Sympathy from the don - III

"Say that again," the don commanded, "but loud and clear like you mean it." His loud voice and harshness immediately told her about the offence that she had committed in his presence.

No man in power liked to be questioned and she had done just that and if not enough Evelyn had accused him.

Evelyn gulped. "I-I—"

"Don't fucking stutter in front of me now. You sure as hell did not stutter when you accused me of not informing you." The don snapped, making her jump.

Evelyn messed up. She messed up badly and realised that a little late. By the way the don glared at her it was obvious that she had gone too far and angered him.

She shrank back but the Don did not stop.

"If you think that it is my duty in any way to inform you what is going on in the lives of your friends you are dead wrong Evelyn and I am not going to correct you on that." He pointed his finger at her, "it ain't my duty now and it will not be my duty ever. Do you understand?"
