, making her shiver unconsciously.
