Chapter 22- Sweet And Sour

Earth POV:

We've been walking for three days already with no rest.

I know this is a magical world but isn't this too abnormal? Shouldn't we get tired?

"You are wondering why we are not getting tired right?"

"How did you know?"

"You are like an open book for me. As you future husband it's only normal I'll be able to read you."

"Aren't you getting to cocky? Who said I'll ever marry you?!"

"I did. Anyway, the reason we are not getting tired is because I keep casting [refresh] on us every hour. This way, we can reach the nearest town faster and sleep on a bed."

"So, although you are an elf, you don't like the idea of sleeping on the ground?"

"...."

"Huh? For real?!"

I began laughing hard and only stopped after getting a harsh stare from Wu.

Ever since he made me call him Wu, something seems a bit off, but I can't put my finger on it. It's like he is a bit more reserved but seem to be less burdened by something at the same time. It's very confusing. It is already very weird for someone to ask you to call them by a different name this suddenly, but then again, Wu was never really normal....

"There's a clearing with a lake up ahead, let's stop there to eat, my magic is running low."

"Sure. How about this time I'll cook?"

Wu suddenly stopped, looking excited.

"You'll cook for me?"

"Sure, why not?"

"I'm glad."

As he said that he smiled at me with one of his most charming smiles yet. It was too much for me so I blushed and turned my head.

This guy and his damn beautiful smile! Fuck you!

"Let's go already, don't just stand there!"

After a few minutes we indeed got to a clearing in the forest with a lake.

After walking in the shade of the trees for so three days, the sun was almost blinding to my eyes, making me flinch.

"Damn, this sun! Although it's great to feel it's warmth...."

"Were you cold?"

"Just a bit."

"Next time tell me, I'll make you warm."

"How? With your body or something?"

"Haha, of course not. With magic, dear. Disappointed?"

"Tch."

I clicked my tongue and walked to the lake.

He is starting to effect my brain, dirtying it and making me dumber.

I took out all the ingredients I needed in order to cook him a sweet and sour chicken. All the ingredients were either collected during our journey, or taken from Wu's home. This is the first time I'm going to try and cook with magic.

In addition to teaching me swordsmanship, Deai also taught me how to circulate the magic throughout my body in order to use magic. Right now I can only control enough magic to cook us properly, but that's about it.

I decided to make us enough food so that each of us can have two servings.

In order to make the sweet and sour chicken, you need:

{

3 sugar spoons.

3 vinegar spoons.

1 teaspoon of soy sauce (apparently they have it here by the name of Soya).

150 grams of beef/ chicken.

1 small dry onion.

2 preserved bamboo stalks.

1 carrot.

8 mushrooms.

2 green peppers.

3 slices of pineapple.

1 scrambled egg.

2.5 spoons of water.

5 spoons of potato flour mixed with 0.25 cups of water.

1.5 spoons of tomato paste.

0.75 cups of cooking oil.

1 teaspoon of salt.

A little black pepper.

1 more teaspoon of potatoes flour.

For the sauce:

1 spoon of dry red wine.

1 teaspoon of salt.

3 spoons of tomato sauce.

2 spoons of water.

1.5 spoons of potato flour.

}

1.You start by cutting the chicken/meat to medium sized cubes. I cut the pieces with a wind magic that produces small wind blades in accordance to the users wish. Then I placed the sliced chicken in a bowl and seasoned it with a bit of salt, pepper and a teaspoon of potato flour.

2. You mix all the ingredients for the sauce in a different bowl and soak the chicken/ meat in it for 10 minutes. (Do not throw away this sauce after).

3. You thinly chop all the vegetables and pineapple and steam it until the carrot become soft.

[Writers joke: If only steaming Wu's carrot could make it softer....]

4. Fry the steamed vegetables in a pan that was heated beforehand with 0.75 cups of cooking oil for 4-5 minutes, then take it out to the colander.

5. Mix the scrambled egg with 5 potato flour spoons, tomato paste and 2 spoons of water until you get an almost smooth mixture.

6. Enter the chicken/ meat to the mixture and mix.

7. Fry the chicken/ meat in the pre-heated pan with 0.75 cups of cooking oil for a few minutes, then take it out to the colander.

8. Move to the same pan the sauce left from step 2, and mix it well over a medium fire. Add back to the pan the meat/ chicken and vegetables from the colander, and fry it lightly.

}

Now I can take it out and serve it with the rice I also made. It smells delicious, but I hope I cooked it enough with my magic, if not I'll be very embarrassed.

"This smells delicious! Is the food ready?"

"Yes it is."

A rustling sound was heard from the trees nearby, and before I could blink, Wu disappeared from my side.

"Hello."

I could hear Wu's voice not far away from me, so I got closer to see who he was speaking with. As I got close I could see the figure of a 16 years old boy with white long hair and brown skin. Although he is only 16 he looks strong and well built, you could tell because he was wearing nothing at all.

"I can't understand what you're saying." The boy replied.

Wu looked confused for some reason and turned to me.

"Can you understand what he is saying?"

"Yes. Can't you?"

"No. Ask him why he was watching us."

"He was watching us?"

"Yes, now ask."

"Ok."

Now I turned to the boy.

"Hey, can you understand me?"

He flinched! It was kinda cute...

"Maybe he can't?"

I asked Wu.

"Yes I can."

This time it was my turn to flinch.

"Oh, good. What's your name?"

"Why would I tell you my name?"

"You don't have to. I was just being polite."

He is being rude, why?

"Do you need something from me?"

"You are the one who was watching us though..."

"...."

Apparently he was not expecting a comeback so he got confused.

Hahaha, he is quit funny....although it bothers me he is naked....I have to try super hard to not look what size he is down there.

Wu seemed to have noticed my struggle as he was staring daggers at my back, making me blush lightly of shame.

"It was just because of the damn stink you two were releasing with your food! Can't you control yourselves? You are disturbing the residents!"

He seemed to want and save his dignity.

"What is he saying?"

"He said the smell of the food is disturbing him."

"He did? I think he just wanted to steal it for himself."

"Really?"

"Of course."

The boy looked at us with curiosity.

He really is kind of cute like this, isn't he? Ok, I made up my mind. I'll make him my friend!

Once again I could feel daggers from Wu's stare.

Why though?

"Sorry, we didn't realize we were disturbing anyone. We will eat now and get out of here, ok?"

"Fine."

Although he probably think he hid it well, you can see he is disappointed on his face. So very cute!

"How about you stay with us a bit and eat, as a compensation I mean. I'm sure you will like the taste better than the smell?"

He looks to be very hungry with him drooling like that....

"I'll eat what you cooked in-spite of the smell, be greatful!"

"Hahahaha, sure. Let's go seat near the lake?"

He nodded as response and followed me to the clearing.

Seeing this Wu looked a bit disappointed for some reason. I'll explain everything to him while we eat.

"Let's hurry before the food I made will go cold."

Only after calling Wu to hurry he seemed to cheer up a bit.
