"Hahaha sorry, sorry did I surprise you there!" The guy in the coffin was laughing. Soon he got out of the coffin. He dusted himself clean.
Elisa went cautiously to Raven's side and held him.
"Hey Raven wake up you idiot!" Hushed Elisa to Raven. Soon Raven came to wake up, who wouldn't, Elisa was pinching his cheeks the whole time, still groggy and laying comfortably in Elisas embrace he said " hu r yu" (who are you). Elisa realized that raven was now awake and didn't just want to move because he got comfy. Elisa tried to look angry, but as she played with his face making all kind of grimaces, she struggled to keep an angry face, soon she couldn't keep it up the act, she started to giggle!
"Hahaha, fine, what do I do with you?"
The man was standing in front of them, clearing his throat to draw attention.
"If I may introduce myself, I'm Tiwaz, now called Tyr, I am a god of justice, a god of agriculture and more importantly a god of war, Odin's son, Fenrir's caretaker or more like was Hahaha, in the pantheon of the nordic people, I was revered as a god with good faith and endless courage, as I neither cowered in unfairness or was partial! Young man first and foremost, you have my thanks and of course young lady you have my gratitude as well, for freeing this one humble god" Tyr bowed to the two of them.
He wore a withered feather cap, he had long brightly golden blonde hair, his eyes were deer brown like, that seemed to sparkle like marble. He looked like a young adult, he wore a a woad blue tunic with a belt, a cape was binded to it through a brooch. His trousers were made from linen as well his tubic, it was decorated with geometrics and runes.
Tyr looked carefully at the two of them as they were too calm, not reacting how he wished they would. He blinked a few times.
"Hm... uh, are you two not surprised that I am a living god? Standing right in front of you?"
"Well..., if we had to say, not really, I mean this is in the end your grave, more like your rebirth took all the surprise of us, we just wanted to be sure, you were the one we had in mind." Elisa explained patiently.
*sigh*
"Seems fair enough, but I have to correct you on something little lady, im not rebirthed, I was sealed by my own kind, they took my powers and, divided them in...-"
"In a scale, the Mausoleum and a shield!" Said Elisa proud.
"Yes, yes, no Hahaha, not a shield, just the symbol what it represents, the will, to protect.
They took everything what represented me and made it my own imprisonment."
"Why?" Asked Raven.
"Hmm, well young boy, there once was a time, were there too was one young pup, his name was fenrir, fenrir was young, trusting, loyal, loving. He grew up with these ethics, because I was taking care of him. The young pup, was destined bring end to the world as we know it, so it was prophesied, so did the gods believe. I too was once a believer of the prophecy..., he grew bigger and bigger, as his growth knew truly no end, the gods grew to be more distrustful of the youngling. No matter how innocent someone is..., time and distasteful treatment will change you. It changed him..., he who was more loving, more loyal, more trusting then anyone in the mighty nordic pantheon, was no more then a shell of it past self. I saw and I did not see...
Once the young pup, was hardly to control, the gods of aesir tried to bound him, to avail, he grew stronger and stronger and everytime he grew more resentful, as the gods lied more and more to him, deceived him, they tried to bind him through every trick they knew..."
Elisa and Raven listened attentively to Tyr, holding their breath, they listened to every word he said.
"Then what happened...?" Asked Raven with bated breath.
"Then one day, they put him to dare..., gleipnir, an nearly indestructible binding chain, that gets tighter and thighter, the bigger and bigger ones grows. So they dared him 'oh mighty fenrir, do you dare to put these on and free yourself to demonstrate how truly mighty and deserving you are'. The young pup, didn't trust them, he only trusted me, so he said ' only if someone puts his Hand in my mouth'. Nobody stepped forward..."
"But you did!" Said Elisa pointing to the missing right hand.
" yes, I did, I stepped forward and put my right hand in his mouth, soon he realized he was tricked, he couldn't break free, he bit my hand off. Of course at the time I too, didn't know it was a trap, this all, I got to know at end.. " Tyr looked at his missing hand, remembering the look of his betrayed loved one.
"At the day, I didn't lose just a hand..., I lost a friend and myself, but more important once I realized what happened and felt endless anger and remorse, I tried to undo the wrongdoings..., so I barged in the cave where they imprisoned him and tried to free him, but well you could guess what happened Hahahaha"
What tyr didn't tell them was, that he killed so many soldiers on his way, that even Odin himself was afraid of standing in front of Tyr.
Elisa was crying and with her crying the flowers were swaying, as a sign they tried to console her. Raven looked at his hand and made a fist, he pointed it straight to Tyr.
"So, what are you waiting for!"
Tyr was confused.
"Your friend, he is probably still waiting, for you to come and save him!"
Raven looked determined, his fighting spirit was showing on his face, he tried to give encouragement to Tyr!
Elisa was snotting and crying tears but she was nodding hard with agreement and pumped up fists.
Tyr began to chuckle until it broke into uncontrollable laughter.
"Buhahahaha, yes you are right, my friend is still waiting"
He snorted. He proceeded to pat them both on top of their head.
"Now Raven and Elisa, thank you, you both have the hearts of true warrior in you!"
" h-how do you know our name?" Elisa was shocked.
"Did you forget that I am Tyr, a god with divine powers over agriculture? Hahaha silly brats, the flowers told me"
The flowers rustling kept going wild, as they tried to explain in their own way.
Tyr seeing the interaction between Elisa and the flowers smiled.
"Oi, stop starting. I'm warning you" Raven said very coldly, with a vein on his side head bulging.
"Hahahaha or else, what would you do little brat, I'm a god!" Tyr then got down on one knee and patted Raven's shoulder.
"Kid, you have to protect her well, you truly don't know how amazing she is, there are people, who will do anything and everything to her for their own benefit, but I think you can trust the people right outside, they are good as I judged them fairly. " tyr then pointed at his eye.
"Raven, not every god, not every human, not every living being is bad, nor are they good, judge them yourself with your own eyes"
"Hm, you don't have to tell me, I already know that she is amazing, of course I will protect her! And for the people outside I will judge them myself!" Said Raven.
Tyr chuckled.
"Good!"
He then turned to Elisa.
"Elisa, you are probably smarter than him, don't let him do stupid stuff."
Elisa just showed a thumb up.
"It was nice meeting you, Raven and Elisa, I have to go now somewhere, where im needed!"
Tyr bowed with his left hand on his chest.
Elisa and Raven looked at each other very confused then the moment they turned back, he vanished. Only the rustling could be heard of the Vikings Poms and a laughter that waned.
"What in the.. What just happened right now?" Raven asked.
"Beats me.."
Elisa and Raven were stumped, it was a weird experience to describe it the least.
Before they could think further about what just happened, the door opened!
In front of them were Grisko and John.
They looked at each other, then at the kids.
Raven and Elisa were cautious, a little bit nervous.
"S-see o-ld man we really neede-" before he could finish what he what to say say, he got hugged.
He wasn't the only one, Grisko hugged them both.
"Its okay, I understand, the most important thing is that you are okay, we can take care of the rest afterwards!" Said Grisko, his voice was quivering.
Raven and Elisa were stunned.
"Are you not mad for what we did to you?" Asked Elisa.
"Thats right, I mean normally people would beat us to a pulp..." said Raven.
The slums were unforgiving, as they are unforgiving, they are rules. Some unspoken rules better left unsaid.
"If you had wished to harm me, I would probably have been." Grisko rummaged through his clothes, he found the bandage that the kids used to treat his head.
He opened his palm and showed it to them.
"Hehehe, I kept it the entire time as a good luck charm."
"But sir... we are just two kids from the slums, were the bag and stuff really that important to you..." Asked Raven.
"Hmm, at the beginning yes, but as I made my search for you, I found a little bit of myself, someone who I used to be.." Grisko smiled lightly and patted his head.
"So don't sweat it, more importantly, your eye... I see its to late.." Grisko sighed in regret.
"Do you know what that eye even is?" Asked Grisko.
"No..., but I feel it's belongs to me like it always has..." said raven.
"Probably, what you are feeling is soul resonance, this thing in your eye socket is a lost item, an ancient relique from the past, it could be however old, if you feel like that, it probably means your soul wave length and the artifact are very compatible..if you weren't you could use it maybe 10%? 30% who knows! You are lucky it accepted you! If you weren't you probably would have lost more then just an eye!"
"Well I didn't achieve anything like that, it just chose me... the young lady I mean.." said raven.
Grisko furrowed his eyebrows.
"Young lady?"
Elisa opened her eyes wide
"Young lady?!"
"Uh, liz... calm down.. hear me o-oUCH!" Raven got his ass kicked.
"Don't tell me to calm down!" Elisa snorted.
'Ah poor boy, I know how you feel, I too was once there, hold on little boy!'
Grisko looked with pity at Raven.
Elisa seemingly feeling his thoughts said.
"Ah you, you just thought something really rude huh!"
Grisko just shaked his head hard without saying anything.
He looked at John for help, but then he noticed, John was the whole time spacing out.
"John, are you okay?" Asked Grisko concerned.
"Hm what? Oh yeah..., it's just, she just looks like her... a lot." John said while looking at Elisa and Raven playing around.
"See, I told you..., its unbelievable how similar they two are.."
John only nodded.
"Hey little kids I don't want to ruin your moments there, but we have to go! " Said Grisko.
"Can you stop calling us like that, we have names!" Said Raven.
Elisa nodded in agreement.
Grisko chuckled.
"Fine, my bad, my name is Grisko and this John. What are your names?"
"I'm Elisa! No last name!" Elisa smiled brightly and showed a peace sign.
"I'm Raven! I too don't have a last name!" Raven smiled slightly, he felt relieved for some reason, he knew from here on everything would change, maybe for the better or worst, this is up to fate.
Since he can't do anything to change fate, he might as well try his best, for him and most importantly for his new growing family!
