BRANDENBURG GATE

"Little Princess, has already brushed her teeth and has now gone to wash up. I'll also go and wash up first." Lu Chao said as he dragged his luggage into the right room as well after bidding his parents good night.

De Xi stood up from her seat, walked to her luggage, opening it, and taking out her laptop from the upper zip.

"You are really going to work now?" Lu Bai asked with a frown, clearly not liking the idea.

"Did you think I was joking?" De Xi asked in clear disdain and indifference.

"But, it is..." Lu Bai started but De Xi looked at him with a cold glare.

"If you are going to continue annoying me, I won't mind kicking you out right away." De Xi said coldly in annoyance.

Lu Bai immediately shut his mouth, which he had opened to continue nagging. He knew for sure that De Xi was a woman of her word and won't bat an eye before throwing him out.

After a while, the sound of the door opening and closing was heard, which meant Natalia and Lu Chao were done washing up.

"I'll go wash and sleep as well. Good Night!" Lu Bai said hesitantly before hurrying into the room, unable to stand the uncomfortable silence anymore.

A small smile broke out on De Xi's face after Lu Bai entered his room.

"Mummy are you not going to sleep?" Lu Chao appeared in the doorway of their room, dressed in his grey nightsuit.

"I still have some emails to answer. You sleep first, I'll join you in few minutes." De Xi said with a warm smile.

"Then I'll accompany you. I'm not sleepy either." Lu Chao beamed warmly and then went inside the room, appearing back after a moment with a book in his hand.

"Little Treasure, you should go to bed or else you won't be able to enjoy tomorrow." De Xi urged him calmly in a warm and helpless tone.

"Back to you Mummy." Lu Chao said calmly with a warm smile, having no intention of going to bed until De Xi did.

"Alright! Come let's go to sleep." De Xi said helplessly as she sighed and closed her laptop.

She placed it on the coffee table and then stood up, holding out her hand which Lu Chao held happily, and then the mother-son duo walked into their room hand-in-hand.

Next Morning...

Everyone woke up after a good night's sleep and was already ready for the day.

They all assembled in the restaurant for the breakfast where De Xi told everyone their itinerary for the day, to which half of them groaned and half of them jumped up with joy.

"Why museums on the very first day?" Su Yang and George groaned at the same time.

"Tasteless people." Nan Xi scoffed in annoyance and disdain.

"Wifey I am indeed tasteless to have married you. As always Wifey is always right!" Su Yang said in a fawning tone and his playful smirk successfully earning him a glare from his extremely angry and annoyed wife.

"Insulting and complimenting her at the same time. Hats off to you!" Mu Chang said as he made an action of removing his invisible hat and bowing to Su Yang.

"The first destination is Brandenburg Gate, right?" Li Mei asked excitedly.

"Yes, sweetheart." De Xi said warmly as she smiled in a motherly manner.

After breakfast, they all boarded their bus and started for their first destination of the day, the most famous Brandenburg Gate of Berlin.

The kids, followed by ladies and then men filed out of the bus after they reached their destination.

"What is so special about this place?" Sam asked in confusion, as he looked at the beautiful towering gate.

"It was once a symbol of a divided nation." Liam quoted lightly as he took in the grandeur of the monument.

"It's also famous for being the backdrop of US President Ronald Reagan's 1987 entreaty to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the wall," James said with a slight smile, as he looked at Sam warmly, the latter being obviously confused.

"Brother James, you are telling historical events to a person who has zero sense of it. I can bet that he didn't understand anything but tearing down the wall." Nova said mockingly as she shrugged casually.

"Not everyone can be a bookworm like you." Sam mocked back and walked away to Natalia's side.

"Kids how about a deal?" George said as he walked to Nova and Sam.

"What kind of deal, Uncle George?" Nova asked curiously, while Sam nodded with the same curiosity.

"For the next week, you both won't argue even once for anything, be it big or small. If you manage to do that then Liam and Natalia will do any three of your assignments." George said in a negotiating tone with an animated smile.

"When did we agree to that Dad?" Liam asked in exasperation, completely in disbelief at his father's over-the-top deal.

"I'm sure you can sacrifice this much for a peaceful and joyful holiday?" George asked with a casual shrug.

"I'm in," Natalia said with a warm smile as she nudged Liam to agree as well.

"Not like I have a choice." Liam accepted his defeat with a sigh.

Nova and Sam also agreed after a short moment of hesitation. After all the offer was much more tempting than the displeasure they hold for each other.

"Why do you keep looking at the sun?" De Jia asked as he looked at his cousin in amusement and curiosity.

"That's right. Don't your eyes not hurt?" De Jian also chimed in, as he also was curious.

"Oh! They don't. Isn't there a saying that, if you keep looking and thinking about your aim, it comes true?" Natalia asked with a sweet smile, as she once again looked at the sun.

"Your aim is the Sun?" Feng Bai who was also listening to them asked in confusion.

"Can't it be?" Natalia asked warmly with a smile.
