Wu POV:

Half an hour passed before Maya called us to come back through a text message. I was feeling anxious even though I drank some tea to help me relax, my head full of depressing thoughts.

What if Earth is going to die? What if he can't be healed? I will kill myself if he'll die!

The walk back to the room seemed to take forever. The dark wooden floor and the dim light in the hall gave the murky feelings in my heart a boost. When we finally reached the room, Maya opened the door for Rush and I, letting us in.

"Come in but be quite, Earth is asleep right now."

Maya said so in a low voice. We quietly entered the room and I was relieved to see Earth sleeping peacefully on the bed, no longer pale or sweating.

"How is he?"

I asked. Maya took another look at Earth before looking back at me seriously.

"He is fine for now. I heard from Rush that he was taken and put under a spell by Koshi, your father's old right-hand man, right?"

"Yeah... Did he do something to Earth?"

A murderous aura started seeping out of me.

If this bastard harmed Earth in any way, I will hunt him and make him suffer greatly!

"Wuxian Deai! Control your aura right this second!"

Rush's angry whisper brought me back to my senses and I hurriedly did as she ordered.

"Sorry, I got angry."

"I get why, but you can't release such murderous aura so casually."

Rush sighed as she said this.

"Back to the point-"

Maya continued speaking after the little interruption, bringing us back to the main point.

"-apparently, Koshi casted a curse on Earth. I, myself, can't lift it-"

"What? Earth is cursed and you can't heal him?"

Earth is cursed? I really AM going to kill that bastard!

"Yes. Earth is cursed to become weaker the farther apart he and Koshi are-"

"So I just have to catch and force Koshi to heal Earth?"

"Will you please stop interrupting me?"

Maya got angry.

"Sorry...."

She sure is scary when she is angry....

Maya's eyes turn from dark brown to dark red and her ears also become pointier when she gets angry, a symbol of a half-elf in this world. I know Maya since we were little kids, only 20 human years old, since her mom was a follower of my dad so he let us meet. Although after all these years she had calmed down and changed to an extreme degree, trying to become as different from her mother as she could, when we were kids she would sometimes have rage attacks, beating me up when I angered her. This memory of her still scare me to this day.

We only stayed friends because the rest of the time, when she wasn't angry, she was the sweetest person there is.

Maya controlled herself, calming down and turning back to normal, after I apologized to her.

"As long as you understand.... As I was saying, Earth is cursed and I can't heal him, but I know a person that can lift the curse and without you chasing Koshi around."

"Really? Where can we find them?"

I was glad to hear that Earth can be healed, it felt like a heavy load was lifted from my body, making me feel lighter.

"I actually already contacted her through a text message. Apparently, she will be visiting Leas Town in three days."

"For real?! That's great!"

So lucky! My luck stats are probably pretty high! When Earth learns to control [God's Eye], I will have him check them for me.

"Before you get excited, let me warn you. Her potions ALWAYS have side effects, all of them are really weird side effects as well! There was this one time I met a customer of hers that turned completely green after drinking her potion!"

".... I see..."

That doesn't sound so good... But we don't have a choice as well.

"It doesn't matter. I will love Earth no matter what he looks like, so all I care about right now, is getting him back to full health."

"Ok, just don't say I didn't warn you. I will get her to come here and give you the potion the moment she enters the town. Let Earth sleep for now, he is going to need it."

"Thank you Maya, I owe you a big one."

"It's fine. If you could, you would have done the same thing for me if I needed you to."

"You really are the best! Rush, I hope you appreciate how lucky you are."

"Of course I do!"

Rush smiled at me, hugging Maya tightly.

"We are going to leave now, text us immediately if anything else happens."

"Ok, but is it possible for me to leave him alone for about an hour?"

Maya and Rush looked surprised at my question, after all, why would I want to leave Earth alone even for a second, after all that has happened?

"If it's only an hour, he will be totally fine, the healing spell I casted on him should last for three or four days after all. But, why would you want to leave his side right now?"

"I need to buy Earth some clothes and magic scrolls, especially magic scrolls to help him protect himself. It just seems like he has really bad luck, I'm afraid to go out of the room with him when he is this weak."

It seems that the moment he goes out, something bad always happens to him. First, he was hit by Rei's sword during her practice, which almost got him killed. Then he gets himself kidnapped and almost raped. And lastly, he almost died yet again after being cursed. How can he be so unlucky?! Who did he kill in his past life exactly?!

"I see... It does sound like a good idea... How about you just cast [Spatial Dome] on him then?"

Maya suggested and I agreed with her. [Spatial Dome] erupt a spatial dome-shaped barrier around a specified area. It cannot be breached if the caster is strong enough or if the one who want to breach, is of lower magical level then the caster. It's perfect for this situation.

"That's a great idea, Thank you!"

I erupted the special dome around Earth and left the room with Maya and Rush, locking it behind me.

-------

(Half an hour later)

I'm now holding in my hands three bags of clothes for Earth, including one bag of underwear which I reluctantly bought for him as well, knowing I would be scolded if I wouldn't have done so. The salesman smiled at me from behind his counter, pleased that I bought so much from him, after all, this is definitely going to get him that raise he wanted from his boss.

"Have a nice day. I hope your lover will like the clothes you got him!"

He called after me as I left the store.

I guess that he was able to tell from the size of clothes that I was buying it for another man. How did he now that he is my lover though?

I wasn't aware that my face showed a lot of discontent when I was paying for Earth's underwear, and the only thing cheering me up was when the salesman showed me a pair of sexy underwear I thought would look great on Earth, after I sweet-talk him into wearing it, that is.

Now, to the magic shop. I remember there is one nearby...

I moved all of the shopping bags to my spatial bag before leaving the store, and headed to the place where I remembered there was a good magic shop.

--------

(Five minutes later)

The front of the magic store was simple except for the big golden letters saying "Magic for Everyone", on top of the door. As I entered the shop, the sound of a bell was heard and a small, old woman greeted my face.

"Welcome, welcome, how may I help you today?"

As she saw my face her eyes lit up, probably thinking that since I'm an elf she will be able to get money from me easily. Leas Town is a beginner's town, meaning, people who are just starting their journey come here to get everything they need to survive, for the first time. Elves are excellent archers, with a strong build and lots of stamina, in the forest they can hunt their food by themselves and make their clothes out of it as well, they don't have to worry about stuff like money when living in the forest. That's why, when elves for the first time use money, a lot of times it is really easy to con it out of them, robbing them blind.

I let a bit of my aura to sip out, just enough to make the old lady lose the greedy gleam in her eyes as she realized I was not a noob, knowing nothing about the human world.

"I would like to buy some magic scrolls for a beginner. Ones to help him protect himself, and ones to help him attack."

-----

(Ten minutes later)

"Is that all sir?"

The old lady put all the magic scrolls I chose on the counter before asking me this. She wasn't going to let me go cheap so easily.

"I think so. Do you have anything interesting for an experienced adventurer with a high magic level?"

It was supposed to be a hint for the old lady to realize who she is talking to, but to my surprise, she smiled in response.

"Would you be interested in checking the adults section of the store? I'm sure you can find something interesting there to use for your lover."

How does everyone know I have a lover? Never mind that though, this sounds interesting.

"That sounds promising, lead the way."

The old lady led the way to a door on the side, covered by black velvet curtains, before moving it to the side and showing me in.

-----------

(Fifteen minutes later)

An hour had passed since I left the motel and I was now back in it, unlocking the door to our room. In the end, that old lady did have some good stuff in her shop, making my mood extremely good as I recalled the recent purchase of scrolls, those I bought for Earth as well as the ones I bought for myself.

Hopefully, I'll get to use one of these soon.

I entered the room quietly, not wanting to wake up Earth and totally forgetting I casted [Spatial Dome] around the bed. Only after being confused, and a bit panicky, for a few seconds, as to why were both Earth and the bed missing from the room, did I remember about it, removing the spell.

"Where were you?"

A melodic yet accusing voice was heard as soon as the spell broke, and a light impact was felt on my body. Earth jumped down from the bed as soon as the spell broke, ran towards me and hugged me tightly around my waist, the momentum almost making me trip. This was extremely surprising, having Earth act like this.

"I just went out for a bit. Why are you awake?"

Earth looked up at me with a pout on his face. He reminded me of a little kid who finally found his mother after getting separated from her at the street, trying not to cry while also trying to look brave.

"I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd wake up so soon, so I erupted a spatial dome around you and went to buy you clothes and magic scrolls."

He still looked upset.

"I woke up and you were gone, and I couldn't leave the bed for some reason and when I tried calling for you, you wouldn't come. I was really worried!"

This must have frightened him.

I spoke gently, trying to soothe him, while petting his head.

"I'm sorry, I should have left you a note or something like that. This must have scared you."

"I was not scared!...I am just used to always having you around so I was worried, that's all."

Although he said he wasn't scared, his hug around me tightened.

Man! He is so cute, it is bad for my heart!

"I guess I really am always around."

I chuckled slightly. My efforts to appease him seem to be working, as he just rested his head on my chest quietly. We stood like that for a while before I decided Earth needs to go back to bed, to keep resting. I lifted him in my arms, making him squeal in surprise.

"What are you doing? Put me down!"

"No. You have to rest."

"Why?"

"You are cursed and only in three days the one that is treating you will come. I heard her potions have weird side-effects as well, so you'll have to rest in order to deal with them."

Earth's face showed both confusion and worry.

So damn cute!

"I'm cursed?"

Earth already forgot about his struggle to make me put him down. Only when we reached the bed and I gently placed him on it, did he remember, his face turning red in shame.

"You were cursed by Koshi, the one that kidnapped you. The curse makes you grow weaker the farther away you are from him, until you die. "

Earth looked terrified.

"I'm going to die?!"

"Of course not! Like I said, the one treating you will come here in three days."

My words calmed him down for a second before he tensed up again, looking at me worriedly.

"You mentioned that the potion she'll give me will have side-effects, didn't you?... What kind of side-effects are you talking about?"

"I don't know. Maya only told me about one case, where she met a patient of the healer whose skin turned green as a side-effect of one of her potions."

Earth had a horrified look on his face now.

"I don't want to turn green!"

"Then, do you prefer to die?"

"....."

"The potion might have other side effects. Side effects are only temporary anyway, they will pass after some time."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course!"

Earth sighed in relief and I patted his shoulder in encouragement.

"Now, on another topic, I bought you some clothes. Please change your clothes right now, what you are currently wearing is dirty and needs to be cleaned. After that, in the two days we have before the healer arrives, please study the magic scrolls I bought you."

I took out of my spatial bag the bags of clothes I bought for Earth, and handed them to him, leaving only the special underwear I bought for him in my own bag.

Wouldn't want him to throw them away before I can convince him to wear them.

After inspecting the clothes in the bags he seemed content.

"Since it's you, I thought there might be some weird stuff in here. Guess I was wrong."

He knows me too well...

"I'm insulted that you would think that!"

I would never admit the truth to him though. The scrolls and underwear will be used later on, I can't let him find out about them.

"Sorry."

"That's all?"

"I will never tell you, something like 'how can I make it up to you?', I'm not dumb."

"Tch."

I clicked my tongue at his cheeky answer, but couldn't refute. Earth chose a white shirt and blue soft shorts to wear, revealing his white beautiful legs. This scene made me feel a bit excited, down there, so I quickly used [Cooldown] on myself when Earth wasn't watching.

I chose well, but I will never let him wear this outside. If anyone ever saw him this way, I will cut their eyes out.

After changing, we both entered the bed, me cuddling Earth in my lap although the weak struggle he pretended to give me. He is still not used to us being a couple-...sorry, I mean "only dating", even though he initiated it himself.

"Here, let's start with you learning the first scroll."

I said so and pulled out of my spatial bag a defensive magic scroll, handing it to Earth. His eyes seemed to have an excited gleam in them, as he received the scroll from me.
