A new home - I

Once they ate and finished, Evelyn knew that it was only a matter of time before Antonio would tell them to move to the car as they had to go back to the residence of Mr alessandro.

Alessandro.

Who knew that she would actually stay in the house as someone they would be responsible for? For once in her life Evelyn did not understand the need for a father to have been friends with the men like that.

Out of everyone, Carlo Bianchi was friends with Angelo Alessandro.

Her heart was beating so loudly that she had no idea how to deal with it. She glanced at Antonio repeatedly to make sure that he was not able to hear it. She could hear her own heart beat in her ears. Was that possible?

Scratch that anything was possible. She was going to stay with the Alessandro family and was going to be under their protection. Anything was going to be possible for the moment.

She sighed. The residences and people started to disappear as they neared the place where the family lived. It was a secluded area yet one of the first ones in the area of where they lived.

She bit her lip as their residence appeared. . . It was a massive mansion, all one could say a castle. Holy shit, she was here.

Evelyn gulped again.

"Kid," Antonio leaned in, "the family never leaves their family members alone. Since you are the daughter of a friend they will consider you close. I will recommend that you do not mess this up."

Mess it up? She stared at him incredulously. This was the literal meaning of being messed up.

The gates opened and the car drove around a small yet beautiful fountain before stopping in front of the house. Two men stood there waiting for them as they both opened the doors of Evelyn and Antonio from their sides.

She hurriedly got off and stood beside Antonio who gave her a pointed look.

They were led inside by a maid to the office of Mr Alessandro. She knew thrice before entering on command and informing about who had arrived. She then opened the door wide for them to enter.

Angelo pointed to the seats in front of them and his eyes did not leave Evelyn. She found herself blushing hard at the attention. Why was he staring at her? Was going to kill her?

She bit her lip as Antonio began, "I apologize for bringing her early but the family members were on the verge of killing her when I went back."

Evelyn frowned very lightly. What did early mean?

Angelo nodded slowly looking at Antonio. "I did not think they would have a lot of courage to kill her when I told them that I was taking over the organisation." He titles his head. " I'll take care of them," his eyes moved to Evelyn, making hers widen, "don't you worry about them."

Oof. . . Kill her.

She nodded. "Thank you." She muttered and watched as his eyes ran over her face.

"They did that?" His finger pointed to her face. For a second Evelyn wondered what he was talking about before it hit her that he was talking about the wounds and the possible swelling.

She nodded, again.

"Hmmm," he nodded again. "Do you want to know what's going on?"

She nodded. Again.

"Then speak and ask. Your father never mentioned about you being dumb."

Kill her already. The embarrassment was massive. She gulped before speaking, "why—why am I staying here with you? I assumed that I would be living on my own."

"You assumed wrong," Angelo told her, "you can live on your own if you want. That would be after sometime when the organisation and everything about it settles down and you are no longer any kind of threat."

Threat?

Angelo saw that. "There are many people that are going to hold you to their advantage and try to take over the organisation from me. I could say in this case, they might be your family members."

"I understand." She really understood that. Evelyn knew that her family members would not think twice before killing her for money.

Angelo rang a bell and the same maid entered. "The maid will take you to your allotted room. Tomorrow at breakfast you will meet my family and after that you will go to your house and you will get everything that you need." His eyes went to the maid, " Agatha." He nodded and she stepped forward.

Evelyn knew of the dismissal when she saw one. She gave a nod to both of the men and said goodnight before walking out of the door with the maid.
